Welcome to Your New Life
Premise Everyone has their own daily lives in which go about our usual vocations. Mixing in some unusual happenstance that may happen here or there, we live our lives with no real wrenches thrown. That is, unless we create those wrenches ourselves. Even then, we mostly have a way to fix/adapt to those happenings when it does happen. This is all well and good, until death comes knocking at your door, then what happens? I’ll tell you what happened, you die. The one thing in life that, no matter what you do, we just cannot avoid. The unstoppable force that catches us, one after the other. But this isn’t a story about death and how to avoid it. No. Rather, this story is about what comes after death. Everyone here, in this role play, has died for some reason or another. Why you died is relevant ONLY to your character but in the grand scheme of things, your character is dead. However, your entire being is then transferred into a new world, having only the items on you that you had on your body. When you realize what’s happening, the world around you seemed to have regressed into a world of Swords and Magic. What’s even more strange is the fact that you have one thing that works and that is your smart phone. Looking down at it, all of your previous apps are erasers and there is only one app that is open, and constantly open and it simply says, “Welcome, Adventurer, to your new life.”
The world of Videllia is a currently at war with itself. As stated above, Videllia is a place of swords and magic. Though this is true, the known world does have technology that is advanced above the medieval world. Electricity is a thing here, but, it’s not power plants and breakers but magic tubes allowing it to work. Carriages are still the basic form of transportation but there is plumbing as well. Guns do not exist as of yet and cellphones are not a thing. The world is divided into 4 zones along two, massive continents. The two continents are known simply as the “Known World” and the “Unknown World.” The Unknown world is the home of many things unknown. Some say it is full of all of the legends that inhabit the world: like a tree whose roots lead to both heaven and hell, Titans that roam the land, and the Queen of Fairies resides. There are so many myths and mysteries that surround this place that the common folk believe most to be false and the place is really just a giant mass of unlivable land. The Known world is divided into three countries. Nehzan to the North, inaros to the east and Dhell to the south. Dhell and Nehzan are at war with each other and have been for the last 300 years. While Inaros has been able to remain neutral.

The system
Okay because this is a game-esq world, there will be a leveling system for both, your player level as well as the skills, abilities and techniques you earn. How you will go about leveling them, you use them of course. I will not bother too much with calculating when skills and techniques will level, that seems like it will be too much to take care of, especially since I am expecting a wide range of skills and abilites being gained/created as the story progresses. There is an Exp gage though. This gage will be calculated for you. Anyways, enough about that boring stuff, time to get into the juicy stuff….that might still bore you, but I hope it doesn’t. Leveling up Gaining levels, in this world, will work towards a few things. One is that it shows your experience as someone who ventures into the world. Not everything will give you experience points but most things will. Crafting items wont raise your personal level but will raise the skill level of the adventurer. Also, you will gain Stat Points for leveling up. You will gain 6 points to spend freely for leveling and will gain +1 to all stats every 5 levels(lvl5, 10, 15 etc). That means by level 10, you will have gained 66 more Stat Points to spend on your character. I think that’s pretty fair, don’t you?
Your Smart Phone and You Your smart phone will be how you learn about the world as well as records your adventure. As you progress through the story, other features will be unlocked for you. Features that I won’t tell you about but it will be helpful (He really doesn’t know what they are yet…. Shut up!!) Right now, you have two very important apps to use, the first is the About Me app and the Second is the Pictopedia app. About Me The About Me app, as stated previously, is an app that you can use to check your character and all of their progression. It is where your stats are updated, level is shown, skills and abilities are shown. Likewise, you can show what weapons you have on you and able to keep on you. Pictopedia This is a camera app that uses images to analyze everything around you. In order to retrieve info on something, you pull out your phone, open the app and take a picture. You can either do it using a selfie or normally. The app, however is incomplete and needs to record data in order to improve the information you get. Depending on your level, the level of the app, and the level of the subject in the photo, different amounts of information will be displayed. As of right now, anyone/anything from levels 1-10 will give you full information. 11-20 will give you info on Name, HP, MP, and name. 21-30 will just give a name. 31 and up will yield zero information. Once you have gained enough information, there will be nothing your phone cannot analyze.
