The beams fired. They ripped through the air, streaking past the knights in some cases. One likely pierced right through Tyaethe, but the undead knight wouldn't likely care even if it was successful. Indeed, regardless of anything else, the witch seemed as if she was completely unable to stop the paladin's approach. But for some reason, even as that sword fell, even as it cleaved clear through her body, that grin never ceased. Perhaps the reason why would be obvious. There was almost no blood. In fact, the moment that the witch fell apart in two halves, any blood simply ceased to flow. The circles faded, and before her body hit the ground both pieces simply broke apart into a flurry of what looked like butterflies.
