She still has soft, wrinkle-free, facial features and she's in amazing shape. The woman has the body of an Olympic athlete through vigorous training. She rolls up her sleeve you can see thick muscle, and she knows better than to skip leg day; her thighs are stated to be so thick that they can crush a watermelon. Though her build is still relatively thin, from a distance you'd think that the gal is thin as a rail. Of course, since this is set in the summer, she's going to be dressing lightly so her body's going to be on full display. What makes her somewhat intimidating is the fact that she's so tall, for Japanese standards. She's at the average American male height, and that's because of genetics and the fact that she drunk lots of milk growing up. She doesn't have much butt, but at least Makoto is proud of her 40D's that are entirely homegrown and natural, because of her habit of wearing baggy clothes they don't stick out too much. Now, I'm saving the best for last... Makoto is a pure-blooded Japanese-woman and that's obvious in her whitish skin with golden overtones and facial features. Oddly enough, she barely has an accent at all, almost as if she grew up in America all of her life.
▼ | ATTIRE : |
Makoto is a spy, a REAPER spy in particular. Her attire changes from situation to situation; you can find her wearing a dress one day, disguised as a nurse another, and even used a construction worker disguise. Makoto calls herself the master of disguise, after all. However, whatever she wears, she has a Glock 43 consealed on her being somewhere, and at all times to reach for in case the going gets tough. Off the clock she wears whatever, she doesn't really put a lot of thought into her outfit unless she's going somewhere. She likes to wear jeans or cargo pants of some kind, but she also likes to wear skirts sometimes. Her shirts range from t-shirts, to dress shirts, and sometimes she wears what she calls "lesbian flannel" with a wide variety of different jewelry. Let me get into her REAPER armor; it's a jet black armor made out of chainmail and kevlar that covers her from head to toe. She decided to personalize it a bit; she painted an Oni with a devilish grin on the helmet and even attached little horns on top. In addition, her armor has a huge black wig attached with thick, dirty, matted hair that goes down to her back. All for aesthetic purposes.

⫸ P S Y C H O L O G Y ⫷
"You know that taking your anger out on me won't solve anything, so just relax"
▼ | PERSONALITY TRAITS : | | Playful | Light-Hearted | Bored Easily | Not all that loyal to the REAPER cause | Seen it all | Hides Secrets | Flirty | Ruthless | Nihilistic | Imaginative/Appreciates Creativity | Tries to lighten the mood | Good with Children | ▼ | SKILLS : |

REAPER Training ⫻ Contrary to popular belief, REAPERS are given training on par with modern-day soldiers. From hand to hand, firearms, to fighting Metahumans, and even dirty stuff like sneaking and planting bombs and shit, are all skills Makoto has. Since she's such an experienced REAPER, all of this is almost second nature to her. Spy ⫻ Makoto has experience working as a spy for REAPER for ages now, which means it's pretty easy for her to put on acts, and make them convincing at that. In order to get information, new allies, or get into new organizations, she knows just how to come up with the perfect name on the fly! Cunning/Clever ⫻ You don't work for a major terrorist organization for almost a decade and live by being stupid, Makoto is definitely a smart cookie. She knows how to come up with creative solutions to simple problems and is seemingly able to always be able to think herself out of a corner. Painter ⫻ Makoto is naturally a very creative person, and this is a skill that she brought from her younger years, but she definitely knows how to draw up a mean painting. In her spare time, she draws paintings that she decorates her apartment with.

