As far as Yasu was concerned, the assembly was a complete mess. It started normally enough, but all the teachers seemed like a bunch of wackos that had been haphazardly slapped together in a barely coherent 'team'. The first one even called out turbine dipshit in the middle of his speech. Not that Yasu cared about plane boy, but it seemed like the most unprofessional thing to do. She had to wonder she wouldn't eventually be the one being called out in assemblies. Some of the others weren't half as controversial, but that was what made them all seem so weird. Usually schools had a solid theme. Nosaka High had a snobbish theme. She didn't like it at all, but it gave you a clear picture of who you were dealing with. None of these people seemed alike. Some seemed uptight, others seemed laid back, and others seemed almost insane. She wondered how the hell staff meetings went with such a weird and clashing group of personalities. The worst one of all had to be the principal. She was late to her own damn assembly. Not only that, but apparently she was the ex-hero Oracle Thought. Yasu had never been big on professional heroes, so she didn't know any of the other supposedly big names, but she had heard about this one once from her parents. Her mother had been a big fan of hers back in the day, and had regaled her with stories of the hero that could see everything coming. Apparently she couldn't even foresee herself being late. The biggest shocker was she told them something they apparently weren't supposed to know. Yasu didn't much care for rules, but she did think that principles were supposed to. This was like the Prime Minister deciding to tell people confidential information over the t.v. for kicks. Even worse, the information was that they were part of some kind of competition with "the best in all of Japan". They were putting this rag tag group of misfits and morons up against Japan's finest. Yasu started to wonder if she was on one of those sadistic gameshows. 'Come watch the worst class in the country get smashed by the best, this sunday at 7PM!' At least this was all mercifully cut short by them getting ushered out to the gym so they could get down to business. Their setup in the gym looked rather impressive, if nothing else. It was a damn sight more professional than some of their staff for sure. Rather than setting out a clear turn order, they simply left it up to the students to randomly volunteer to show off their quirks. It sounded like a recipe for chaos to Yasu. Lo and behold, Kiko was the first to put herself out there. A red flag was raised for Yasu when she asked her to cheer her on. "Sure..." She muttered as the flighty girl departed for center stage. There was no way in hell she was actually cheering for anybody right now. At first, Yasu thought she had a pretty impressive quirk. It was flashy, if chaotic. It had a certain intimidation factor. That was until Yasu noticed she had only made her mark three times. She looked so proud of herself for a girl that only hit thrice out of however many she had fired. 'She's retarded, isn't she? She's retarded and she's the person I'm most likely to be stuck with' Yasu ruminated on her misfortune. She tried her best not to show what she was thinking on her face, and avoided eye contact with Kiko as her performance ended. The next two to go were more normal to say the least. As 'normal' as a brilliant flash of ice and making things spin could be. They didn't seem far too proud of their displays like a certain other person Yasu could mention. Either way, their displays were over, and now their was a lull in volunteers. With the others either preparing themselves or waiting patiently, Yasu realised she would have to make her own show sooner or later. Taking a deep breath, she made her way out onto the court herself. "Yeah, hi, I'm Hayakawa Yasu." She addressed the audience at large nonchalantly. "Can I get one dummy here too?" She called out to the teacher. "They called my quirk 'Live Wire'." 'They' in this case referred to the people back at the orphanage. She hadn't come up with the name herself. She doubted the crowd wanted to hear her life story, so she was going to leave it at that. She slapped her hands together and then brought them apart. Between her hands now sat a crackling thread of electrical energy. "I'll give you a hint. It's because it's based on electricity. I bet you'd never have guessed, huh?" Wasting little time, she took her thread and shunted it into the dummy she had been provided with. It reacted with a shudder to the obvious electric shock. "That's the obvious way of using my quirk. I know, so impressive, so stunning..." The sarcasm was positively dripping from her words. "Mind lowering a turret so I can grab it?" She called out again. When she got what she wanted, she then anchored her thread between the ground and the turret. "I need it to move to the wire." Once the dummy was in motion, she cleared her throat and began a short spiel. "This here is Takeshi the villain." She gestured to the dummy. "He's out for a little stroll, when he rounds the corner, and suddenly..." As she paused, the dummy passed through the wire and received the appropriate shock. "Oh no. Takeshi blundered into a carefully placed electrical trap. What an unfortunate disaster it would be if a hero pounced on him now and brought him to justice." "Anyway, that's it for my little show. I'll just...sit down now." She then took her seat like anyone else. Whether someone got a chuckle out of her, or if they all thought she was obnoxious, it didn't matter much to her.
Yasu passes judgement on the staff, thinks Kiko is dumb, and shows off her quirk in a deadpan, comical fashion.
[@Etranger] [@ShwiggityShwah]
