Full freedom.  The CS will explain a bit more about acquiring skills and I’ll add more detailed explanation when the OOC opens.  I’m thinking about 4 or 5 people to show interest and I’ll get open an OOC.  

But essentially, I will read your background and assign starting skills at base.  You get more as The story goes on based on where you go, who you meet, what you run into, etc.  It’s all up to you.  You just have to learn.  Magic will have to be taught though because actually learning on your own, being from a world without magic at the start, would be really hard for you all, logically. 

So the short is: experiment and try things.
