[hider=miiba's story so far] Okay, so during the week after she is born: She learns to eat the Healing Herbs, and this becomes her primary food source. She learns who Crispy and Rattleskull are, and sees how the other Goblins follow their orders and what they do--hunting, mining, gathering wood, and fighting with other monsters. She learns she's one of Rattleskull's children, but her mother gave birth to multiple goblins at once which is unusual and thus died from it. Her "twin" can either be an unnamed goblin who's died by this point, one of Orchid's torchbearer NPCs Sqwal or Jezee, or the other character Digbie. However, she's learned by watching every other goblin's behavior that siblings don't really have bonds and neither do children towards their parents. The goblins act as one tribe, one family so to speak, but also don't act as a close knit and caring family. They are out for themselves first and foremost, and out for Goblins after their own needs have been met. And the rest of this time is spent surviving by instinct. On the 1st Day, she "awakens," and takes a more proactive stance in this world. She is forced to do hard labor after offering to help the goblins carry wood. Her weakness and gentleness is ridiculed and laughed at. She learns to try and stay unnoticed or in the background. She still ends up forced by Crispy to help other goblins mine Mana Crystals. In the process they're attacked by a Dire Rat, and if it weren't for being in a group she would not have survived. It bit and wounded her pretty badly, but the other goblins pulled it off and killed it. While mining she learned more about the Mana Crystals, but was unable to keep one because Crispy took it. She also found some shale rock that splits into layers easily, and from this she fashioned her brittle but workable Stone Shield. Lugging it around was very difficult due to its weight, and the other Goblins laughed at her for it. When Rattleskull forces her and a few other Goblins to go hunting, she does so obediently and the group encounters a Wisp. She gets hit several times by its magic, and once again proves too cowardly and soft hearted to finish it off so the other goblins have to kill the creature again. They make fun of her weakness even more and Rattleskull becomes disgusted enough with her that from this moment he pretty much ignores her. At some point her shield breaks, leaving her with only a Sharp Stone. The stone is, however, pretty good quality as the nature of shale made it break into a very keen edge. Deciding to run from the Goblins after seeing only brutality and ridicule from them, she finds a little nook off in some unexplored part of the cave and hides in this crack in the wall. Upon venturing out from it to get some food and water near the pool, she meets a Pixie. Their play date doesn't go well and she eventually runs back to her shelter. She doesn't want to fight, but is eventually forced to do so. She just wants the creature to go away, but doesn't know that Pixies are actually very physically fragile. When she hurls a stone at it, she almost by dumb luck hits it right in the head--and crushes its skull. This first and only kill combined with her other experiences thus far grants her the first Level Up. Assuming she may not spend it at first as she might not understand what it is, she sneaks back to the Goblin camp to steal some rudimentary tools and then uses these to make her shelter a little larger on the inside. All of this hard work leaves her tired and she can sleep soundly and safely through the night. So she's now Level 2. Her Maximum HP increases, and she has 5 Skill Points to spend. Skill points work like decimal points, a skill starts at 0.1 once it's unlocked and when it passes 1.0 it becomes "active," and further skill points will go towards progressing it to the next rank. Her current unlocked skills and their progress are like this: Stronger (0.8) Charisma (0.2) Charm (0.1) Pierce Resistance (0.1) Faster (0.5) Muffle (0.6) Alert (0.3) Crafting (0.7) Smash (0.4) Shield Slam (0.4) Defender (0.3) Slash (0.1) Throw Item (0.2) Magic Resistance (0.3) Blunt Resistance (0.2) Fortify (0.1) Soil Manipulation (0.1) And by stealing from the goblins she got a Wooden Pickaxe and a Hard Stone. By using her Sharp Stone, the remainder of her shield, she is able to undo the binding on the Wooden Pickaxe to split it into a Gnarled Stick and a Curved Stick. She can use the Gnarled Stick as a club on its own, and by reusing the bindings she cut she can tie the Hard Stone to the Curved Stick to make another club that does more damage, but isn't as durable. Her Sharp Stone is getting duller now, and of course she doesn't have her shield anymore. Skill Gain: Stronger I! You have grown stronger through tough training! Tear muscles down, and rebuild them anew! Your physical power stats have increased! By gaining at least one rank of Faster, Harder, and