Skills Skills are things that you gain in the world. These skill are singular in category and will only allow you to access to things that will help you perform in that skill’s scope. Becoming the most powerful mage in existence isn’t done by learning the “Mage” skill, that doesn’t exist. I mean, who literally learns the skill “Mage” anyway? What you will do is learn each type of magic as you come across someone who will teach it. This is the same for fighting with a weapon. The bottom line is that you are gaining proficiency in each of these skills and as you become more proficient, your abilities will become. Each skill will have 7 Ranks with 5 levels of advancement in between. Of course, at each rank, the effort it takes to raise levels and ranks will increase. (not crazily though) Most ranks will have common ranking bonuses to your character. Any special cases will be noted in the skill list. Non-combat skills will work differently from combat skills as they do not rely on active abilities to perform their tasks. Combat Ranks Novice = Beginner in the skill. You can use rudimentary active abilities that apply to this skill. You have access to two active abilities. Adept = Practiced at the skill. Your active abilities are a bit more refined. If damage is negated but resistance is less than 10, effect still applies.
Abilities Active Abilities Active Abilities are how you implement your skills in the world. They are the practical techniques that are only in use when you command them to be used. Your active abilities are yours to create. Of course, you are limited by your rank but you only need what you want to invest in, you know what I mean? Also, you are under no obligation to create a skill as soon as you level. You can use when you are ready. Even in the middle of a fight as a Deus Ex to save yourself. I have ZERO problems with that style. Especially since I know you can draw blanks on the spot. Sorry for the thought rambling. The power of your abilities gets stronger as you use them and as your become better using that style of magic. You know, like practicing the same Punch one thousand times. All Actives have a max Level of 10. This is, a way to show what kind of character you have created and what skills they favor over others. Form of your Active abilities should be like this: Name: Description (MP: Cost) Passive Abilities Passive Abilities are abilities that are always in use. The passive abilities in this RP are mostly pre-determined. This is really to help streamline them and really knock out most of the common placed abilities without having worry about how you will get them and when you will get them. Each rank, as you saw above, unlocks a different passive. Some of them will get stronger and some will just give an effect. There are three perks that you will be able to create yourself as a passive once you reach Advanced, Grandmaster, and Transcendent ranks for each skill. You will get 7 passive abilities for each skill though, no matter what. Anything extra will come from titles or gear effects. Titles Titles are rewards for accomplishing things in the world. They give bonus passive effects based on what they are. Some titles will only be earned by one person while some may be given to a group. Either way, unlock conditions will vary and I refuse to tell you how to do it, so go do stuff. As for the Bonuses, I will make those since I decide what the titles are anyway. What game allows you to make a title and then make an effect for it….I’ll wait….No I won’t…NONE OF THEM!!!

Image or Description if what your character looks like Name: What do we call you? Age: how old are you? 12-35 age range Gender: It doesn’t matter what your character identifies as, I want your birth gender. Personality: Tell is about your character and why they do what they do. Doesn’t have to be in depth but please make some effort. Biography Tell is about your life until you died. Then tell us how you died. This is casual so I’m not expecting a novel. One or two paragraphs is fine. (I will use this to determine your stats which will be out of 60 points) Regrets: What are your regrets after dying? You have to have some since you died so young. (I will use this section to determine your starting skills and abilities. A few sentences will be fine. I won’t even read them if they are too long. Keep it brief and true to your character please) Adventurer Info This is where all of your phone’s info goes. I will have you name your abilities as this is a game and there is no reason for you to be able to cast Mega Blizzard as an apprentice ice mage. Know what I mean? Just keep all things together. If an ability belongs to a skills, list it under that skill. Inventory: all things you have acquired or have in you Your Smart phone does not need to be here.