▼ | BACK STORY : |
Makoto's backstory is shrouded in mystery and doubt, a few people have noticed a few contradictions after examining it. However, Makoto tells it like this; she was born in Tokyo Japan as the child of a pair of loving parents, she had a brother whos name was Daisuke. Her father was the breadwinner and worked as a salaryman in a high-scale corporation. He brought back money so the Koda family so they could afford all sorts of luxuries, such as sending both of the Koda children to private schooling. Both of them were expected to succeed at life and driven to learn as much as possible so they may be top class members of Japanese society. Makoto was trying her best but couldn't help but try to slack off playing videogames or just going out and hanging out with friends. She was always a very social girl that would try to connect with the people around her - a sharp contrast to her brother who was very antisocial and was bullied for his abnormalities. Makoto tried to help her brother where ever she could, but she found herself getting dragged into their venomous bullying whenever she tried to help him. So she was torn between helping her brother and having a rich social life and in the end, she could only help Daisuke. Family first, that was what papa Koda told her, so she had to smile while she bore the harassment. However, one day Daisuke was acting weird and covered in injuries like he was hiding something; so Makoto wondered if he had found a weapon and was planning on killing one of his bullies. The reality was much worse, at least for Makoto. One day, she confronted Daisuke and found out that he had a weird glowing crystal, a white one in fact. Makoto immediately took the crystal from him, knowing exactly what it was; a delta crystal. The rarest one, in fact, and Makoto wondered where in the hell he got it from. After probing Daisuke; she found out that he fought a delinquent for it and was hoping that it would give him the power to protect the two of them. Makoto found it lovely that he wanted to protect them, but this was too much. Makoto ultimately decided to bury the crystal in the yard, realizing the crystal was far too much trouble than it was worth. However, when Makoto touched it, she noticed that she was glowing white, she didn't pay it any mind. Until a few days later when Makoto was being attacked by the bullies, beaten and humiliated... she disappeared. Poof. Into a cloud of black smoke, and the bullies were confused and there was a huge search for Makoto. Until she reappeared in the same spot a few hours later horribly traumatized. She told everyone that she ran away but kept the details sparse, but she spent those few hours in a shadowy reflection of the real world. It was cold, empty, and horrific, not a good place for a young girl. After the smoke cleared, Makoto realized that she was a Metahuman, a horrific thing that wasn't thought too well of in Japan. Many Metahuman children in Japan are forced to hide their powers, or worse, are practically exiled from the family. Thus, Makoto kept her power a secret, and since she was already an honor student, she put time aside to practice with her power. Which she named "The Dark". It was a cold, lonely, dark place, so she felt the name was appropriate for it. And with The Dark; Makoto learned that she could teleport and even separate her soul from her body for a period of time to look around. The fun she had with her power - especially getting around in hectic Japan! Though, things changed for the worse real fast. The Koda patriarch lost his job after his company launched a faulty product that leads to a few lawsuits, and they needed someone to blame; so they picked him. Made him pack up his things, and security escorted him out the front door. It was the saddest day he ever had since he had nothing but loyalty to that company ever since he got out of university and no other corporation would hire someone with a reputation like his. So the Koda family hit hard times that lead to all of them scrambling to keep a roof over their heads. Makoto got a part-time job and hope that it would help stop the sinking boat, and Daisuke... well, he finally found his place: The Yakuza. Makoto didn't know how exactly Daisuke fell in line with them, but she knew why; he was a weirdo outcast and they are a group for them. He came home one day with all sorts of intricate tattoos and kept staying out late at night; ignoring his studies. He brought back money and Makoto, at this point, didn't have the words or energy to argue with him about it, she just let it go for now. She just used her part-time job as a waitress to do the best she could for her family to stop them from burning out completely. One night, though, things got even worse. Daisuke woke her up and asked her where the crystal was; because the Yakuza was willing to buy it for huge amounts of yen. In retrospect, the deal was too good to be true, but Makoto was desperate and was willing to do anything to get money. So, she dug up the crystal and the two went along to the seedy parts of Tokyo to make the deal. Everything looked like it was going to go well, and the briefcase full of Yen was all theirs... then REAPER showed up. It was either such a huge deal that Abel himself had to show up, or the terrorist had nothing better to do - Makoto figured that Abel wanted to make a scene in Japan. That was, again, irrelevant, because the Yakuza were eliminated quite easily and Makoto got herself and Daisuke out of there - but he had the genius idea to try to get the yen, and would not leave without it. Makoto figured that she was the best to get it and after the bullets stopped; she decided to go for it. She stepped towards it, but Abel managed to catch her off guard and held her up one handed. She found it hard to escape his grasp, and Daisuke tried to free her, only to get restrained by REAPERs. Makoto begged for her life, and said anything in an attempt to keep her alive. Abel merely stared at her as she begged... before tossing her across the room and kicking her the briefcase full of yen. He told her to make good use of that money and stepped into a portal to escape. Makoto, briefly, thanked whatever deity was in the sky before the two of them returned to the Koda household. The money kept them safe and comfortable for a long time and neither parent dared to ask, as they were able to move to a lower income house and stay happy. However, the money ran out rather quickly and the members of that clan of the Yakuza came after the Kodas, and the ray of hope ran out rather fast. Then she came; a woman that would change everything for the Koda family: Rin Tajima. A woman who was with REAPER that was ordered to gather information on the Koda after the deal with the Yakuza gone wrong. She approached Makoto knowing their struggles and she gave them an easy way out; join REAPER and she could support the Koda family and fight off the Yakuza. She didn't know what to do, but at this point, her life was falling apart so she finally chooses to go through with it and join them. Rin told her she wouldn't be disappointed. Despite what REAPER initially appeared; they were a lot more... organized than she thought. They gave all sorts of weapon training and taught her how to put her power to good use. However, apart of her first trial was to get over her fears of killing; there was a politician they kidnapped bound and gagged in front of her, and they gave her a gun. She was hesitant, but she went through with it because they would kill her otherwise; she blew the guy's head off and it was horrifying. Then they gave her another man to kill, and another... this time; he wasn't bound and gagged. He was enjoying a vacation with his family in Japan and Makoto was ordered to kill him as her first mission - and she succeeded when she seduced him and killed him. That was when she adopted the codename Onryo, and it wasn't long until she donned the REAPER armor. This was the start of Makoto's missions, and throughout the years she traveled the world doing missions for REAPER. She became one of their most trusted agents, as she became a master spy. Getting information, infiltrations, assassinations, and even insertion missions - after a certain point, she received news that her father killed himself and her mother died soon after. Her brother was nowhere to be seen, and Makoto had no intention of finding him; she didn't have the strength to face her brother. Makoto was partnered with another REAPER who went by the name Veronica Davis; though Makoto was more of her sidekick she was fine with that. Their skills aligned perfectly and their success rate was high... even though Veronica found Makoto very annoying and the older woman enjoyed posturing her younger partner. Makoto was assigned to Black Fall, and that was where she found someone else who could utilize the Dark. A Japanese girl named Aiko Yamamoto, who she found in the Dark and was honestly confused by the experience, and so much that she was thrown off guard. Interested, Makoto found the girl off-duty and the two talked and formed a bond; some sort of mentorship relationship. Aiko's power allowed her to summon and spawn the dark as if it was some sort of solid material and trap objects inside of it to release it. Which was a much different usage than what Makoto had for it, and wondered if she could do the same. However, the girl was involved in the Allegiance branch in Black Fall, and she was responsible for something big that happened there that involved two other Japanese girls that she was friends with. It wasn't pretty, and that left a lot of hatred and grudges that Makoto herself was there to witness. The older REAPER had to move on; she couldn't get another girl involved in her dirty business. Due to the fact that not one, not two, not three, but five REAPER targets were tracked to Charity Beach, Makoto was transferred to that branch of REAPER. She was excited about the sunny beaches and beautiful boys and girls... though she could tell some serious shit was gonna go down.

