Zachaeus got up from his throne and walked back to his chambers, his shadow creating a pitch black void in the sunlit hall behind him. Upon arriving in his chambers he shut and locked the door before walking over to the unlit fireplace that was in his room. He let his eyes linger on Bloodline, which hung on the mantle, before going over to his bed. After making sure that no curtains were open to let sunlight into the room, Zachaeus laid down on the somewhat uncomfortable straw filled mattress and drifted off into a deep, dreamless sleep.
