Kai's right hand flew up to the grip of the weapon at his waist at the sudden approach of the drunken stranger. Strange, he was certain that he could not have been that loud when he mentioned the hideout. This newcomer, in his current state, did not look as if he could offer them as much as he claimed, but people could be aggressive and dangerous when intoxicated despite not being in their best state of mind, and so Kai thought it best to remain wary as Ratte began engaging in a conversation with the drunkard. He narrowed his eyes when the stranger responded to Ratte, questioning how they could trust one another. Well, the truth was that they did not have to, because after all that had happened, they needed one another. Sure, there were reasons to do so, especially after how Isago had taken it upon himself to warn the rest of them that someone else was after their group, but trust was still far from the main reason why they were still together, or at least Kai was not yet ready to think otherwise. This stranger wanted Ratte to answer, but the whole situation was making the boy uncomfortable, and he wanted the conversation to wrap up as soon as possible. "We don't have to prove anything to you, and you don't need to know who we are, at least not until you can tell us who you are," he interjected, still keeping a firm grip on his cutlass.
