YC is a detective that is called out and has to consider her as a prime suspect. Supernatural aspects here are pretty open Victim x Detective
. . . Modern | Appalachia | Addiction | Slice of Life | Romance
Set in Appalachia, preferably modern. The town centered in this is at the center of an opioid epidemic. MC has been stuck there through her past decisions and YC has come back into town to settle some family business
. . . Modern | Slice of Life | Slow-burn
Five years ago, three best friends began a start-up lifestyle blog that took off. This success has ultimately been chalked up to my character, who majored in English. However, each of the friends has something to bring to the table, whether it is business savvy or good HR. Three years ago, my character found out that her husband was cheating on her with a prettier, younger woman who also works at the blog. With that in mind, the writer packs up and moves away without warning, giving up her shares in the company to the other heads and going across the country. When she finds out that her ex-husband and the woman he cheated with are getting married and planning a life, she decides to move back to the big city in order to exact revenge on her husband: by attempting to woo him. After all, she never got over the divorce. She enlists the help of the other company manager to help accomplish this. He's a playboy and has never settled down; she makes sure that he understands that whatever happens is only for the purpose of making her ex-husband jealous. Medieval Fantasy | Arranged Marriage | Politics | World-Building
Provst, a well-known country in the north of Haal, is reputable for their peoples' ability to purify and manipulate water. They have been entrenched in a war with your county for what seems like centuries; your country has no clean water, and the Helians refuse to give your people aid. It stems from the death of their beloved Crown Prince who, three years prior, died under suspicious circumstances when your dignitaries were invited to discuss country relations and recompense for services rendered. Since then, Provst has neglected to send any nobles to help with purifying water, leading to a war between the two countries. Provst is happy to continue the fighting until a new threat looms on their borders. King Wulff of Provst gives the gift of his daughter to your country's King/Crown Prince, along with promises of keeping your people alive with potable water. The trade is that your country's army, who is renown for their strength and numbers, assist Provst in fighting this new threat. The Moorveckis, a race of creatures somewhere between elves and goblins, have become a bigger problem than you care to admit. Your country wouldn't even think of this offer as more than a slap in the face, given how many of your citizens have died senselessly. The problem? Trouble looms at your borders as well, and one you are sure you won't be able to fight on your own. Nations from the south, east, and west have decided they want your land for their own, and your armies - although well-known - have suffered due to the lack of sanitary water. You accept the offer of the Helian's sole princess, bound to you by an unbreakable promise: marriage. Helios will send aid immediately, but what happens when they learn of attacks on their princess when she arrives? You don't know the culprit, and keeping the spoiled princess alive is a task that requires both your full-time commitment and attention. When these threats reach you, you have to wonder if it is a rebellion, another nation, or the Moorvecki. Is it worth it to keep this princess alive, and at what cost? Princess x King/Prince/Knight
. . . Small Town Murder Mystery | Reunion Romance | 21+ | Supernatural
High school sweethearts end either in two ways: an unhappy divorce in twenty years or heartbreak after graduation. The latter occurred between your character and mine. One stayed behind and invested in the town's future while the other moved far, far away in hopes they would never see their home again. Unfortunately, this wasn't exactly the case and they've had to come back. There's a swing nearby, where the high school sweethearts would come to swing, to make out, and to speak of their dreams. They've met again, shocked to find each other both changed and more mature. Unfortunately the swing won't hold any future memories, as the stench of death wafts towards them through the field. Who's killing small-town innocents? And does it have anything to do with the previous couple? Witch x Detective
. . . Medieval Fantasy | Mental Illness | 21+ | Political Intrigue
Some say a curse on King Trevnore kept him from producing male heirs. All say that a curse struck his only heir. Her curse, which has been placed by an unknown source, prevents her from differentiating reality from her hallucinations. These symptoms, both auditory, visual, and tactile, are kept at bay by the assistance of wilthorn, an herb with properties that rid her of hallucinations but produce a range of side effects... the most significant include lethargy, apathy, and sensitivity to sensations such as light, sound, and touch. To combat this, she is often seen in the palace with a decorative mask that dims the sensory overload. Now that King Trevnore has passed from a chronic illness and, with no male heirs, his daughter will ascend to the throne. While she has been taught by both her mother and father the ways of court, she has never been involved in major decisions, integrating herself into the public, or how to truly rule a nation. Rumors have spread, and the woman is inundated with offers of marriage and worries of war. She seeks a council - and a king - that will best serve her... but without using wilthorn, her hallucinations run rampant. She will have to learn how to live while dealing with experiences, emotions, and people that she has never had thought of before. Will you aide her to become a kind ruler, or assist her in tearing her people apart? Queen x Noble/Knight
. . . Medieval Fantasy | Grand Adventure | 21+ | Rebellion
The Kingdom of Chevair is distraught. Not only is the sovereign King Jakoby dead, so are his heirs regardless of their claim - legitimate or otherwise - to the throne. While it is unknown how they all met their ends, it is assumed that someone vying for the crown has murdered the remaining threats through poison, assassinations, and 'suicides'. Those who insist on investigating the string of deaths find themselves imprisoned for crimes they did not commit or meet the same fate as the royal heirs. The citizens care little regarding what happens to the top echelon of nobility. As far as they're concerned, it is well-deserved and a long time coming... that is, until, money is demanded from them. Taxes, like first-born sons and extra animals, are increased until many cannot sustain the lives that they are accustomed to. Many find themselves selling themselves for a piece of bread. They believe that the situation cannot become much worse until those vocal about the queen's tactics find themselves encased in stone. Villages fall to this new magic, and without a cure, there is little many can do apart from pay the tithes demanded of them. A rebellion is brewing to find any female heirs that the king could have left behind. They know that these changes are a product of Queen Ophela, a foreigner to this land, and many suspect her hand behind the slaughtering of innocents. There are rumors that circulate that a cloistered nun has the bloodline to challenge the throne, although this is only hearsay. The rebellion's leader ensures that this illegitimate daughter of King Jacoby has the power to rescind statues to living. The only problem is that the woman they intend to place as a mouthpiece for the rebellion has no earthly idea she has hidden potential. The rebellion sends its best to retrieve her from the cloister, where she had been placed as an orphan, only to find that the queen's resources are already attempting to take care of the woman. They must find a way to convince the nun to leave and serve with them while fighting the queen's army at every turn, as well as find the traitorous wretch who is leaking information to the enemy.
