🔷 Mythology 🔹 It has been revealed that several mythological heroes, throughout history, did in fact exist and were mutants. 🔹 Examples of these beings would be Heracles with super strength and Achilles with invulnerability. 🔹 Similarly, many gods follow along a powerset which is believed to have belonged to mutants, if vastly exaggerated in folklore. 🔹 Magic, as it was considered real, has been established to clearly accumulate in misunderstanding mutant powers. 🔹 It is also believed that miracles expressed in religious texts, as well as those performing them, were mutants displaying their powers of healing. 🔹 While originally split between believers in the supernatural and those who would deny these spectacular events of the past, it is now generally accepted that mutants are the source for these stories, if less bombastic than recorded. 🔹 Perhaps most of a grand reveal, was when vampirism and lycanthropy were revealed to have been infectious mutations caused by a powered host. 🔹 Even the belief in undeath hails from certain, rare cases of mutants able to infect others, or dead bodies, with a virus which turned them into what is described as zombies. 🔷 History 🔹 Two hundred years ago, in 1819, mutants were officially recognized as a species. 🔹 Despite this, the vast population of the western world still believed that they were some form of supernatural being. 🔹 Due to this belief, mutants were vastly shunned, discriminated against and hunted throughout the west. 🔹 This continued until the end of the 1800s, when science proved that mutations were purely biological, and not at all magical in their nature. 🔹 People who had previously been branded as devils due to their appearance or their abilities were now branded as freaks of nature, instead. 🔹 A larger split between the medical, scientifical and religious circles was starting to grow, concerning the nature of mutations. 🔹 Governments, mainly in America, had begun to secretly experiment on mutants at the start of the 1900s. 🔹 Due to an overlaying distrust for them, mutants were strictly forbidden from joining the armed forces or law enforcement. 🔹 However, when world war one started in 1914, various countries throughout Europe began to covertly use mutants as weapons. 🔹 This was only expanded upon with the arrival of world war two. 🔹 Following the structural development of western countries after the major wars, mutants were being slowly integrated into society. 🔹 Current year, 2019, mutants have access to the full repertoire afforded any human by rights of their existence, in America and large parts of the west.

🔷 Mutant Venues 🔹 There are several platforms where mutants are represented, mainly in discussions and debates. 🔹 There are mutant only clubs built throughout Azure City, but tend to close down, fast. The lack of mutants is often overshadowed by how vastly overrepresented they are. 🔹 Restaurants where mutants cook food using their powers is a spectacle, and are popular attractions. These restaurants require strict permits. 🔹 Stores offering aid for young mutants growing into their powers are usually present, if their merchandise isn't being sold in pharmacies. 🔹 Examples of this would be power dampening pills prescribed by a doctor, or medical restraints. 🔷 Pop Culture 🔹 Mutants in pop culture are incredibly common. 🔹 Most mutants able to preform, using their powers, do so. 🔹 Others who simply look unique because of their mutations flaunt it, quite aggressively. 🔹 Directors actually love hiring mutants for movies to save on the costs for special effects. 🔹 Superhero movies are seen everywhere. 🔹 Toys of actual heroes and vigilantes row store shelves and are a commodity for most children. 🔷 Jobs 🔹 Where mutants were previously shunned and discarded in the workplace, they are now hired more frequently than ever. 🔹 Super strength is essentially a straight path into any manual labor job. 🔹 Need something done fast? Hire someone with super speed. 🔹 Any mutant with a power which would benefit the employer find themselves offered a myriad of jobs. 🔹 This has, clearly, upset countless humans.

