She remained positive, after all, she had never known her real parents so she didn't feel attached to them or worry about them leaving her. Her optimism soon led to her adoption, and at the age of five, she was in a new home. Akari's older brother, Keiran, was a big influence in her life. Six years older than her, he was her protector and mentor. So, when he got accepted into The 2nd Tactical as a Striker she knew she had to follow in his footsteps. She was more than driven, starting a vigorous training regimen at the age of twelve. She soon learned that close quarters combat wasn't her calling, and decided to work with long-range weaponry instead, a field she was far more comfortable in. Akari still carries the drive she developed when she was twelve. There are times when she can be too driven, so focused on a goal that she forgets to eat and sleep. Luckily, she had a loving family that taught her the importance of self-care. Adaptable, she usually adjusts to new situations with an easy smile. Whenever she's thrown into battle, she becomes hyper-focused and does what it takes to win. They shoot beams, discs, and bolts of plasma from the triangular muzzle depending on what they're set to. Equipped with a biometric scanner on the trigger, Discord and Harmony can't be shot by anyone whose fingerprint isn't recognized. The clips of gas can take up to two days of frequent shooting to run out, and are interchangeable as well as refillable. Discord and Harmony are extremely lightweight in comparison to most handguns, making them perfect for someone who utilizes speed and rapid-fire attacks. Psychic Drive: Akari's Psychic Drive, Concussion, is the ability to generate small orbs of yellowish aura. Upon striking their intended target, these orbs create a concussive blast (the force of which depends on the size of the sphere) that sends the target flying. Akari utilizes these blasts by creating small spheres at her feet. Once they touch the ground below her, the resulting blast launches her around. She's become adept at controlling the intensity of the blast and where she lands, but she has been known to over/underestimate the size of the orbs and launching herself too much or too little. She also has a limit as far as how many balls she can create. At this time, she can only create five medium-sized orbs (around the size of a grapefruit), two large orbs (bowling ball size), or ten small orbs (the size of a lemon) before feeling the effects of her Drive. This will drain her stamina, effectively making her slower. Being tossed around can also cause body/head aches.

A small orb, being the size a lemon, can toss someone Akari's weight around ten/fifteen feet.
A medium-sized orb, being the size of a grapefruit, would be able to launch someone her weight about thirty feet.
A large orb, which is the size of a bowling ball, would be capable of launching someone her weight around fifty/sixty feet.
A massive orb (something Akari would only be able to create once before completely exhausting herself) the size of a beach ball, would be able to launch someone in a full suit of light-medium weight armor thirty feet. On the glass plate was a cake, fifteen candles delicately placed on the surface, all burning. It was Akari's absolute favorite confection, German chocolate with coconut pecan frosting. She grinned, and as the towering cake neared she leaned forward in her seat to swipe some of the frosting off, sticking her finger in her mouth before her mother could see and scold her. Coconut flakes coated her tongue, and the pleasant flavor of vanilla lingered even after she swallowed. Some considered the cake to be sickeningly sweet, but it was the perfect cheat-day dessert. "Happy birthday dear Akari, happy birthday to you!" Her parents finished, their tones off key but beautiful nonetheless. Akari had been blessed the second her parents picked her out. She had been one of thirteen orphans, some of which were younger than she had been. She couldn't imagine what would have happened had she not been chosen by Aiko and Kai that day. She likely would have gone down an unsavory path, one filled with te- "Akari, open your present!" Her mother said, glee evident in her tone. This snapped Akari out of her thoughts. After all, she hadn't been expecting a gift. Her father worked for a tech company that specialized in making Psycher's equipment, meaning they were quite well off. However, she never asked for much, aside from parts and ammunition for her two nine millimeter pistols. The guns were quite loved, having been gifted to her by her brother at the age of thirteen. Her mother hadn't approved, but her father eventually persuaded her to accept Akari's fascination with weaponry. "Present?" She asked, glancing at the table. It sat beside her cake, wrapped in iridescent paper that looked like an oil slick. Akari pulled it towards her, flipping over the label and practically squealing when she read the name written in bold print. "It's from Keiran!" She exclaimed, more of a statement than a question. "He sent me the blueprints and I had my team help me make them." Her father said, tapping his thumb against his side the way he did when he was anxious. The anticipation must've been killing him. Realizing this, Akari began to tear open the gift. Inside the paper was a carrying case, one similar to the case she used to carry her current guns. Offering up one last smile to her parents, she flicked open the latches and revealed what was inside. Nestled between dense foam were two of the most beautiful weapons she had ever seen. She picked one up, eager to gauge their weight and see how comfortable they were in her hand. The fit was perfect, with just enough leeway for the size of her hand to grow without it becoming awkward to hold. She released the magazine, and found herself marveling at the fact that they were lightweight and solid. She looked up at her father, and before she could even ask how it worked he was rattling off an explanation. "It runs on a system called a laser-excited ion pulse. The magazines you have are full of gas, and they get superheated by a laser in the chamber. Plasma comes out of the muzzle." He grinned at her, proud of his work. "The magazines are refillable but a few more are in the making so you don't have to worry about running out of ammo." "Dad, they're amazing!" She exclaimed, slipping the gun back into its container before jumping out of her seat and running to her father. She wrapped him up in a hug, before turning to her mother and repeating the gesture. "I have to go test them!" Her parents nodded in agreement. Forgetting all about her birthday cake, Akari grabbed her new pistols' carrying case and rushed out the door, heading straight to the range.
