Appearance: Brownish hair, usually braided to keep it out of the way. They have a red bandanna from their Dad, it is always in a pocket or around their neck. They are fairly small, but sturdy build. Typically dresses in rodeo casual, Jeans and a white tshirt with either a flannel or a denim jacket. Always wears boots. Belt buckles are a thing. Carries work gloves, but cuts the fingertips out of them

Biography: Born in a tiny ass town on the border of Texas and Oklahoma, Sam has seen their fair share of hard work and hardships. Used to farmwork, fair enough at learning, not so good at fitting in. Consistently bullied for being "too much of a tomboy", Sam grabbed hold of any chance they could to get the heck outta dodge, so to speak. This came in the form of the rodeo circuts. Sam hired on originally as an assistant to the veterinarian, and when the crew traveled, so did they. Sam is a quick study, and used their time on the road to learn about the ins and outs of a number of animals, both stock and wild. A few years into the circuit, though, Sam was unable to save the bronco of the rodeo boss who decided that the only way to recoup from the loss was for Sam to use their travels to work in his side business: human trafficking. Sam ran like hell from this idea, and in their running, discovered the innate ability to "shift" into animal forms. Knowing little about their powers, but sure of the need to put some distance in between them and their former boss, Sam wanders her way across the country to a spot where they hear people like them gather.....

Personality: Sam is fairly quiet but the epitome of Southern Hospitality. Always quick with a "yes Ma'am" or a "no Sir". Sam tends to enjoy being around animals more than the people, but is decent at smalltalk and will give the shirt off their back to help out someone in need. Good at deflecting, never wants to spend too much time on theirself

Skillset: Animal Handling, Farm work, Chorin', cookin', basic survival skills. Decent in a fight but doesn't like to

Powers: animal shapeshifting, partial animal shapeshifting. Sam can't shift into anything she doesn't have a good knowledge of, so unless they spends time learning the ins and outs of a critter it might not go well. Can only shift within their own mass, to a point. so no whales or anythin huge. Calorie consumption is also a major factor. If Sam wants to shift into a larger animal than they are capable of normally, or one that is specialized like a bird, they would have to consume a good amount of food before and after. As such, Sam is always snackin.

Tools and Equipment:  a rucksack, a sleeping bag, a set of Various tools of the trade for a Large animal Veterinarian, Several sets of clothes, a Stetson, a foldable pocketknife, a length of rope (lasso), a mess kit, and space in the rucksack for snacks
