This is basically at the start of Season 2, but with the AU changes to the world. The UN no longer exists, it was a very temporary alliance. So at current, we are technically in the Flag Era of units, but the more advanced ones. GN drives have not yet been developed for use by the nations of the world, they're still working on it.

That being said, if you want to use something that shows up later on in the series, but sort of pull it back down to the levels of the other units, that's fine. Like you don't have to literally pilot a Flag. 

For Ranks, it's mentioned in the character sheet section in the OOC, my character will be the Commander, the rest should be basically anything below that. Which is pretty much anything other than a General or Admiral or something honestly. 

We will probably use US Airforce rankings as a guideline, with Commander replacing Captain. In this case, everyone else would probably be a Sergeant of some sort.

If someone wants to be a second or first lieutenant, also fine.