🔷 Mutant Supression Unit, MSU. 🔹 A military organization ran by mutants, which targets mutants. 🔹 Specialized solely on rogue mutant criminals, the Mutant Suppression Unit, or MSU, is a government outfit hiring only mutants into its ranks. 🔹 This militaristic outfit has often been considered the mutant FBI, and with good reason. 🔹 The MSU has a reputation of being ruthless, and many rumors surround them, some of which are true. 🔹 Destroying the target is the most common order issued to an MSU agent unless they specifically wish to apprehend a villain for further interrogation or research. 🔹 While publically known, the MSU acts in the shadows and none of their assignments are public knowledge. 🔷 Mutant Schools 🔹 For the safety of human children, and proper care of mutant students, mutant only schools have been erected. 🔹 From kindergartens to high schools, these venues are designed to deal with children growing into their powers. 🔹 That includes all the unstable accidents accompanying this development. 🔹 Teachers at mutant schools are required to be mutants themselves, and are trained to deal with unstable powers. 🔹 Due to the small number of mutants in America, only a few of these schools are built, with no more than two hundred students per school. 🔷 Bio-Organic Institute 🔹 A governmental research facility working only on the nature of mutations. 🔹 This also includes hospitals designed to care for mutants, particularly. 🔹 The Bio-Organic Institute controls the entire mutant oriented healthcare system in America. 🔹 They also produce, license and approve medicine designed to treat power related wounds, or unstable abilities. 🔷 Mutant Prisons 🔹 It is clear that all mutants cannot be held within normal, everyday prisons. 🔹 Due to this, special containment facilities have been built to hold the more powerful and destructive villains. 🔹 Like ordinary prisons, there are different security levels at mutant containment facilities, based on the crimes commited, and the powers of the individual.

🔷 The Workplace 🔹 While mutants are sought after on the job market, both the employer and the mutant in question require a permit for power usage in the workplace. 🔹 Insurance specifically for power related injuries needs to be applied for. 🔹 Upon being hired, mutants may need to display the powers they claim to have, which is allowed with a representative from the Bio-Organic Institute present. 🔹 Permits and insurance are all filled out during employment, following a background check sent in by the employer, and the mutant. 🔹 Mutant powers in the workplace are considered work tools and fall under the same regulations as any other aid used during the performance, including safety measures. 🔹 A permit which allows a mutant to use their powers during work does not extend to after hours. 🔷 In Public 🔹 At home, a mutant may do as they please, as long as it doesn't involve the risk of anyone else. 🔹 Publically, a mutant is required to apply for a permit, to use their powers. 🔹 Passive abilities which cannot be controlled will be overlooked unless suppressive aid from the Bio-Organic Institute is warranted. 🔹 An offensively active mutant power falls under the same jurisdiction as a loaded weapon, and require the same background check and mental health regulation. 🔹 A mutant without a permit using their powers are never allowed to do so, in public areas. 🔹 Any mutant who assaults another person will be considered to have been using a loaded weapon. 🔷 Documentation 🔹 When born and tested, mutant children are assigned a caseworker from the Bio-Organic Institute. 🔹 It is mandatory to attend meetings with the caseworker bi-annually, concerning the child's powers and their development. 🔹 Every mutant's ability is documented in their personal files. 🔹 On every mutant's ID, it clearly states that they are, in fact, a mutant.

🔷 Birth 🔹 For two humans to produce a mutant has been established to be possible in 0,6 percent of cases. 🔹 A human and a mutant push this chance up to a twenty percent chance for a mutant offspring. 🔹 Two mutants will produce a mutant child. 🔹 The child's powers may not have any relation to the parents. 🔷 Mutations 🔹 Mutants have displayed a vastly different span of colorful abilities throughout the years. 🔹 It is very common for mutants to display physical abnormalities, as well, unrelated to their acting abilities. 🔹 It is wildly individual when mutations first reveal themselves. 🔹 Most commonly, mutations begin to show themselves when the mutant reaches puberty. 🔹 More destructive abilities tend to reveal themselves in response to emotional outbursts. 🔹 Passive abilities generally develop first.