Better, Skill Synergy will occurr and you will gain one rank of Physical Conditioning. Skill Gain: Crafting I! You may craft very simple items from simple materials. Your knowledge and understanding of mechanics, workmanship, and other such things enable you to craft better items. The process of creating many items is still an unknown to you, but if you ever succeed in such a creation its Sub-Stat Enhancements will be higher than normal. That's what she would see in the System message after distributing her points. Stronger is a Passive ability, she doesn't have to activate it or spend any MP on it. Her base strength is just better now. Crafting has to be activated but there's nothing special she has to do--once she starts crafting an item it just takes effect. So the next morning she wakes up, she sharpens her Stone and makes her two clubs. Sharp Stone will do the most damage but has the shortest range and has lower durability. The Gnarled Stick does the lowest damage but has the highest durability and decent range. The Curved Stick+Stone club has the longest range, does more damage than the Gnarled Stick, and is more durable than the Sharp Stone but less durable than the other stick. She gets a System Notice that she is Hungry and Thirsty, and of course she can feel both of these things as well. However she's no longer with the goblins, and to get to the pool and find more healing herbs to eat she'll have to leave her shelter. --- She's able to sneak around the goblin camp, since on the second day many of them end up working to clear the cave's entrance of a cave-in and Crispy only has a few guards around. The other players work to ambush him at some point on this day, so she's got a few opportunities to get in there and grab a few pieces of wood. She gets this system note while crafting: You used Crafting I! Without the Material Analysis skill, you can't be sure of the qualities of your items and materials. Firewood + Firewood + Old Root + Short Stick Your crafting methods won't reduce the chance of item degradation. You created an item! Obtained Item: Firewood Shield! An X shaped shield, formed by simply lashing split firewood together in a cross and tying on a handle. It is very vulnerable to fire and quite heavy. On her way to the pool to fish, she's attacked by a Wisp. Her shield takes some damage during the fight with it, but she kills it with her club since Wisps can't take physical damage very well much like Pixies. When she tries to fish in the pool, she's unable to catch anything as she isn't skilled enough yet to actually hit one with this method and her swinging and splashing scares the rest of the fish away. She finds the same deposit of shale that she was able to make a shield from before, and with her clubs she's able to break off another layer. After returning to her home she's able to break it into the sharp bits, but she only has one more log that she stole from Crispy to work with. She can only split this log into 4 "stick sized" pieces and they don't seem all that sturdy. She barely has enough vines or roots left in her hole--unless she wants to try digging further into the wall and ceiling--to do her lashing. She gets this system note while crafting: You used Crafting I! Without the Material Analysis skill, you can't be sure of the qualities of your items and materials. Short Stick (x4) + Old Root (x4) + Sharp Stone Shard (x4) Your crafting methods won't reduce the chance of item degradation. One of your items has a low durability, it is more likely to degrade during crafting. An item has broken! You created items! Obtain Items: Short Stone Spear (x3) A simple tool crated by lashing a sharp stone to a stick. Because it's shorter and lighter, it can be more easily thrown, but won't stand up well to the rigors of battle. She doesn't have enough wood left to attempt your idea to recreate her shield. And by this point the Goblins have left the cave completely to prepare for their "war" on the rest of the cave. The other player monsters are doing their own preparations, and for the moment the rest of the cave is pretty much only being affected by NPC monsters. If she calls it a day after this much, during the night she'll find it hard to sleep because of all the sounds of battle--goblins screaming and dying, magic spells being thrown about, at one point a fiery explosion, and the distant glare of burning torches. --- On her way to the battle she gets this notice: Skill Gain: Muffle I! This skill grants you the ability to be just a little bit better at being stealthy, with a focus on reducing the sound of your movements. But what would she do if, on her way back after venturing from her little hole, 3 Fanged Lizards appeared? They've been driven from their nests by the invading Goblins who are killing everything in their paths, so they're highly aggressive and running at her, hissing as they prepare their poison spit.
