Visibly disheveled and still wearing their respective pajamas, the two stayed perfectly still, eyes and ears rotating around the living space as their noses cautiously sniffed the open air. Well acquainted with the source of their current predicament, the two Inuzuka were perfectly aware of the possibility of an air-based chemical agent being used against them and were prepared to move at the slightest inclination of anything out of place. After a minute of tense waiting, Kimura’s grip finally slackened, a heavy exhale escaping from her mouth as she rises from the crouch she had rolled into instinctively. Her ninken, however, stayed very much alert, even as his partner voices her relief. “Whew, that was really close, wasn’t it Gureeeeeeeeeeh!” The moment she had risen to half of her height, a series of mechanisms were set off all at once, icy blue filling the edges of her vision as metal piece after metal piece clanked off one after the other. After a few dizzying moments where the young girl couldn’t tell her ups from her downs, Kimura found herself suspended ten feet off the floor, with the floor beneath her head and her legs bound above her, various pointy metal implements poised to perforate her many vital organs as her ninken growled out in chocolate brown distress, a paw pressed against his forehead. “Huh? But I thought we checked everything already! Did we agree that we couldn’t hear nor smell any metal, Gure?” “You should have understood by now that I’ve already prepared a counter for such a thing,” the warm yet gruff sulfur yellow voice drew both of their attention as the green clack of wood reaches their ears, the visage of Inuzuka Obu appearing from the shadows as he rests his hands upon his cane, his single leg relieving the weight of his body onto the wooden implement as he gazes up at his unfortunately tied up daughter. “Now, again. You aren’t going to your graduation until your danger instincts have woken up.” She wasn’t allowed to sit down and eat breakfast until she finally made her way through the onslaught without getting caught or hurt once, taking up enough time that she thought she might’ve missed the ceremony. Not only would the young Inuzuka have missed her chance of seeing all of her classmates together for one last time before splitting off into their respective teams, but she also wouldn’t have had the chance to update her personal info books on them. The last test revealed some information that she’d been dying to jot down and speculate about, but her father hadn’t given her a chance to do so until she’d been properly woken up. When Kimura looked out the cracks of a boarded-up window to check the time, however, she was surprised to see the sun still fairly low in the distance. How early had her father woken her up today? Sure, he ambushed her even at ungodly hours whenever he felt that she was slacking in her vigilance, but to do so on the day of her graduation… even her father should understand the importance of being there on time, right? Scarfing down her rice bowl as quickly as she could, after thoroughly checking that it wasn’t poisoned, of course, Kimura’s ears twitched as the sound of a pebble clacking against the roof of their house reached her ears, drawing her father and ninken’s attention as well. "KIMURA! WANNA WALK TO SCHOOL TOGETHER? I BROUGHT AN UMBRELLA." The familiar pineapple yellow voice of her good friend Asami caused the would-be-kunoichi to perk up and quickly looked towards her father with pleading eyes. The one-legged father scratches at his chin, an unassuming hum rumbling in the back of his throat even as Guremaru rolled his eyes, rising from his doggy bowl to climb into Kimura’s hair, already knowing what answer the man would give. “When you return home, I want you to debrief yourself on any change in her usual attitude and social patterns, understood?” “Yes Papa! ASAMI-CHAN, I’M ON MY WAY OUT!” Kimura accepts joyfully, calling back to her friend as she ran up to her father to plant a kiss on his cheek before scooping up her ninja tools, strapping various holsters to her legs and forearms and hiding them beneath the large sleeves of an orange kimono with blue dogs prancing across the fabric. The daughter waved goodbye as Gure barked out a promise towards her partner’s single parent, gaining an understanding smile in response before the duo run out to where Asami awaits. “Sorry, Asami-chan! Papa wanted to play a bunch of games before I left,” Kimura attempted to explain, somewhat out of breath as she came to a stop alongside her friend. The grey puppy laying on her head barked out in greeting to the Sarutobi, but snuggled into his partner’s hair and quickly fell asleep as the trio began to make their way to the Academy. “Aren’t you exicted, Asami-chan? Today, we finally get to become real kunoichi! Unless the graduation ceremony is actually a foreign nation’s attempt to secretly trick and kidnap a bunch of children from Konoha… But I really hope it isn’t that!” [/indent]