🔷 Behaviour 🔹 Be mature. 🔹 Communication is the golden road to success, don't be afraid to express yourself. 🔹 Be civil when you express yourself. 🔹 A polite approach will take you far. 🔹 Don't be passive aggressive. 🔹 If you have a problem with another player, take it up with me. There is no use in crowding someone. 🔹 I personally do not care how inflammatory someone is, but to make it pleasant for everyone, don't actively try to push any buttons. 🔷 Responsibilities 🔹 I am here every day. 🔹 I do not expect the same level of commitment from others, but I do expect weekly attendance. 🔹 If your last IC post was seven (7) days ago, I will scratch you from the RP. 🔹 Anyone stuck in a scene for days, waiting for someone else, is welcome to write themselves out of it. 🔹 If you address your vacancy beforehand, you are welcome back whenever you're no longer busy. 🔷 Characters 🔹 I expect to see fully fledged characters submitted. 🔹 No WIPs in the OOC, please. 🔹 You are welcome to be as dark and gritty, or colorful and bombastic as you want. 🔹 You can tackle whatever taboo theme you want. 🔹 Your character can be as sexist, homophobic, racist, etc, as you want, as long as it actually fits their personality. 🔹 You can use whatever kind of picture, or lack thereof, for your character, be it drawn or real. 🔹 Write your character the way you're most comfortable, just keep the important bits there. 🔹 There is no magic, only mutations. 🔹 There are no fantasy races, but it is likely possible to reflect their appearance with mutants. 🔹 There are no aliens. 🔹 When you post your character, do so in hiders. 🔷 Potatoe 🥔

🔷 The Powers 🔹 Your character can have one power. 🔹 This power can have several subsets revolving around its main aspect. 🔹 Someone with enhanced strength would naturally have increased physical resistance or you'd lose your arm with one punch. 🔹 I do not want to see any mind control powers. 🔹 No time travel powers. 🔹 No powers that replicate other people's powers. 🔷 The Drawbacks 🔹 Not every power has a direct, harmful effect on the user. 🔹 However, I expect some sort of limitation or drawback added to the power. 🔹 Everything has a limit. 🔷 The Additions 🔹 You are welcome, and encouraged, to give your character ahestetic mutations. 🔹 Unnatural hair and eye colors, animalistic features, etc. 🔹 You can have as many aesthetic mutations as you want. 🔹 They do not affect the actual power level of your character, but rather adds more color to them. Personality 🌑 Nico is incredibly laid back. 🌑 He is quite playful. 🌑 The mutant is not above funny pranks or an impulsive lifestyle. 🌑 Though his on-stage persona is quite flamboyant, Nico is very down to earth. 🌑 He is calm, collected and some would even say serene. 🌑 It is fair to say that Nico is generally polite and respectful. 🌑 Indeed, Nico is curious, probably too much so. 🌑 His love for animals is immense, and the amount of money Nico has donated to animal shelters is absurd. 🌑 Nico is quite prone to a good time and enjoys fun activities such as visiting amusement parks. 🌑 Despite being humble in his everyday life, he does love jumping onto a table and singing, if asked. 🌑 Nico is quite in love with physical affection and does not shy away from hugs or similar displays. 🌑 Typically, the mutant is forgiving and lets bygones be bygones. 🌑 He is not very sensitive, and despite a fragile appearance, does not seem affected by insults or remarks regarding his appearance. 🌗 On the flip side, when Nico was actively acting out his nightlife as a vigilante, he was ruthless and could even be considered incredibly sadistic. 🌗 Nico does not believe in sending extreme cases to jail. 🌗 While his morality dictated the gravity of a committed crime, Nico, or Rayne at the time, rarely wasted his breath on petty wrongdoings. 🌗 Rather, Nico would target organized crime suits, with a zealous intent. 🌗 He had a particular hatred for those dabbling in trafficking, especially with mutants. 🌗 Animal cruelty tended to tip him over the edge, easily. 🌗 It would be a lie to claim that Nico didn't enjoy killing and torturing villains to death, depending on their crimes. 🌗 A therapist might claim that he is, in fact, a sociopath. 🌗 He is not a psychopath, considering how he displays a notable amount of empathy. Origin
🌑 Nico was born on a farmstead, in the Italian countryside. 🌑 He was christened Nico Devina, soon after birth, a name he continued to use throughout his long life. 🌑 Nico's parents were already decently old when he was born. 🌑 Since an incredibly early age, Nico was taught to care for animals and quickly grew to love their company. 🌑 It was no secret that the Devina farmstead was harboring a 'devil child', as had been described by the local church. 🌑 In a religious community such as the Italian countryside as far back as the year 1929, one would surely be forgiven for assuming the boy a spectacle. 🌑 Despite this, Nico maintained a rather positive outlook on life, mainly due to a stable home, loving parents and friends in the shape of furry critters. 🌑 School, especially back in the day, was quite a hassle to deal with, for Nico. 🌑 However, friendship was not unheard of, as Nico did find himself enjoying the company of others. 🌑 It was at the age of nine that Nico discovered his love for singing and music. 🌑 At his mother's suggestion, and most certainly her encouragement, Nico decided to pursue the interest further with beginner's lessons. 🌑 This was also the first time Nico realized that he loved being on stage. 🌑 Additionally, it was quite notable how Nico was linguistically inclined, considering how he managed to learn English relatively fast. 🌑 On the flipside, Nico was horrible at most other subjects not revolving around stage performance and languages. 🌑 At the age of twelve, close to starting high school, Nico experienced his first crush. 🌑 It was quite important, as emotional responses typically prompt mutant genes to develop in various ways. 🌑 At this age, Nico also came to the conclusion that his body appeared to develop somewhat differently, than the others, due to his mutant nature.

