He used to replay the events of that day in his head before he went to sleep, as if somehow doing that would allow him to change things, to save Tatiana from her then unknown fate. The day was a testimony to his failure to keep his family safe - to his inability to prepare for a disaster. He had barely survived it and Tiffany, the one he left Newnan with, had died. It could have just as easily have been him. And here they were now, what felt like an eternity later, and he couldn't help but worry that Tatiana would be deemed violent and would be kicked out of the community. Yes, he cared for Ash's feelings and he knew that Ash had to be in a lot of pain, but his mind was focused on his family's safety. Ash was bleeding and Jack made sure to shift Jamie, that way the little guy wouldn't be able to see. He didn't need to add to the emotional trauma that it pained him to know his son likely would grow up with. This world wasn't one where people ended up with good mental health. "[sub]1[/sub]Все хорошо, Джейми, приятель? Папа здесь," he reassured his son softly, smiling at the little baby even though on the inside he didn't feel like smiling at all. Someone was begging for the screaming to stop. Jack's hearing felt a little fuzzy - as if cotton balls had been shoved in his ears and he just focused on his baby. His baby - the baby of the woman who might not be allowed to stay because of this. Jack knew that earlier, he had been thinking that he wouldn't leave any member of his family behind - that either they all got in or they all would leave. But that choice seemed selfish now. As long as Jamie had one parent inside, he would be at peace with that. His heart was aching for Tatiana but it was breaking for his son. His eyes darted upwards as one of the men they had come in with was moving towards Tatiana and his heart started to beat a little faster. His wife swore at Riley and started talking about Rasputin. The screaming at least stopped and Tatiana cleaned up a shattered coffee mug. He didn't know what to do.

Beatrice Decker

Location: Quarantine (W: Conference Room) Skills: N/A
Beatrice was satisfied with her choice to stay out of this. She had lost a lot of people over the years - but she never thought of any of them as being her people until she had left Newnan's community. It was a fundamental shift in her thinking, spurred on by the fact that she had become friends with James and Ryan. She had chosen to let them be her people - her very first people. Thana, Manny, Alex, and Thalia were simply the second wave from that shift. She wasn't reacting as explosively as the others were to the news that Thana was dead as Beatrice had written her off as dead a long time ago. If anything, she would have been angry to discover that Thana was alive. To her, alive meant that Thana had betrayed them - that she had not had the decency to say goodbye. Perhaps it was cold of her, but that was how Beatrice was. People died all of the time in this life. Thana had died a good person - a friend. She'd remain that way. It was this train of thought that kept her from screaming and punching, from going over to Thalia and Alex and the others. She caught Thalia looking over in her direction, and while she made eye contact, Beatrice didn't say a word. If she was going to be honest with herself, she was a little upset still over Thalia's earlier comment - the one that had caused her to want her own space. Maybe Thalia assumed that she needed to be alone because of Thana's death. She didn't. Beatrice was more or less determined to get her people safely accepted into this community, which would be an easy task now given that they all look nice and stable in comparison to Tatiana, and then she would most likely leave and strike out on her own. She had strayed too far from her own path over the last year or so. However, as Alex had a bit of a moment, Beatrice's eyes snapped to attention and she got up, walking on over to him. She crossed her arms before standing sort of off to his side, as if challenging anyone to come up and try to talk to him. He needed a moment. The very least she could do was enforce that with a glare that could kill.
