Anatole is the second son of the prominent Rustavyan figure Kazimir Koltovsky and his wife, Elisabeth who is the minister of Public Health in Rustavya. Because of this, Anatole grew up living a life of grand excess, growing up with among the Rustavyan noble families. His older brother, Sergei was especially closed to Vasya Nikolayveich, the illegitimate son of the Rustavyan King Nicholas III. As a result of this, Anatole grew up in close company with the Rustayvan heir to the throne, Tsesarevna Verena. A part of her circle of friends, Anatole was particularly notable for being involved with Yelena Fabergé- a Rustavyan Grand Duchess and one of Tsesarevna Verena's closest friends. In Rustavya, Anatole is famous for developing a serious of tech startups and firms, and often collaborates with the Rustavyian intelligence (ISB) and was inducted into the cabinet as an auxiliary officer at the age of 23. Since then, Anatole is slowly entering the realm of politics and international diplomacy- he likes the latter. Anatole in general dislikes the spotlight, which is why he dislikes politics. Far more of a back-room enthusiast, Anatole is the person you go to if you need things done, no questions asked. It's why he likes international diplomacy so much- it gives him the privilege of hiding and working behind the scenes.

If you ask Anatole about his life, he'd say it was largely uneventful. He had a fairly normal family structure- his parents are happily married, he's pretty close to his brother, they had pet dogs. Like most noble children of his caliber, Anatole was sent to boarding school but ended up graduating two years ahead of his year. He found most subjects to be exceedingly boring and preferred to study by himself in the library, or engage with teachers in debates and arguments in private. He was a bright, promising student. Often times, it was hard to even believe that Anatole and Sergei were related- at school, Sergei was notorious for pulling pranks, skipping classes, and being quite a scandalous playboy. He really was not close to many people and preferred the solitude of the library and his own room most of the time. Anatole was none of these things. Upon his graduation, Anatole returned home and would often help his parents- he interned for a year with both of them before venturing out on his own.

In Rustavya, Anatole is a prominent businessman and entrepreneur. Anatole developed his first software at the age of 16, which he later sold a year later for a considerably (undisclosed ofc, this is Rustavya) sum of money. Using the profits as capital, Anatole was able to start his first company at the age of 18. A tech startup, Anatole's companies were mostly software based. See, ordinary.

Except that it's not. At the age of 21, Anatole discovered that he was in fact a Veredunian prince. How did he do so? At the time, there was a craze for DNA testing going on in Rustavya. Independant companies (similar to Ancestry, etc) had become popular and promised their clients with comprihensive knowledge about thier genetic background. Aantole was curious and so, he signed up in secrecy. After all, one couldn't blame him. He'd never met either one of his grandparents- his parents had claimed both had died before either Sergei or Anatole was born. His parents also claimed that they had no extended family at all. Anatole thought it would be a great aniversary gift to give his parents- track down a long-lost relative. Little did he know that the long-lost relative in question would be the fearsome Veredunian Empress herself. For two months, Anatole said nothing and concealed this information from his parents as he tried to do research himself. One evening, when his parents were out attending a formal event, Anatole began to investigate the house. He started with his mother's office and ended in his parents bedroom. He found nothing. Not wanting to cause a stir, Anatole approached the only Veredunian he knew- Erik von Rothschild. At the time, Erik happened to be one of Yelena's friends. However, after Anatole confided in Erik, he revealed to him that Erik was in fact a Veredunian Prince. Therefore, the plan was that Erik would take back some genetic material of Anatole's to be tested in Veredun by his sister, Juliet. He would then tell Anatole the results.

