Ah! Lovely! That'll be exciting when you finally make it over there. Its so beautiful.
My husband was military, we lived in Germany and in Japan, and I speak more German than Japanese, but the amount is probably slightly more than elvish, as far as German goes. My husband speaks more Japanese than I do. He took classes for a few years prior just for fun. 
I also took spanish for 4 years, and while english is my native tongue [i]I do not speak it all that well..[/i]
