Dan sighed as he left the hospital, both nervous and dreading the conversation ahead of him. The rest of the week had been uneventful for Dan, sure he had trained his Pokémon rigorously at each session with Rattata even evolving into Raticate, but he just couldn't look any of them in the eye, Especially Twiggy. In-between training Dan either secluded himself from others, not feeling like talking, and when he did dreading every second of it, he'd felt like shit, he did the worst thing anyone could do. He felt like he'd hurt everyone he cares about, just short of his biological family. But, even there, was a sense of hurt and bewilderment from his family from that they called a 'Idiotic and foolish decision'. The trip back Dan had knelt over the side of the boat....Holding the ball that contained Twiggy, he couldn't muster up any clever joke or his normal up-beat attitude, just a solemn 'I'm sorry' while holding back a cry. He was no trainer, he was useless. Someone who just hurt others and made shitty choices that hurt most. And if it didn't hurt people, it hurt Pokémon. After all, this wasn't the first time someone got seriously hurt during a battle.
When they got back into Shamba, Margo had challenged Indigo to a battle. Dan sighed and said with a wisp of sadness he tried to cover "Have fun you two. I'm tired so." He said as he trudged away. He didn't want to be around people. Not now. Maybe not ever.
