He sat on the platform, holding the letter in his hand. Pursing his lips, he read it again. “You are here to learn how to take my place when the time comes. You may be upset with me now, but my dear you will understand Everything when the day arrives. You will become a God/Goddess Your own.” "Well, that's one way to scare me shitless..." he murmured, a bit perturbed. One moment, he was sitting in his room, minding his own business, when bam, he was here. In... Well, whatever this place was called. For a mother, she needed to learn subtly. It wasn't exactly her strong suit. Well, at least the woman that had given him the letter was pretty. He chuckled at the thought. Still sitting on the platform, Ryko looked down at the others, others he assumed to be deities, like him. Though, he had no idea of what. He uncrossed his legs and let them dangle over the edge, smiling gleefully at the others down below. This aught to be fun. He jumped down from the platform, landing safely on the outer court of the temple. Well, on the tree it sat on anyway. Curious, he walked through the double doors into the temple. Temple of Thea, eh? He'd never met her, though he'd like to. She was the one that had blessed him with his light arrows after all. As he walked the halls of the temple, he left his hand run over the cold stone walls, his mind already leaving him. His thoughts went to small girl in the heart of America. He sighed. The girl was struggling to survive, hiding on the streets. Probably an old memory of a live already lived. He closed his eyes and willed the memory to go away. This person was probably close to death and the memories were a way of telling him this. He sighed and found a small table to sit at in one of the smaller rooms. In it were bookshelves filled with miscellaneous texts. He put his elbow on the table and began rubbing his temple, trying to focus. The girl was now... an old man, about 65 or so. Cancer... Ryko sighed. He gave the command and the heart monitor in the hospital began to beep like crazy, doctors and nurses swarming the man. When Ryke opened his eyes again, there was a small soul sitting across from him, a little small blue orb floating. He smiled and took the soul in his hands. He'd always loved this part. The orb was warm to the touch and simple stunning. However, when Ryko picked it up, he could feel ever memory, good or bad. He sat for a few moments, shifting through them best he could and then decided on a reincarnation. He smiled at the orb and kissed it gently. As he did, the orb poofed and was gone, already inside the stomach of a human woman, ready to be born again. He sighed, sitting at the table, a few minutes after the task had been completed. He glad to finally have a place where people might actually understand him. Plus, he didn't have to keep moving so that people wouldn't realize how immortal he really was. 119 wasn't exactly within the 'human' lifespan. Though, he still felt like a teenager. Maybe he always would. Who knew? He only knew one thing, his job was his life and despite it's difficulties, he enjoyed it. It gave him purpose and drive. It gave him reason. With it, he felt powerful and alive. Then again, maybe that wasn't a good thing. He chuckled at himself again and laid down on the table, staring up at the ceiling. Surely, the others would come soon.
