This was Annabeth's moment. For too long had she been denied by the fighter's guild, by the mercenaries, and even by the local guards to join the fight. She was an orphan, they would say, and a woman to boot. The kinder ones would use honor as an excuse but most were more blunt and simply thought her as weak. Didn't matter that she had trained herself in combat and even had her own armor; they simply can't let a woman join them in battle. But now they don't have that choice. With the enemy at their gates they can't afford to let something like gender prevent her from fighting. Taking her warhammer in hand Anna went to find the lady and captain. They were newcomers to the city, and likely didn't know Annabeth. She had known about them for sometime however, and hoped to use this opportunity to get into their good favor and take her on as a knight, or even just a fellow mercenary. She was willing to prove her worth however she could. When she found them, she called out. "Hello there! Lady Maren and Captain Crassius, correct? I am Annabeth Elliot, a knight errant. It looks like the tide of battle has shifted to our favor! We should sally out and route these brigands while they're still a chance."