But of course, things didn't work out that way. When Juliet tested Anatole's samples, she found the results to be shocking- they were far too close to her own to be just another distant member of the Veredunian nobility. But for any more conclusive information, she would need samples of his parents. And thus, Anatole went on another covert operation- when his parents were asleep, he took a strand of each of their hair and sent it back with Erik for testing. When Juliet tested his mother's hair, she was shocked- the results revealed that Anatole's mother, Elisabeth was Juliet and Erik's own mother's sister. All Erik was supposed to do was to inform Anatole of this information. Instead, he confronted Elisabeth in her house, revealing the whole plan. Not able to conceal it any longer, Elisabeth finally explained the whole situation- she was in fact Empress Catherine's daughter and twin sister to Erik's mother, Serafina. For whatever reason, Elisabeth had been raised in a remote Dacian military base, separated from all her siblings- she was taken there shortly after the death of their father, Emperor Frydrik IX. Here, she met her future husband, Kazimir and at the age of 24, they got married. Since then, she never returned to Veredun. The reason for this was two-fold: Empress Catherine did not approve of Kazimir as he was Rustavyian. At the time, the relation between the two states was particularly bad. She thought of him to be a threat to Veredunian security as he was a Rustavyian noble. However, when she eventually did come around, Empress Catherine decided to use her daughter as a political spy- Elisabeth would never openly recegonize her Veredunian titles and would remain in Rustavya until she was instructed to do so as Kazimir's wife. In the mean time, she would work her way close to the King and spy on him for her mother. No one could ever find out. Because of this, not even her children were told of their true heritage. And now that Anatole knew (Sergei was told about a year later- both his parents feared his immaturity, but Anatole convinced them to trust their son. They were right. He freaked), no one else could ever learn of it until Empress Catherine said so. This would also be the last time he surprised his parents. Ever.

Following Anatole's relevation, he made it a point to grow closer to Erik- he wanted to know more about his 'family.' Though, he soon found out that Erik was not the correct source to learn about his family through. Thus, he began conducting his own independent research into Veredun- he learned its history, cultural landscape, geography, political structure and of course, its royal family. It was his way of being connected to Veredun after all.

As Anatole grew older, his companies became more and more successful. His latest venture, Solaris was particularly successful. Solaris was a tech startup, but unlike Anatole's other ventures, it did not deal in software. Instead, Anatole branched out into drones and created a new and improved gps system. His technological innovation led to his involvement with the Rustaviyan intelligence (ISB), though it's hard to say to what degree. Again, what he has achieved will remain highly confidential. At the age of 23, Anatole was inducted into the cabinet as an auxiliary officer. Following this, Anatole began to be introduced into the world of politics and diplomacy- something he had been quite removed from previously. While he found internal Rustavyian politics to be unsuited to his tastes ([i]"don't challenge the professionals"[/i]), he was interested in international diplomacy. Not particularly a fan of the spotlight, Anatole did enjoy back-room diplomacy in general.

Why he's in Acrias? That is up to his mother. A dutiful son, Anatole is simply carrying out what he was instructed to do: keep an eye on Erik and make sure he doesn't do anything too stupid and reckless in general. But of course, nothing in life is so simple and black and white. There is another reason as to why Anatole is here as well. And he doesn't intend on making that reason public anytime soon.

While in Acrias, no one with the exception of Erik and Vera knows about Anatole's heritage as a Veredunian prince. To everyone around him, he is just a Rustavyian noble who is friends with Vera and Erik. And in respect to his Veredunian heritage, Anatole has little to no impact on the functions of Veredun- political and diplomatic. From time to time, he collaborates with Veredunian tech firms and engineers but that's about it. Having said this, Anatole is also racking up quite an impressive career in international diplomacy. But naturally, the topics of his accomplishments tend to be largely confidential. 

Also, Anatole was involved with Yelena Fabergé previously. But today, they remain nothing but friends.

