[b][color=lime]Personality:[/color][/b] To call Thomas a bully would be an understatement. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and he is damn well aware of it. He is ignorant of the struggles others have endured, and actively mocks those of a "lower status." The world is Thomas' oyster in his mind, and he is quick to dismiss or destroy anything that stands between him and his goals. That is not to say he gets in trouble often, as Thomas knows his way around the rules and systems of power. His quick wit and silver tongue typically allow him to avoid any punishments, and has managed to keep a spotless record in the process. He isn't particularly dedicated to anyone other than himself, always placing his own interests in front of those of his "friends." That is not to say that Thomas does not respect the talents of others, nor that he is incapable of enjoyment without harming others. Thomas has an infatuation with spellcasting and the nature of magic that has not waned as he has grown, and he enjoys more practical fields of study. He enjoys his role as a beater for Slytherin's quidditch team not because it is an outlet for his pent-up rage, but because he enjoys the athleticism of the event. And sure, if he gets the opportunity to rough up a Hufflepuff in the process, that brightens his day just a little more.

Most of these actions act to hide Thomas' true nature: he wants to be the hero his brother was. Sure, he is a little overconfident in his own abilities, but he always has a voice in the back of his head telling him he can be better. He dedicates himself tirelessly to perfecting his skills so that he can attain a role in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, the job that his brother hoped for his entire life. His family's past also isolates Thomas to the point he has no distinct friends, and he hasn't tried to reach out and make new ones.

Thomas Damian Korevny was the last born child of Alexei and Lilian Korevny. He had three older siblings: his eldest brother Nikolai, his older sister Anna, and his middle brother Rowan. Nikolai and Anna were twins, but could not have ended up more different in their personalities. Rowan was born much later than the twins, and Tom was born years after Rowan. The running joke in the family was that Rowan and Tom were accidents, but that joke became more of an insult over the years.

Alexei was a pureblood, as was Lilian. While the two were madly in love when they first got married, the love spoiled over the years. Lilian was a staunch believer in a healthy balance between the muggle and magical worlds, but Alexei always believed that wizards were superior. When Voldemort came along, Alexei joined the cause as a Death Eater. Nikolai and Anna were at Hogwarts at the time as seventh years, and both joined their father as death eaters (albeit, for different reasons) once they graduated. When the tides settled with the disappearance of his master, Alexei and the others returned to their normal lives for a time. When the Dark Lord made his open return, Alexei and his two eldest children joined the war effort again.

Rowan had the care and love for others that his mother Lilian demonstrated. Lilian studied and served as a doctor, and would use her skills to help those affected by the war effort. She hated Alexei for the pain he inflicted onto others, and Rowan shared this hatred. Rowan was a 5th year when the Battle of Hogwarts commenced, and he joined in the fight as well. In the chaos of the conflict, Rowan actually managed to find his father. Alexei showed no hesitation in dueling his son, and held nothing back. Rowan was a casualty, and Alexei was subdued and arrested following the battle when Voldemort fell. Nikolai and Anna disappeared and haven't been seen since. All that is left of the direct Korevny family is Lilian and her youngest child, Thomas.

Thomas was young when his brother was killed, but it has stuck with him to this day. He has spent the years since his brother's death practically alone, with nothing to do but train and prepare himself for his magical schooling. His siblings were gone, and the Korevny family was shunned by the remaining pureblood families either for the actions of Alexei or the defiance of Rowan. Lilian has done the best she could for Thomas, but herself suffers from the same bouts of loneliness and isolation that would plague her son later in his life. When Thomas was accepted into Hogwarts, his mother gifted him with two possessions of Rowans: his wand and his journal. Thomas was surprised to learn that the wand responded well to him. The journal was equally surprising, as it turned out to initially be Nikolai's journal. The beginning mostly read as an instruction manual to various jinxes, hexes, and curses that Nikolai had studied in depth to prepare for the coming war. Rowan's section granted more insight into Rowan's ultimate decision to stand up for Hogwarts in defiance of the family. Tom still keeps the journal tucked away under his bed at school to read it on sleepless nights.

Thomas swore to himself that he would wear his family's name with pride when he attended Hogwarts. He touted his pureblood status like a badge of honor, and made sure to excel in all of his classes. This trend has gone on for years now. He joined both the Dueling Club (where he is a little above average in skill) and served as one of the beaters for Slytherin (a role practically made for him) for the past two years. His free time is typically spent split between these extracurricular activities, studying alone, working out, and serving as the male Prefect for Slytherin this year (a move that has worried some faculty and students, given Thomas' connection to his family).

He's a better student and a better duelist, and this triggers a few of Tom's very clear insecurities. The rivalry isn't malicious, but it certainly isn't healthy on Tom's side of things. He hasn't been particular cruel to Jax given his background and status, but finds his arrogance frustrating even if deserved.

[color=007236]Elspeth Macbain[/color] - Someone Tom respects probably more than anyone else he knows. She is the Slytherin prodigy, and Tom is well aware of that. Unfortunately, doesn't know her all that well. He may be more invested in trying to get her to like him for the sake of her father than he is actually making friends with her.

Elliot Forrester - Just another target in Quidditch.

[color=#addfad]Piper Ward[/color] - A rather interesting person in Tom's eyes, and the closest thing he has to a friend. They have a friendly rivalry when it comes to dueling and Quidditch, and somehow this doesn't bother Tom in the slightest. Her status as a pureblood appeases his more elitist attitudes, and her positive attitude tends to dampen his malicious nature when she's around. He doesn't go out of his way to interact with her beyond Dueling Club and Quidditch practice, but part of him wishes he could swallow his pride and try to interact with her more.
