Not a loud grunt, but a grunt that could be heard by any squirrels in the nearby area. Squirrels that would be running for cover if Kelsey's hands weren't preoccupied with the giant cooler that she was lugging down the trail towards Naiades Lake. She could do it too. Her shining silver composite bow was slung across her back, along with a quiver of arrows. Never know when people would get hungry and require a boar on a spit. It happened once. Some of the more squeamish demigods had to look away, and one of them actually threw up as the accomplished hunter cut into the belly of the boar. That was funny. Silly Cali kids. Still, the cooler stuffed with 48 cans of Missouri's finest hunting supplies, aka Busch, was heavy, and the trail wasn't as even as she remembered. She had enough strength to carry on by herself, but it was difficult. Kelsey cursed Dallas for making the first party of the year so far away from the cushy new dorm rooms. Away from the fridges with easy storage space for all the cans, especially in the vegetable crispers. Away from the tables where her beer pong dominance could be impressed upon all the newbies and they would know her status as the goddess of the bounce. She had already taken a couple breaks when she pulled out her phone to ask her cohort where she was.
Dusty D 💛 Where are you? Cooler be heavy as fuck... :(
She didn't get an immediate response so she tucked her phone back in her jean short pocket and carried on down the path. A few seconds later, she did get a buzz on her thigh, so Kelsey took the opportunity to stop.
Dusty D 💛 U would think with all the godly men around SOMEONE would offer to help. Worthless fucks. I am OMW. Do not start anything w/out me!
She giggled as she saw that. She had a point. Avem buggered off...somewhere. She didn't know where. She thought about maybe setting up the table for some action, but that set him back for at least a week. Maybe two.
Dusty D 💛 No promises! I'm almost to the lake and this cooler ain't staying closed once it hits the sand!
Kelsey figured that would get the Dionysus kid down to the lake on the double. Seemed like it with the response.
Dusty D 💛 😠 for every open can I see, you owe me shots
Kelsey smirked.Well I ain't makin' promises on that. Least I planned for it.
Dusty D 💛 Fine. 😝 You can have my dad's shine. As many shots as you desire. Warning, Rick Sykes couldn't see for three days after drinking it.

Dusty D 💛 I DON'T NEED EYES!

Dusty D 💛 Right, so I can be your guide dog? Just get down here, Helen Keller!
The Missouri girl had to sit for a second to regain her composure after that last text. It was things like that what made Dustyn a special friend. The kind she thought she had back home. But the girls on the team never looked at her the same once she first came back from Olympus. They hung out, but it was like the bond forged on the court was already broken. Her and Dustyn were picking up right where they left off before the summer break. It almost made coming to Colorado worth it. She could smell the moist air ahead now, indicating the lake shore was close. Kelsey pushed on, wanting to get her precious cargo to the promised land so she could kick back and start enjoying. She saw the open clearing and still reflection of sun on water. But as soon as she made her way onto the shore, she could see that there was no Dallas-led party. There didn't seem to be anyone around. "Fuckin' hell, Dal," Kelsey muttered under her breath. "Make a whole big deal 'bout this fiesta and not got nothin' to show. I'mma tear somethin' off that kid, I..." Her cursing trailed off as she noticed she wasn't alone on the lake shore. The girl she noticed at the announcement, the new girl. She was here. And of course, she was getting into it with BOTH the emo kids, the night kids that made her cringe knowing that technically, they blew what she could do in the darkness out of the water. Emma seemed all right by herself. She didn't talk much, and no one saw her face, but her accent was Southern enough she couldn't be all bad. Damian though. He always seemed like had some thoughts brewing, and knowing where their bread was buttered, it couldn't be good. It was unnerving for the child of Artemis in name only. Shit. What the fuck kinda party is this? Fuck, I came down ta get drunk, not sacrifice a goat to some fuckin' demon." It looked like it was a heck of a standoff, whether incidental or not, but Kelsey knew enough of conflict when to keep herself clear of any of that nonsense. I would be the only one to be here to see the damn anti-Christ summoned. Eat a fuckin' Bible, Pastor Lock." Instead, she did the only thing she thought she could do, at least until this interaction resolved itself. She plopped the cooler down on the sand and pulled out her phone.
Dusty D 💛 Fucking Nyx kids are at the lake, fucking calling demons or the apocalypse or something. The new girl from earlier is with them. C'mon down if you want to see the lake turn into blood.
Text sent, Kelsey pulled one of the beers out of cooler, taking a seat on top and cracking the can as quietly as she could, hoping that a flesh sacrifice wasn't necessary for whatever it was they were planning. At least if they needed a virgin, they were fresh outta luck there.
