[b][color=ed1c24]Appearance Description:[/color][/b] Kax possesses the large pale eyes of most of his race and also has fairly tanned scaly skin, in the place of the typical plume of feathers, however (which to this day he insists were the best feathers in his fleet) is a rather sad set of small black,burned 'spines' sticking about a centimeter out of his head.
[b][color=ed1c24]Day To Day Attire:[/color][/b] In his downtime Kax prefers to wear rather simple silken fabrics, however as they are generally not available he wears a short-sleeved top with black leggings, albeit this is just what he wears under his combat equipment. Where possible he would rather any kind of clothing that would cover his lack of plumage.

[b][color=ed1c24]Personality:[/color][/b] Kax is a veteran of the human-covenant war, this has led him to become incredibly suspicious of most races involved in the war, especially the brutes and humans who were prime causes for much of the suffering in his life. In addition to his distrust, the shattering of the covenant broke what little faith he held in the great journey, leaving him in something of a limbo in terms of his spirituality which even to this day he hasn't really attempted to fix. Overall the war has caused Kax to develop great suspicion and distaste of others while also making him incredibly wary of those with lofty promises and unrealistic ideas.
Despite his cynical view of others, Kax can grow very attached to those he fights with and often becomes protective of those he has begun to forge something of a bond with on or off the battlefield, even going as far to go against the greed found in most of his race on occasion and offer financial aid to those who need it. 
Due to the loss of his feathers, an event to Kax that would be comparable to being castrated, Kax feels inferior to most of his fellow Kig-yar and will usually attempt to make himself as small as possible when interacting with those who are part of his race. He has given up on any hopes of starting a family as he does not believe he could ever attract a mate and is resigned to the fact that he will most likely die in battle even after the end of the human-covenant war.

[b][color=ed1c24]History:[/color][/b] Kax was born on High Charity in 2518, naturally this meant his life would be dominated by the Human-Covenant war and was quickly enlisted into the military upon reaching maturity where he served in the Prophet of Regret's own Fleet of Sacred Consecration and various other minor fleets before this (including Thel Vadamee's Fleet of Particular Justice during the fall of Reach before being reassigned).
During the Fall of Reach, Kax was deployed in the city of New Alexandria where he served under one of the brute chieftains tasked with obliterating the city, this was not to Kax's tastes at all as he personally thought the brutes were lousy apes with no right to be ordering him around. During this time during a combat engagement with UNSC forces, Kax was almost struck by a napalm grenade, the majority of the napalm was deflected off of his shield however his upper head and plumes were not covered and quickly burned off. After some agony, the napalm was removed from the jackal's smoldering head only after the brute commanding him physically ripped the burned feather's off of the kig-yar's head. Naturally, Kax's fellow jackals quickly began to mock his lack of feathers and gained the not so affectionate nickname of 'fire feathers'. After this rather traumatic even Kax demanded to be reassigned and retrained as a sniper to avoid such situations (and to avoid as much mockery as possible), after some time he was reassigned and served as a fairly competent sniper until the Great Schism.
At the beginning of the Great Schism, Kaz happily betrayed his old Jiralhanae allies who had so brutally emasculated him essentially in front of his peers and effectively executed several brutes stationed on the arc from his crows nest once the fighting begun, to then flee with the small group of Sangheili he had rescued and ended up joining the rather strange group led by the Arbiter. When ONI approached his higher-ups about requiring a group of soldiers, apparently the now grizzled and somewhat cynical kig-yar veteran was ideal for whatever the hairless apes had install for him.
