"You are the one responsible for the success in your life. There is no such thing as luck. Look out for opportunities so that you can make your mark." Those were the words that Richard's father spoke that made the most impact to his life. That inspired such ambition that he aggressively searched out for great opportunities. 

When he met his first mutant in the United States, he learned he was a vigilante. Immediately, Richard began to think of ways to add value to such a niche group. Some service he could provide in exchange for money or other forms of valuables. When he asked the vigilante what was the thing he needed the most the response was “I just need a place where I can get away. Protect my family from this life. Think things through sometimes.” At this point he had already built a real estate empire across various parts of the world.

“Where would you like your base to be?” Those word the words that came out of Richard’s mouth at that time. Before long he had his first client who set up an underground base in Azure City with bare necessities. The vigilante lacked the funds to cover the project, so Richard traded with him for information on others out there and set up a five year contract to act as a information resource in exchange for the base.

Richard’s first experience with a villain would be terrifying for most, however, for Richard it was pretty exhilarating. He was taken hostage and being taken away to secure their escape. While the failure of his bodyguards was briefly frustrating, he took the opportunity to observe and learn what he could from the villain. Eventually, the opportunity came to sell his services. The villain likely would kill him if he didn’t provide some value to the man, so he decided to trade his life for the villain’s new secret base: a high-rise suite in a building owned by his company. Again, Richard lost money on his first deal, but he managed to survive the experience and gain a valuable contact on the “other side”.

Eventually, Empire would be known among the vigilante and villain communities as an excellent service to provide a confidential base of operations in exchange for money, information, or a service contract. He became so trusted among the community that eventually he added a service as a mediator for negotiations between groups or individuals in need of neutral ground.

At this point, Empire’s services are growing constantly with plans to add a costume creation and repair service. Work contracts from individuals looking to pay vigilantes for work was recently added as a service and is continuing to be refined. Confidentiality is king, and anyone that starts a fight on Empire grounds will be excommunicated from the community with all services reneged and any confidential information becoming available for purchase.
