Tinu has a fun-loving, friendly soul that tends to accidentally cause trouble from time to time. Their respect for life shines through in all aspects of their life, like their fighting style and their adamant refusal to eat meat. Often, they go on unannounced detours, enjoying meeting new people and seeing new places. They have a sense of humor that includes slightly annoying their friends, potentially to their chagrin. They have little difficulty empathizing with anything, ranging from the small and short lives of the pharaoh ant to the lives of people around them. Their biggest downfall is not only stubbornness, but also anger when people act without care for the world around them. They tend to be protective of life in general, being their friends’ lives or their enemies’. They strongly oppose against the act of killing in battle, the exception being Grimm. They are unafraid to do whatever it takes to uphold this value, even if it ends up ruining a mission. When there's someone injured or weak that requires aid, they're the first to throw themselves in front of them. If they can be a distraction and save a life, then they're succeeded in their eyes. This trait is more of a negative rather than a positive. It can lead to their making foolish actions in battle that negatively affect their health, not that they would care. Their protectiveness can also lead to emotional outbursts, especially when they feel as if people around them don’t realize the preciousness of life. In battle, Tinu tends to be playful and condescending, abusing others’ anger or annoyance to their advantage. This, along with their high mobility and their fighting style focusing on evasion, lets their play the role of decoy. They excel in the act of provocation and enjoys making their opponents feel played with. This allows them to fight defensively and avoid seriously hurting anything (except for the Grimm), while still being effective. Their main goal in battle is to abuse the enemy’s emotions to make them focus on them. Everyone has to be treated like they’re worth giving a chance.” The quote that defines Tinu is also one that comes from her mother’s teachings. Her mother’s great-grandparents had once been part of a tribe, one that was almost nomadic in nature. The teachings of the tribe had been of peace, that all living things were precious and connected and life was meant to be preserved. The nature of the people was tranquil. The culture of this long-forgotten tribe was passed on by Tinu’s lineage, and it was their duty to uphold these values. Upon hearing of Tinu’s want to learn to fight, her mother expressed disdain, yet not surprise. Her mother taught them a way to fight that would have the greatest chance of preserving life and taught them to travel the path of least resistance. This fighting style was defined by its’ coiling and uncoiling motions, swift and evasive in nature. The constant circular movements were made to represent something peacefully flowing through wind, and they were said to evoke the explosive power of it. Her mother hoped after learning this that they would still opt for a life of peace. But learning of Huntsmen and Huntresses only further increased their want to protect others. It was a profession that her mother first expressed disapproval of, telling them that it went against what they had been taught. Their opinion changed after witnessing Tinu go through several events in their life. They all had a similar pattern; a person, injured or simply physically weak, needed saving from someone larger than them. In all these situations, their semblance activated, diverting the bully’s attention from the other person long enough for them to escape. It wasn’t as if they had only done this when they knew they would come out safely, either. Many of those situations were with people much older and stronger than them, yet they showed little to no fear in the face of these events. After her mother became aware of this, she began to realize that the Huntsmen and Huntresses were the embodiment of the desire to preserve life. As a result, she allowed the young Tinu to begin studying more and more about the outside world, while still teaching them of their culture. They quickly became proficient enough in martial arts to take down Grimm, and their ability to fight them only improved. Her mother allowed them to apply for Beacon, and they had been accepted. They chose Beacon because of the name. Beacon made them think of a beacon of hope. A beacon of hope was something they wanted to be for everyone, no matter who that person was. _____________________ Their main motivation is their deep desire (and sometimes impulse) to protect everyone so that they themselves don’t have to. This ranges from children, to the elderly, to animals, and even to other fully capable students. They also believe that the spread their mother's teachings could change the world for the better, and even inspire the next generation to make a group based off of them. To become a Huntress would allow them to protect others with the ability to become respected enough for their ideals to be considered. “All Eyes On Me!” Tinu’s self-named semblance represents their desire to protect. To be activated, Tinu must first have eye contact with the target. When activated, Tinu makes their presence unbearably known to their target. The target would describe it as like they couldn’t keep their eyes off them no matter how hard they tried. The semblance requires concentration, meaning if they are hit or if something happens that makes them divert their attention from using the semblance, it’ll deactivate. The main downside to the ability is that because it requires extreme concentration, it becomes hard for Tinu to move without crashing into something and unconsciously deactivating the semblance. It can be activated in quick succession if it was consciously deactivated. If they were hit or something suddenly got their full attention, the semblance would not be able to be used for 60 seconds. Their eyes faintly glow yellow, the color of their aura, when the semblance is active. Most powerful with a team. The fans have both the ability to parry strikes when unfolded and to strike while folded. Both fans have air dust crystals imbued within them. The crystals can be charged, but only while the fans are unfolded. They are charged by either the wind itself or going through movement that is similar to the wind. In Tinu’s case, their fighting style perfectly compliments these weapons. Their aforementioned swift, circular, and flowing movements simulate the wind and allow the dust crystals to be charged (albeit slower than just having wind blow on them naturally.) If they were just moving and doing nothing else in an attempt to charge them, it’d take about a minute for them to fully charge. Only when the crystals are fully charged are when Tinu can fold the fan with the charged crystal. This releases the energy in the form of a blast of wind, one that can propel them in any direction she chooses (as long as the fan is pointing towards that direction). It can also be used to hit far away enemies.
