She heard names she recognized... Jason, Heidi... her classmates. Pain lanced through her skull and Aya curled deeper into herself, gritting her teeth. There was another voice. It flowed like music, dipping and weaving through her mind, something familiar in the cadence of it. Finally, Aya forced her eyes open. Her vision still swam and doubled, but she could barely make out a figure hovering above her, the warmth of its skin on her face. It was dark wherever she was, a farcry from the light and bustle of the city street. Aya squinted, fighting against the pain to get her senses to work. The ringing was slowly subsiding but her limbs still felt ill-fitted for her body, too heavy, too long, too tight, like nothing fit the way it was supposed to. "Wait," she managed in a small, strained voice. They were planning to go to Nocturn themselves. "They have guns." Jason and Heidi had powers, sure. But Aya didn't want them going in blind and getting shot. Wincing, Aya squeezed her eyes shut again against the headache. "They're waiting for us." Rubbing her eyes again she tried once more to open them. It was still so dark. "Where -- where are we? Is the monster still there? Where's everyone else?"
