Whilst he can be cold at times, he's actually quite friendly with people...as long as they aren't annoying. He can be blunt at times, especially when lives are at stake and due to the nature of a Shinigami's work, he may come off as blunt and cold more often than he'd like but he feels there is no other way to get a point across. He likes to mess about, start fights, take on stupid challenges and just about anything else that gets his blood pumping...he's probably more of a menace to society but he's passionate about what he does...he just wants to do it his way. And that way often results in him barely making it out of things alive and spending days recovering in Squad 4, he was like this in the Academy, challenging anyone who'd accept. Yusuke though is eager to prove everyone wrong that doubts him, that's why he pushed so hard to go into a Squad that wasn't Squad 11, and although he'd likely fit in there extremely well, he desires more strength than simply that of waving your sword about. Although he looks like a fool, he's somewhat smart, at least when it comes to learning useful things, he did surprise the teachers at the Academy by learning all the Kido they taught in a few months.
