A sly smile took over the creature's face. Its reflection wavered like the rippling surface of the lake, almost ethereal, but still there. How would the creature lure this traveler into its domain? Would it invite the man for a swim, or would it ask for help? The favourite way of this particular lake demon was to pretend to be drowning. That lured good willed people into the lake in no time, unsuspecting of the demise they'd meet the moment they'd touch the creature. "(The water is nice. Don't you want to refresh yourself with a swim? I'm so lonely without a friend.)" the creature spoke in a suggestive voice that barely matched the eerie look of it. The creature was careful not to come above the surface of the lake at all, staying low on the water of the shore, curious eyes examining its prey. The greenish hair flowed around its head like algae. The creature smiled seemingly innocently, blowing bubbles onto the surface playfully. The man reached out to touch the creature's face, then. Its smile widened, large eyes not following the curving of its mouth. As soon as the man's hand pierced the surface of the water, the creature's hand shot out, grapping the man's wrist with a surprising force. Sharp, yellowish nails scraped the skin of the man's wrist. It was unnaturally cold to touch, not like the pulsing blood and warm meat the creature was oh so used to. Still, like a well-oiled machine, the creature yanked the man into the lake with it all the while a giggle sounded from its lips, a young woman's laughter. "(Come play, come play... the water is nice, why won't you meet your demise? Drown with me, drown.)"
