As a silence dragged on, the knight shifted nervously as she awaited an answer. Unfortunately, when he did finally reply, it was clear he was just as lost as her when it came to trying to get him out of this rather terrible situation. She hated feeling so powerless to do anything. The knight was usually able to find ways to slip around these difficult situations but for once, it seemed like there wasn't any route around the path the barons had laid out. Seeing the fear in his eyes, she felt a heavy wave of guilt wash over her. If she hadn't pushed Jane to go talk with the barons about Layth, it was unlikely that Mia would feel pushed to reach a decision on what to do with him. Crow could have still had time. When he suddenly wrapped his arm around her, she returned the gesture by moving to wrap one arm around him. She closed her eyes tightly and leaned her head against his as she felt him bury his head in her neck. Penelope used her free hand to gently stroke his head and remained quiet for a while, merely trying to comfort him as well as take comfort in his presence. There was still a way out of him losing his hands but it wasn't a sure thing and that alone made it difficult for the knight to be hopeful. Especially knowing both her uncle and Layth. After a moment of merely staying in his embrace, the knight pressed a kiss to the side of his head and let out a shaky sigh. "I'm so sorry, Crow...This is all my fault. If I hadn't pushed Jane to speak with them about Layth, they wouldn't have felt rushed to make a decision..." She admitted in a weak voice. It was difficult knowing that she had put the man she loved more than anyone else in such a position. Even though it had been an attempt to save him from her brother, it had backfired greatly. Penelope pulled back just enough to meet his gaze with her tearful one. Despite her eyes being a bit watery, she gave a look of desperate determination. "I'll do everything I can to change their minds tomorrow, I promise."
