Money. Yeah, not a big plan to be honest, because she isn't really going to the war for the victory. Command Seal: A surprisingly simple mark that looks like like a collection of petals on a flower. Personality: A rather charming individual. She is dedicated to her mission. It may as well be that she becomes a bit of a machine when it comes to tasks dedicated to her shrine and duties. Only really cheering up when things go off the rails. Bio: The Katsu family may not seem too important. Simply put they have lived at a single shrine of over ten generations. Tending to the wishs of the kitsune spirit who is said to reside there. They tend to the floorboards, they clean and wash the tiles. There is nothing all that special about them. They are a modest family, who have trained themselves to defend against bandits, and to read in multiple languages from scrolls that have washed ashore. But time is not kind to old families. As faith in spirits fades, the shrines slowly lose their luster. Money is required, and sometimes one cannot make that while wandering the streets of Tokyo. So, Chieko, second daughter and less loved their her sisters, volunteered to take on a spiritual journey to Paris. To build a stronger footing for the Katsu family and their beloved shrine. --- Magic Circuit Switch: The feeling of sunlight on her skin. Number of Magic Circuits: C Quality of Magic Circuits: C --- Elemental Affinity: Ether Magecraft: - General Magecraft: The Basics of Magecraft. Chieko is versed enough in simple magecraft that she can utilize the basics. Or in the case where she might not be able to use it, has a complete understanding of how and why it works. - Kotodama mysticism: The Japanese belief that mystical powers dwell in words and names. English translations include "soul of language", "spirit of language", "power of language", "power word", "magic word", and "sacred sound". The notion of kotodama presupposes that sounds can magically affect objects, and that ritual word usages can influence our environment, body, mind, and soul. It is the control of a name that gives one power of another person or object. It is essentially taking control of the spirit of an object. For example, using the words "Door Shut" will make an open door in her area shut. Because she is taking the spirit, and giving it a command. Proper utilization of this control can even be used against humans. Though any decent mage can easily wash the control away, and it's more like incredibly convincing orders than actually forcing anybody. This form of mysticism even includes the ability to drag for spirits, as long as their name is known to the person trying to draw them forth. Which is why when communing with the dead, Chieko must ask for the name of the person she is seeking. - Ukehi Ritual: A ritual for divination. By communing with the gods, one is able to use one of six possible functions. - Ask for information or messages from the kami - Establish the will of the kami - Predict the outcome of an event - Enervate or animate living beings - Control bad weather - Kill one's enemies The dictates of ukehi can come as a dream, but more commonly the petitioner would use the ritual to ask a question of the kami and then await an omen of some sort to confirm their response. - Kiai (Martial Arts): A Kiai is the shouting often associated with martial arts. When shouting, one empowers their action. For example, while a punch may knock a man back a foot, utilizing Kiai in conjunction with that punch can knock them back ten feet. Essentially an act of taking the spiritual force of ones words, and applying them to an action. As a practitioner of various forms of japanese martial arts, the Kiai amplifies that power greatly. So that even when facing somebody physically stronger, a single blow can demolish their defense. Crest: None. Rather the family line has existed since the Feudal Era, and their shrine has existed as a cornerstone for years. They have no crest, but rather are an old family with great respect. Weapons: - Katsu Shrine Armor: The metal plates on her dress are not just for show. They are arranged in such a way as to mimic the foundation and landscape of the Katsu's family shrine. This imbues a kind of mobile shrine onto Chieko. A protection that requires any attack be of the level to destroy a shrine before it can harm her. As such, things like bullets cannot harm her. Or any magic that is directed at her will suffer a penalty. - Shrine Tree Seeds: By planting a single seed, within a day a tree shall grow. These are seeds filled with spirits, who acts as guardians and spies for the Katsu family. It is possible to use these trees in a manner to amplify any defenses the family might have, and to hide them from those seeking to do them harm. - Shrine in a bag: All the things needed to make a shrine can be carried in a bag. It allows Chieko to take a small building, and make it into a shrine.
