His mother died during childbirth and his early months were rought with illness. Lord Edwyn’s personal maester predicted Robert would not reach his first birthday but the God’s shined their light over Robert. He grew learning his fathers art. The fletcher known as Allyn Cadogan was a master of his craft and his intention was to pass it on to his only son. Initial struggles by the youngster were further amplified by his want to be out rather than working. Even so, the young boy soon revealed an inherited talent. During his twelfth year Lord Edwyn had guests from a House he was trying to build bonds with. Having a good relationship with Allyn he offered to take Robert hunting. Allyn’s initial judgement was to turn down the offer, but Robert convinced him otherwise. The hunt went well initially, Lord Edwyn taking down a buck that drew close to a horse in size. However Lord Edwyn and Robert soon found themselves separated from the hunting party as they entered thick woodland. Out of seemingly nowhere a large boar charge Lord Edwyn, his horse bucking the Lord of House Landry to the floor. With an injured leg and shoulder Lord Edwyn could do little more than try to crawl to safety. The boar rounded a tree before turning to charge the Lord. As it closed Robert rushed to the Lords fallen bow and picked it up. He quickly botched an arrow and let it loose. The arrow hit its mark perfectly, dropping the boar to the floor. Lord Edwyn broke into laughter while Robert simply stared at the weapon in his hands. He had never fired a bow until that moment but Lord Edwyn saw to it that Robert had all the practise he could want. While Allyn was frustrated his son was not focussing his fletching skills, he couldn’t argue with his son spending time with the Lord. As Robert grew older so did Lord Edwyn’s own children. This meant that the Lord had less and less time to spend with Robert. He still cared for the boy but ultimately he had to focus most of his time on the future generation of his house. As a result Robert started to take his natural talent with a bow into the woods. A few times a week he snuck off the try harder and harder shots until he developed his talent to become one of the most effective bowmen, not just in the Riverlands, but in the entire of Westeros. During his twentieth year he discovered that his father had fallen into mountains of debt to a nobleman. A small loan had grown excessively with the high rates of interest, leaving his father with no hope of ever paying it off. Constant threats of violence at lack of payment terrified Allyn. He had seen what the nobleman had done to other villagers, to the point that many in the village had become destitute. Unfortunately Lord Edwyn was unaware of the situation, busy playing the games that Lords had to. That meant Robert decided to take action himself. Under the cover of darkness he waited along a dark road, patiently waiting for the noblemans wagon to pass through. However it wasn’t the nobleman he was after, it was his coin. With ruthless efficiency the lightly guarded caravan was soon left with no protection. Robert had left several bodies but not a single coin. For several days he kept the money stashed away in a secret location, before providing his father with enough to clear his debt. He claimed it was savings since his early years and fortunately the lie was good enough for his father to believe him. In the days that followed Robert sat back and watched his fellow villagers and the way they lived. He couldn’t stand to see those he had grown up around suffer and so began the myth of The Revenant. The Revenant is the name given to Robert by those on the end of his thievery. Appearing from nowhere like a demonic shadow leaving nothing alive in its wake. While the dramatic retelling of the events made Robert laugh, nobody had any idea that he was stealing coin from caravans and leaving coin on his neighbours doorsteps. He has continued his good work to the present day. He has avoided capture and his identity is still secret. His radius of operation has extended beyond his village to those near him. He is a demon to the rich and a saviour to the poor.

Personality

Courageous * Dependable * Ruthless * Attentive * Intelligent * Sarcastic * Adaptable * Survivalist Personality: Those who meet Robert are often greeted with a smile. He is often easy going and enjoys exchanging banter and jibes with others. Even during times of high stress or trauma he can often be found trying to lighten the mood. His sarcastic nature is one of his defining features that those who know him have learned to love. However those who don’t know him don’t always react the best to his sarcasm. He isn’t a noble in any respects and has a dislike for the rich in the world. The only exception is Lord Edwyn who he has a lot of respect for. He would fight for the Lord if needed as he would for anyone he cares for. While not a conscious decision Robert takes in his surroundings very well. He can spot people acting strange in a crowd and the quickest exit when inside. It’s just something he started doing subconsciously soon after he began his life of looking after the poor. He paints his face to ensure his identity remains hidden and to further sell the story of The Revenant as being an otherworldly being.