⫸ P O W E R I N F O R M A T I O N ⫷
"Don't get spooked!"
▼ | POWER CLASSIFICATION : |
Type-White
▼ | POWER DESCRIPTION : | The Dark.
So to give insight to her secret past, Makoto has come across a very rare type-white crystal in the past and instead of becoming a master of all time and space, she has been connected to another universe she calls "The Dark". The dark is a shadowy mirror of our world full of moving, smokey, darkness, and has no lifeforms - or no lifeform that Makoto can comprehend. All objects take the form of this smokey darkness and are constantly "moving", and while moving Makoto can shift these objects out of the way. This world seems to be vaguely connected to our world, as Makoto has learned it's full of different shortcuts. Shortcuts that Makoto can use by briefly traveling to this world - it's something creepy about this place and it's so cold and uncomfortable when she moves, like walking through frozen water. She can travel to this world at will, disappearing into a cloud of dark smoke and remain in this universe long as she pleases - when she wants to come back she'll reappear right where she was. However, she has learned a few techniques utilizing the dark.
Dark-Step.
Makoto's primary ability, and by focusing on a location she can instantaneously travel there. She has trained with her power to the point where it requires little to no concentration to travel. And I don't use the word teleportation because it's not quite that. It's more... launching herself through both universes and ending up at one place in her current one. She can't go through solid objects, and if she tries to dark-step and there's a solid object in her path - regardless of what it is - she will immediately come to a stop. When she Steps through the dark, she'll disappear into a puff of black smoke and reappears in another puff - with trails of dark seemingly marking where she goes. Makoto can step several times in a row, but the action is very exhausting and will require a break - and she gets the same result from longer steps. When she steps, all objects and momentum are preserved so if someone's holding onto her before she steps they'll still be holding onto her.