🌑 Thirteen years old. the year was 1942, and Nico had moved to America with his parents. 🌑 The farmstead wasn't doing very well, and considering the war, America was the best, and safest option to live a decent life. 🌑 Considering Nico's ability to speak English, integration wasn't very difficult on his part, not so much for his parents. 🌑 Even so, Nico's mother managed to pick up a job at a factory due to the war. 🌑 Being too old to join the army, Nico's father had the ability to open a bakery. 🌑 As an immigrant, and a mutant, during the second world war, Nico's time at school was quite horrid. 🌑 On the flipside, Nico's career as a singer continued to develop, especially considering how the pursuit for positive outlooks was an attempt to counteract the misery spread by the war in Europe. 🌑 Perhaps a stupid decision, but it was also during this time, where crime was incredibly common due to organized activity, that Nico decided to put on a corny, self made suit of his own. 🌑 Though the boy never learned how to formally fight in any physical manner, his powers luckily offered a more creative alternative. 🌑 Like many, if not most, aspiring naive heroes, Nico's reasons to dress up like a fool and save people from gangsters was because he had the will and the means to do so. 🌑 He would be lying if he denied that it was a terrifying, if exhilarating experience. 🌑 Balancing school, his music career which was still in the early stages of development and his life as a vigilante proceeded until Nico was twenty-seven years old. 🌑 At this point, his inability to age was known by the public, considering a more popular standing as a now successful and by all accounts unique musician. 🌑 At thirty, Nico's parents passed away within four months of each other due to faltering health. 🌑 Their passing was of natural causes, though left Nico quite mellow during his time of mourning. 🌑 As is the natural passing of time, Nico eventually grew to accept the situation. 🌑 However, events would transpire which proceeded to change Nico quite drastically.

