Labor! Socialism! Trust in the Chairman and trust in the Liberation Front. Onwards, Comrads! Victory awaits!"

Name: The Peoples Liberation Front (Commonly known as "PLF" or "The reds") Location(s): Since the glorious second revolution under the leadership of the Chairman, has the Pitt been under the peoples rule, forming the heart of the PLF. Using forced labor and the spirit of the revolution, a great push forward was made by the Chairman, who commanded that the City of the Pitt would be turned into a place of labor, while the "Line of the People", along the train tracks towards the Capital Wasteland, was formed. Multiple settlements were created in the tunnels below, thriving under the wise and benevolent leadership of the Chairman and the red party. The Long Red Trail is the name of this new "nation", is a lose conglomerate of small towns, outposts and stations, that run from Fort Kai to the Pitt itself. The PLF is thinly spread along it, yet still able to maintain a presence along the tracks and protects it settlements and main base of power, in the form of the Pitt itself. History: Years ago, the Capital Wasteland would see the scourge of the Lone Wanderer, who would bring devastation and chaos in his wake. Yet, in the Pitt, his name is still praised to this day, for he was the leader who broke the chains. But the revolution inside the Pitt had been cooking for years, with multiple factions long having formed among the slaves, united in their desire to be free. Among the slaves were two, who´s names would shape the Pitt for years to come. Eric Jones, had been a Commonwealth Minutemen, rising to the rank of Captain. A man of great ambition and plans, a failed move against General Becker would cost him dearly, forcing him to flee for his life, south, until one dark night, an ambush saw him in chains, marching to the Pitt. The other would be a young water Trader named Anthony Dunwitch, who had been captured by smugglers in the swamps of Point Lookout. Beaten to an inch of his life, he had endured a long and painful journey, that finally saw him ending up in the Pitt. Jones, always having an eye for talent and for organization, even among chains, took Anthony under his wings, protecting him from the wolves among the slaves. And while he found his desire for a certain artifact of his family unerving, he could not deny the cunning and intellect that Dunwitch possessed. Soon, the two men lead the "reds", a gang among the slaves, to which Jones preached his final ace in the hole. During his youth, he had been locked away for four months, inside the Diamond city jail, with nothing to read, but an half-rotten edition of "The Chinese Army: Special Ops Training Manual". After the year was over, the young man had no need for it anymore, as its content had been stored away in his mind, as rooted as an oak. With Dunwitch, Jones had a capable right hand, able to organize and secretly arm his men, while being ruthless enough to maintain discipline among the red. Yet, the Revolution would not be their heroic deed, but rather be trusted upon them, forcing them to act. And while the Reds performed valiantly, their contribution was waved aside, as the masses hailed the "heroes" of the uprising. Wernher, the turncoat and former lapdog of Ashur, Midea, the cowardly wench and the Lone wanderer, who had found delight in the chaos that the end of Ashurs reign would bring. Leaving the city, the lone wanderer would bestow an uneasy throne to Ashur, with Jones not willing, to not just accept his place as a council member of the new Regime under Wernher, who used Midea as his popular puppet. Half a year, the uneasy peace lasted. By then, the rift ran deep in the Pitt, with one third firmly in the hand of the Reds and the other two-thirds forming the "loyalists" of Wernher. The council by then was little more than a facade for the power struggle between Jones and Wernher, who made no secret out of the fact that he soon would purge Jones and his reds. Running out of time and options, Dunwitch acted quickly and decidedly. Taking the initiative, he ordered the reds to swarm out, using their superior training to secure weaponry and strategic positions inside the city, before thrusting the radio into Jones hand. Moments later, Jones declared the second revolution. It was a bloody three days for the Pitt, until Haven fell for the second time. Under the cheering of the Reds, Wernher was hanged from a lampost. Jones had made plans to pardon Midea to gain the support of the broad mass, yet when send his men to look for her, Dunwitch claimed, that she had resisted arrest, and he had to kill her. What followed was a period of purges, trials and political