Almost blonde in the sunlight, Ophelia's hair is a rich, dark brown indoors. This contrasts against her blemish-free, porcelain, milky-white skin. Her eyes are perhaps the most captivating feature about her- a piercing, emerald green. Ophelia is also known for her prominent, sharp features, particularly her high cheekbones- have you heard of anything more Veredunian? Tall and slim, Ophelia has an athletic build and a great metabolism. And her equestrian and ballet background has to thank for that. As physically striking Ophelia is, it is Ophelia's personality and general demeanor that is truly captivating. To be quite frank, Ophelia is one of the most universally adored figures in Veredun. Nicknamed the "crown jewel of the Valois bloodline," or the "swan princess," most people who meet Ophelia inadvertently end up liking her. Because of this, she has very few enemies who actually have malicious intent towards her. For the most part, she is generally well-liked and thus, people tend to be extremely protective of her. Because of this, she grew up quite sheltered and tends to be very naive and innocent. But even so, she does her best to be more than a generic, privileged Veredunian duchess and tries to make the world a better place in her own way.

Ophelia de Valois is the princess of the Valois bloodline- the one that everyone loves to fawn over. In an environment of strong, intimidating women, Ophelia is uncharacteristically soft. Cultured and compassionate, Ophelia grew up with a deep respect for nature and an adoration of Veredunian culture. She grew up in the center of attention and spotlight as a child prodigy- a violinist, she was performing publicly as early as the age of 7.

But life was not always as happy as Ophelia may have wanted it to be. Her parents died when she was still a child because of which, Ophelia was raised largely by her grandparents. Distant and aloof, Ophelia spent more time with her maids and servants as opposed to her own grandparents. However, because of their demanding schedules, she only really saw them on the weekends. Thus, she spent most days by herself- classic, rich girl problems right? Because of this, she tried to keep herself as entertained as possible by taking up as many activities as possible- learning languages, playing classical musical instruments, reading, learning ballet, ridding horses- anything to keep her mind of the evident loneliness. Growing up in arguably one of the most beautiful palaces of Veredun, the Château de Fontainebleau, Ophelia was largely isolated from urban settlements, which meant that she grew up without other children around her. Thus, Ophelia's activities were her way of keeping her mind occupied.

At the age of 14 however, her life changed. For the first time, she found someone her own age. Near the Château de Fontainebleau was the Avon military base. Usually it was of no real consequence to her- people would come and go every year as they completed their military service. But when she was 14, for the first time, there was someone around her age at the military base- Erik von Rothschild. Ophelia ran into Erik for the first time in the woods- she was ridding her horse, and she found him swimming in a nearby pond. Curious, she decided to talk to him. Since then, both of them made it a point to meet each other regularly. She learned that he was stationed at the base while he completed his service and like her, he craved the company of someone around his age. Thus began an unlikely friendship. This friendship eventually blossomed into relationship a few months later.

In many ways, Erik was good for Ophelia. He brought genuine excitement into her life. He'd push her to do things she normally wouldn't consider doing- he made her adventurous. With him, she learned how to trust and rely on herself. But there were bad things too. Ophelia being the sheltered child she was had no idea how to deal with Erik's wild streak. She tried to keep up at first but that just resulted in her being put in increasingly comprising positions- she'd be discovered partying with him an his friends, often intoxicated. Her own family was not happy to say the least. Because it was Veredun, none of these scandals were published. But that hardly meant that the Valois bloodline approved. Empress Catherine most certainly did not.

Eventually, his wild lifestyle began to impact her own life. She soon found that she was loosing her discipline, threatening her future with ballet, equestrian sports and music. By the third year, their relationship was already strained due to obvious tensions from both sides. Ophelia was unable to keep up with his wild lifestyle and found his carefree attitude disturbing. He had no structure to his life, no real goals or aspirations at the time. Additionally, when Erik did complete his service, he was placed into the navy which meant that he was often psychically inaccessible for long periods of time. The distance and lack of communication had a tremendous impact on their relationship. Eventually, they broke up, but remained on cordial terms. After they broke up, Ophelia found her career turning for the better. After her military service, she was accepted as at the Veredunian National Ballet- her childhood dream. As she got older, she worked her way up to being a demi-soloist and eventually began to diversify into modeling. Modeling came naturally to her as a ballerina and unsurprisingly, she was a breakout star. Today, she is one of Veredun's most adored public figures and is renowned for her grace, elegance and her glamorous aesthetic.