🌑 The early two-thousands, and Nico had since some time back established himself as a pop singer with a notable amount of wealth and popularity. 🌑 Though life was good, as one says, Nico soon came to face a life-changing tragedy. 🌑 The hero had refrained from killing since the day he put on a suit, he had acted by a code of conduct and maintained a level head, as many heroes did. 🌑 However, Nico was informed that a man he had put behind bars managed to escape. The man returned to his wife and daughter, only moments before resuming the horrific crimes which had warranted vigilante intervention. 🌑 After prolonged abuse, the man killed his wife, his daughter, and then himself. 🌑 One could perhaps consider it a natural development, that Nico blamed himself for the consequences of transpired events. 🌑 Adding salt to a wound which had been viciously torn open, one of the victims, a young girl at the age of fourteen, was not only a fan of Nico's vigilante persona, looking up to him. She was always an adoring follower of Nico's music. 🌑 Following these developments, Nico began looking into the large number of villains he had offered to the police, unconscious and ready to be jailed. 🌑 Several of these villains, especially leaders of crime outfits, had been let off due to the silver tongue of lawyers. 🌑 At this point, Nico understood how much he had actually missed. After leaving the villains for the police, he would generally drop the issue, which he now understood was a mistake. 🌑 In his many years as a vigilante, Nico had maintained a naive perspective, and world view, where moral obligation rose above a permanent solution. 🌑 He was left to question himself on how many people had died, suffered and been torn apart, because of his inability to do what was effective, rather than right. 🌑 Nico took a year off from the role of a vigilante, where he contemplated his position and took time to visit the many suburbs of America, not as a vigilante, but as a civilian. 🌑 He would consider this journey one of a spiritual nature. 🌑 Once the passing of a year had concluded, Nico had seen the effects of organized crime through the eyes of someone who wasn't wearing a mask.

🌑 The taking of a life is an act no one can come back from, a conscious decision to neglect a lesson taught since childhood, that every life is sacred. 🌑 Once that threshold is passed, when a person's worth is not measured by virtue of their existence, but by the consequences of their actions, a certain, jaded nuance takes center stage. 🌑 "I'll give the monsters a monster of their own." 🌑 Nico returned to the scene, casting aside a naivete found in those who refuse to do what, to Nico, is necessary. 🌑 It was a change seeping into his soul, but a darkness he accepted because it made a difference. 🌑 Nico acquired a new outfit, and a new weapon to reflect his darkened return. 🌑 Perhaps the most terrifying part of Nico's development was learning that he, in fact, loved it.

🌑 Present day, Nico spends his life in a wealthy penthouse apartment, parties and on a stage. 🌑 Six years prior, he hung up the vigilante, or as he would call it, the Avenger role. 🌑 Organized crime is surely happy to know that Rayne is gone, but not even he knows exactly for how long that will last.
Notable Relations 🌑 George Vance. 🌙 Nico's bodyguard. 🌙 He is aware of who Nico is, and his past as a vigilante. 🌙 Despite acting as bodyguard, George is the one who designed all of Nico's equipment. 🌙 As a retired soldier, George has aided Nico in his crusade while acting as his bodyguard. Likes 🌑 Animals. 🌑 Plushies. 🌑 Music. 🌑 Sweets, (too much). 🌑 Soda, (addicted). 🌑 Sushi. 🌑 Extreme violence. Everyday Skills 🌑 Singing. 🌙 Naturally, considering his occupation. 🌙 Nico's voice is quite androgynous, much like his appearance. 🌙 Throughout his long life, Nico has experimented with many different kinds of music. 🌙 Right now, he really enjoys producing alternate rock.
Combat
Fighting Style 🌑 Nico's fighting style revolves entirely around his power. 🌑 This refers to his ability, where he manifests swords and uses them telekinetically. 🌑 He never uses any form of physical combat. 🌑 Pain, Nico loves inflicting pain, to the point where he is often heard laughing. 🌑 It is incredibly common for him to incapacitate targets, by nailing them down with summoned swords, and making a statement. Strengths 🌑 His power is unpredictable, and incredibly lethal, considering how Nico uses it. Weaknesses 🌑 Physically, Nico is incredibly weak. 🌑 His size and weight don't do him any favors, either. 🌑 Nico has no training or ability in hand to hand combat. 🌑 Neither does Nico have any training in firearms and despises them, due to their obnoxious, loud sound. 🌑 While Nico is small and nimble, he is nowhere close to a physically trained individual, considering how Nico's fighting style is mainly stationary. Equipment 🌑 Nico uses a simple, comfortable attire as his vigilante suit. 🌙 It has no special defensive ability. 🌙 The mask distorts Nico's voice, making it metallic, and ghostly.