Spirit-Form.
Makoto's secondary, and far lesser seen, ability allows her to detach her mind (or soul) and it takes the form of a horrific black mass that vaguely has her body shape. It flows when it moves, leaving behind a trail, as the form has the ability to fly in all directions. The body has no coherent or solid physical form, anything that touches her simply goes through her, she can phase through any solid object, and she finds it difficult to affect the physical world. She's capable of affecting the physical world to a small extent like touching somebody, moving a small object, opening a door, etc. Where ever she goes, she's accompanied by a strange whisper.

Ghost-Step.
A combination of the two abilities, Makoto can use her spirit form to get into a place and then use her Dark-Step ability to send her body to the location. She finds this very exhausting and is unable to do this multiple times in a row - usually saving it for the last ditch escape.

▼ | LIMITS : |
Using all of Makoto's abilities are very tiring, especially Ghost-Step. She can't use them all willy nilly without tiring herself out and has to conserve herself in order to properly use it. When she simply transports herself to the Dark, she'll always return to the same place that she was when she traveled there. Which makes it a less than effective dodge, because somebody may just anticipate her coming back. And she has to come back. She can teleport around seven meters easily without it being tiring, and about three times in a row before she has to take a break, and can teleport twenty meters in one sitting. It can also be stopped if any solid object gets in the way at all. Makoto's Spirit-Form isn't super tiring, but it has a range of around thirteen meters and cannot travel past that dome. Finally, the Ghost-Step is her most tiring technique; the further away she travels, the worst it'll be.
▼ | WEAKNESSES : |
There is... something in the Void. A monster, a demon she thinks it is, and whatever it is, it's after her. When ever she uses her power it is drawn to her, and if it catches it... it'll kill her. She survived a few close encounters with the thing, but coming out alive has made Makoto terrified of the thing. If she sees it; she'll refuse to go back. In addition, staying in the Dark too long or overusing her abilities too much may result in her becoming trapped in the Dark with no way out. With the thing, and the Dark has no food or water. It's usually a few hours, but one time she's been trapped in the Dark for a day straight. With an eldritch horror that wants to kill her. The Dark is a very cold and unforgiving place and excessive usage of her ability will cause insomnia, depression, and won't really want to do anything for a while. Each of her abilities has their own weakness. Darkstepping leaves her disoriented and sometimes dizzy and nauseous due to the way it works. Her Spirit-Form has one fatal weakness; it leaves her body behind completely helpless and if somebody finds her she's good as dead. Ghost-Stepping leaves her incredibly disoriented and dizzy, so bad that she won't be able to fight or do anything for awhile.

⫸ O T H E R ⫷
"I won't lose myself to the Dark, not again."
Is Makoto Koda even her name? Who knows. Usually Makoto is the more stealthy type and her trusty glock 43 is sufficent for her. But when her mission involves more... insertion; she keeps two weapons on her. Her trusty MP-443 Grach which has been painted black and she keeps on her side, which has saved her several, several, times and has killed many people. She also has a Kalashnikov SVK Sniper Rifle with a modified clip, which she uses because sniper rifles are too big for her. The Dark is also an alternate mirror-world of sorts that is the space between this universe and the neighboring ones. A few different Metahumans have the ability to draw strength from the dark and ultilize it.
