Name: Talon Company Flag: Location(s): Fort Bannister (Headquarters), Various outposts and locations around the Wasteland and the D.C. Ruins (TBD) History: Talon Company has been infamous in and around the Capital Wasteland area as a paramilitary group known for its willingness to take any contract offered, provided the appropriate compensation is given. As a result they're often the go-to source for armed guards, hit-men, extra muscle, and full-blown military operations throughout the region. Their employers are kept secret, and rumours have abounded that they must have some rather powerful clientele to afford the amount of manpower and military armament they can bring to bear. Talon Company operates much like a large and well-armed crime family. Extortion, raiding, scavenging, and blackmail are all tactics they're willing to employ to achieve their goals and fulfill their contracts, and they're fiercely loyal to their own. Once you don the black combat armor: there's no leaving the Company. Headquartered at Fort Bannister, Talon Company suffered a major setback when a Brotherhood of Steel contingent stormed the facility in a surprise attack. Commander Jabsco, the then-leader of the Company, had become complacent and had come to believe that The Brotherhood was unwilling to challenge Talon Company directly. However, the fight with The Enclave and their continued pledge to support the wasteland populace had no doubt emboldened Lyon's Knights, and so Jabsco was caught unprepared and unable to resist an assault by the power-armored forces of The Brotherhood of Steel. Jabsco paid for that mistake with his life. Since the storming of Bannister, new leadership has taken charge of The Company. Commander Lance Halscomb is now the acting commander of the mercenaries, a relatively young commander in his late 20s who rose through the ranks quickly on a reputation of sheer brutality and tactical acumen. Halscomb intends to not only strike back against the groups which have wronged Talon in the past, but expand the Company’s reach across The Capital Wasteland. Leadership: Commander Lance Halscomb, 28 years old and the acting Commander of Talon Mercenary Co. He was a trusted tactical adviser to Jabsco and when he was killed during the battle of Fort Bannister, Halscomb quickly positioned himself to take the reigns. He shrewdly killed or made deals with any of the old guard that might have challenged him. Now in complete control of The Company, Halscomb has been running Talon with a cold and calculating eye for detail and precision, intending to revitalize The Company and fully take advantage of the power vacuum left behind by the struggle between the Brotherhood of Steel and The Enclave Economy: Nominally a mercenary company, Talon gets a large portion of its revenue from contracts that it receives in and around the Capital Wasteland region. Infamous for its willingness to take any contract or hit regardless of the ethics involved, Talon is sought after whenever brutality and deadly efficiency are the needful qualities. However, the group takes a variety of contracts: escort missions, bodyguards services, protection, and retrievals. Often times they’ll find themselves fighting for wastelanders just as often as they’ll be found being paid to slaughter them. It’s a simple matter of business and who is the highest bidder. More often than not Talon scavenging teams help to supplement the groups income and ensure that they have an adequate supply of munitions and equipment. These scavenge runs can take them deep into places like the D.C. ruins and bring them into conflict with others who may be after the same treasures. Technology: Talon Co. is perhaps the best supplied military force in the Capital Wasteland after The Brotherhood Chapters and The Enclave. While lacking in Power Armor, the group has at its disposal pre-war combat armor (coated in a fine dark coat of Talon black for intimidation and brand recognition) , laser weaponry, ballistic guns including assault rifles and snipers rifles, and even heavier armaments such as flamers, missile launchers, and the occasional fat man. In addition Talon has a fair number of reprogrammed bots that they use sparingly to help guard their outposts and Fort Bannister. They also have access to a number of pre-war artillery pieces: namely mortars and howitzers that can provide fire support during missions of particular criticality to the Company, as well as some repurposed and refurbished scavenged vehicles that can help provide quick transport along the wastelands broken roads. Military: Talon Company has as its disposable a sizeable number of mercenary forces, and following The Brotherhood and Enclave’s War, they are one of it not the largest military force in the region after an aggressive recruitment campaign to replenish their numbers and revitalize their military operations. Fort Bannister has been rebuilt and a large number of new imposing defenses constructed under Commander Halscombs direction, as he intends to never again let such a surprise assault that The Brotherhood previously conducted occur. As a paramilitary group, they are well trained, well disciplined, and well armed: certainly a force to be reckoned with and not one to be underestimated.