restructuring. With his position still in danger, Jones had to use an heavy handed approach to maintain both order and stability. Uncaring for the calamity that befell the distant wasteland however, by the end of the year 2278, the Pitt was pacified and Jones rule was stable. He evacuated all he deemed "loyal" to his cause, while damning all "traitors of the people" to a lifetime of servitude to pay for their crimes. The forges of the Pitt would continue to supply the forces of the Chairman, who in turn, would supply the forges with fresh flesh, for there was never a lack of traitors and enemies of the revolution. Using the Radio, Jones was able to reach a broad audience, luring them towards the newly formed settlements along the line south, which would form the new lifeline of the rising nation under the red flag. Refugees from north, south, east and west, all were welcome...after their loyalty could be proven. At this point, the old reds had been disbanded, replaced with the "Red Vanguard" and "The peoples Commissariat", both lead, by the party secretary Dunwitch. Now in the year 2281, the PLF is an industrial powerhouse, yet also beset on multiple fronts. Both Jones and Dunwitch hold ambitions and plans for the wastland, yet in the North, a powerful enemy, by the name of the Scrapper Union, has forced the PLF into a bloody conflict to defend the seat of their Industrial power. Leadership: Chairman of the Peoples Party Eric Jones The Chairman is inescapable in and around the PLF. His face is on propaganda pictures, his voice in every radio and his ideas spread out in pamphlets. A strong cult of Personality has formed around the Chairman, that still will need a few years to bear its full fruits, but its effects can yet be felt. Many fear the Commissars of the Party and its militant arm, yet few deny that they revere the Chairman himself. Like most who have spend time in the Pitt, he suffered from the effects of the city on his health. Party Secretary Anthony Dunwitch A hard man to like, with little charisma and a grim temper, Anthony is a man with a seemingly unnatural ability to suppress his own emotions and pains. The right hand of the Chairman, there is little doubt that one needs the other. Anthony lacks the charisma and the leadership abilities that Jones has, while Anthony´s cunning and ruthless efficiency, is the only thing, that keeps the red Trail united. Economy: With the forges of the Pitt behind it, the PLF has an mighty asset in its hand. Able to pump out ammunition and small-arms, it is easily able to supply a large levy army. But here, the flaw clearly shows. The PLF may be able to produce better than many, yet the quality is heavily lacking. The few slaves that knew how to operate the machines were killed in the second revolution. Other machines were heavily damaged by the fighting, and left abandoned for the trogs. Should the PLF find skilled scientists and craftsmen, to restore the Pitt to its full potential, it would easily outproduce and outclass the current production tenfold. Outside the Pitt, the PLF upholds a scavenging operations and collective farming along the red trail, yet nothing that could even get close to the importance of the Pitt itself Technology: Jones never had kind words for the Lasermusket, preferring honest bullets to fancy energy weaponry. At least, this is what he proudly proclaims over his radio. Lacking scientists and skilled craftsman, the PLF had to start from scratch, to refit and reuse the resources and supplies it had at hand, as well as the products of its forges. A crude kind of innovation has taken place among the PLF, leading to interesting, yet not overly effective constructions like the "Peoples Train", made out of Metro carts, fueled by crude Coal and Wood engines. Or the abundant "Rifle of the People", adoringly named "Canner", which is the main firearm of the PLF forces. Military: The main fighting force of the PLF is the levy infantry, it is conscripted from the population of the red line. Armed and trained by the Red Vanguard, it has long stopped being just a militia for defense and become a capable fighting army. Their equipment is reliable and in much supply, yet compared to a power armored Soldier with a laser rifle, does a PLF solder look like a relique from a long bygone era. They are led by elected officers, who have to be approved by the people's commissariat. Said Commissars are also present to ensure moral remains high and political education and loyalty remains solid. The veterans of two rebellions, form a small but hard core of the PLF, able to call favors to gain the best equipment and supply. Along the Red Trail, they are the instrument of the parties will.
