The punching exercises wasn't something she was used to; she was more of a runner and rarely dwelled outside of that routine, but that ended the moment she stepped in the gym. Jenna reminded herself to focus on her breathing as James had advised. He didn't need to tell her that Krav Maga was a demanding system for her to figure out that part. It was not due to the fighting style alone, but rather, the combination of physical training that was included as well. And even though she was breaking a sweat, Jenna was glad she had to put that much effort into the lesson. Out in the streets, the thugs wouldn't care how exhausted she was as they would do just about anything to get their way. She kept that in mind as she went on with James' help. Some time later, the two finally started going over defensive techniques. Jenna paid attention as James instructed her how to disarm someone with a gun, and as he went over the various steps, she imaged the technique to be somewhat similar if someone were to come up to her with a knife. But she obviously wouldn't grip the blade, so maybe all she had to do was go for their hand, or possibly their wrist. Either way, she figured she should learn sooner rather than later. Jenna went on with the current lesson until she felt comfortable enough to go through the steps on pure instinct. At first, she watched as James disarmed her, but then it was her turn when he handed her the fake gun. She worked slower at first to make sure she was doing everything correctly, but eventually, with enough practice, she appeared to be as good as James and a while later they both agreed that they didn't need to continue practicing the same technique. "Actually," she went on to answer his question, "can you teach me how you stop someone threatening you with a knife? That's another weapon they like to use out there."
