Kasumi is definitely a loner by nature, preferring to spend her time reading books and delving into the world of make-believe when not studying or focusing on her school work. She's not the one to initiate conversation, she's not overtly confident or social, and she's not great at expressing her emotions. She's awkward but bluntly honest, often talking I na soft but level-tone as she's very calm like a untouched pond. But she's also very compassionate, thoughtful, and caring. She's protective of those she holds close to her heart, and she feels things deeply even if she doesn't show it. She longs to be better at interacting with people, at reading social cues and prying her shell open so she won't spend her [I]entire[/I] life alone. Not that she minds being alone, she feels like there's power in silent contemplation. 

She's vastly intelligent, Sarcastic, and she has a sort of dry but witty humor that usually confuses most people. She's complex and determined, strong but quietly so like a slow burning ember. She can often come off as distant, but that's usually because her mind is off in some other world contemplating the deepest questions of the universe. She's very observant, polite to everyone she meets, and well-mannered. She cannot stand a bully, but is not socially open enough to jump head first into every situation. She can be brave sometimes though.

Kasumi was raised by two very loving, but professional parents. Her father, a major businessman and all around silent, but strong type, is who she takes after most. But her mother, a concert pianist, is a very warm inviting person who truly can see the good in anyone. So though she takes after her father, she has always been closer to her mother, drawn to her like a moth to a flame. They were best friends all through her childhood and years after, and Kasumi was grateful to have such wonderful parents. But her father could be strict, only wanting the best for his only child, sending her to the best schools. She was always pushed to get the best grades, focus on nothing else, especially not boys. 

But that didn't lead to a very social upbringing, and as such Kasumi has never had many friends. She had one friend growon up, but who during her freshman year of high, school had moved far away. Other than that, Kasumi spent much of her time alone in the large estate her parents owned. Her only friends were her parents, and those in her parent's employ. Kasumi had never minded, at least not until recently. 

At a young age, Kasumi learned how to play the piano, something she enjoys greatly. She was also tutored in three languages; French, Latin, and Greek...along with her natural language of Japanese of course. She dreams of traveling someday, maybe being a writer or following in her mother's footsteps and plating piano professionally. She hasn't quite decided, her father wants desperately for her to take over the family business, something that Kasumi silently dreads even thinking about.