🌑 In conjunction with his power, Nico conjures forth a blade designed by his close friend and bodyguard, George. 🌙 The sword Nico uses with his powers weighs two pounds. 🌙 It is designed from a highly durable steel alloy. 🌙 Though incredibly sharp, the blade isn't supernatural in any way. This ability also allows for a passive adjustment to the user's frame which is described below. Each replica created by the mutant in question is by all intents and purposes identical to the real article, meaning it's an exact copy. The replication is nearly instantaneous, and this is a Polykinetic hyper-specialized ability on a cellular level. Limitations and strengths as follows. 💥 Imprint For an item to be replicated by a Polykinetic, they have to manage a process dubbed 'Imprinting'. Upon touching an object, the mutant can connect with it, and then conjure forth replicas of the item, at will. Once the Polykinetic has Imprinted an item, he can manifest a replica of this item wherever he finds himself and no longer needs to have the original item in his possession to manage the feat. This is, of course, until he needs to Imprint with the item again, if another Imprint finds itself made, following the first. 💥 Weight The item cannot weigh more than four pounds. 💥 Quantity The Polykinetic can Imprint, and replicate one item at a time. He can make up to twenty copies of this item, but is limited to the one, single item he is Imprinted with. 💥 Supernatural Items The Polykinetic cannot replicate magical enchantments or temporary effects caused by other mutants. 💥 Substance The user can only replicate solid items. No substances to speak of. 💥 Biological Material A Polykinetic of this level cannot replicate anything which isn't inanimate. Biological material is beyond their ability. 💥 Time Each replica is permanent until the mutant allows it to disappear or until another replaces it. 💥 Usage Unlike many mutants and supernatural creatures, a Polykinetic's powers are entirely reliant on external forces. Their abilities cannot further any goals by themselves, as would be the case for a fire slinger or ice breather. Additionally, a Polykinetic's manifestations can only aid the user as far as the inanimate object he has imprinted is possibly capable of. In other words, the mutant requires an ingredient in the form of an object for their ability to be useful. 💥 Structure The mutant needs to understand the structure of the item he replicates, which means that more complicated objects require in-depth studies before the Polykinetic is able to use them. Due to this, simpler constructions with a sturdy core are preferred. 💥 Telekinetic Control The Polykinetic is able to control his replicas telekinetically. Summoning them into existence, he can move them about and launch them with the power of his mind. Hand movements make the process much easier. The mutant can, however, not use this ability on anything beyond his replicas. 💥 Agelessness Those born attuned to Polykinesis are quite unique in the way that their cells do not split, but rather they replicate. A cell deteriorates every time it splits which in turn causes aging. This appears entirely vacant in Nico's biological construction. Additionally, due to this, Nico's body is frozen in time and cannot shift, evolve or form in any manner beyond the point of maturity, when this ability took hold. It was when he turned sixteen. Features 🌑 Generally, Nico tends to launch his manifested swords like bullets at long distance targets. 🌑 Enemies at a short range are usually dealt with by slicing and carving motions of his blades. 🌑 His swords are Nico's source of everything. He uses them as offensive tools, and also as shields against attacks, whenever he is able. 🌑 If his ability is to develop, Nico is reliant on the weapon he is imprinted with to be improved. The original article is kept at his home. 🌑 Nico is too weak to actually swing any of the blades he summons. Pets 🌑 Nico has three German Shephards. 🌙 Lucifer, left. 🌙 Belial, middle. 🌙 Mephistopheles, right.
