Together with her two brothers, they shared an incredible upbringing. However, unlike her siblings, Yui didn't have much of a drive to reach any pinnacle of strength. In fact, she didn't have much of a drive to do anything. She did what her parents told her, but only did the bare minimum. Unlike her brothers, she didn't train until her organs shifted in her body and she vomited blood. Her aptitude was there, but her determination wasn't. While she didn't have much drive for fighting invaders, her parents certainly did. They instilled upon her hundreds of years of military knowledge and technique. From feudal times to the Second Genesis, her family had taken arms during every conflict. Yui, along with her siblings, was to do the same for the future. Without any real reason to decline the future her parents created for her (besides saying she didn't feel like it—an invalid excuse), she had applied to the 2nd Tactical Arts Academy: Yamato. Styled in the manner of a traditional Japanese sword, Okinami lacks one fundamental: the tsuba. Lacking any sort of hand guard, the sword adheres to one principal: absolute offense. The blade of the sword consists of two components. The outer layer is made from an extremely durable alloy that protects a wire core. Made from a highly unstable element, the ultra-heavy core rapidly decays into two ultra-light isotopes. However, when electricity passes through the core, the isotopes reform into the core. This means that the blade can, using electricity stored within the hilt, freely control its own weight via controllers within the battle wrap, from 5 pounds to 75. • Psychic Drive: Yui has the ability to supercharge her internals in stages. Affectionately named Ignition Engine, Yui can forcefully increase her physical capabilities at a cost to her health. This generally only lasts for short durations, however. When her Ignition Engine wears off, her body begins to revert to its original form—at any cost. The duration and stage when she returns dictates the damage that results from the rapid changes. This can range from exhaustion and broken bones to, in worst case scenarios, death. The first stage puts every organ in her body into maximum overdrive. Her heart beats twice as fast and her brain works overtime. Each muscle tears itself into two, then rapidly regenerates. Each vein on her body swells to the surface and her skin turns a flush red. While the strain is tremendous, her physical capabilities practically double. The second stage starts a dangerous metamorphosis. Her skin begins to crystallize and resemble durable scales. Her internal body heat begins to boil her blood and her physical capabilities begin to double once again. Most notably, a crystalline horn begins to form on her forehead, along with small crystal spikes that form on her back. For the sake of her own safety, Yui has only gone beyond the first stage once. For a military family, discipline was key. From a young age, they were to be trained into the finest soldiers the Nakamuras could offer to the world. For Yui, this was a hellish training session that she participated in out of obligation. For mere training, it was absurd. Push a car half a kilometre? Sure, it was a kei car, but what sort of father forced their twelve year old child to push a car that far? Despite her objections, she pushed. Foot after foot, the car moved towards its goal. Her bones ached and her muscles screamed at her. Soon, the back tires passed over a thick white line. "Aaaaand I'm done." Yui collapsed onto the ground and her voice rang out like a hymn from the angels. Even if it was only self-assurance, it was a brief moment of respite. An exasperated sigh escaped from the lips of her father as he walked away from her. Her exhausted body refused to listen to any command her brain sent. She just wanted to lay on the ground and take in the sun. Breath in the atmosphere, as they would say. It was a really nice day out. She would easily beat up one of her brothers to get some snacks and a nice book. To just laze in the summer heat would be enjoyable, she thought. Much more enjoyable than training. "Yui!" That cruel voice yelled out, "time for sword practice!" With a heavy groan, Yui sat up from her lazy stupor. If only to get another moment lazing around, she would train. Well, it wasn't like she had anything better to do, anyways.
