The 'curse of blonde hair' came from [url=https://comicvine.gamespot.com/kordax/4005-24906/]Kordax[/url], a villain and ancestor of Aquaman. [url=http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Curse_of_Kordax]The Curse of Kordax[/url] is why Aquaman was supposedly abandoned as an infant (post- Crisis on Infinite Earths). In this version of Aquaman's origin his mother, Atlanna, has red hair and not listed as having telepathic abilities.

The more current (Rebirth) version of Aquaman mentions nothing of the curse nor Kordax. Atlanna now also has blonde hair and the ability to control sea creatures telepathically. Her son and Aquaman's half-brother, Ocean Master, also has this ability yet has [b]black hair[/b].
