She'll wear anything she's sure she'll look good in, though she is never without her gloves. They are white, stretch to her elbows, and she absolutely refuses to take them off. Why? Well, that isn't your business, is it?
‹Hero Name› Antartica ‹Quirk Name› Artic Frost ‹Quirk Type› Emitter ‹Quirk Description› Eira's quirk allows her to focus and make an area around her colder. She can control the size (up to a 20m radius) and temperature decrease of the area, however the shape of it will always be a sphere, with the centre being her. Lower temperatures and larger areas require more concentration, which makes multitasking difficult, and increases the strain on Eira. At the largest range, it is impossible for Eira to maintain her quirk and do anything but breathe. If it is cold enough or something stays in her radius for too long, frost will begin to form on it, but this is just regular frost. The immediate area around her is always cold, however this area is so small it does not cause issues for those around her. Eira's skin is cold to the touch, and if she holds something for more than a minute, frost will form. It may be possible to turn this effect not, but presently, she cannot. Eira's quirk does not grant her cold resistance. She can stand lower temperatures for longer than most, but she still feels the cold and overuse of her quirk is very dangerous, especially since she has a difficult time warming up afterwards. ‹Inventory & Possessions› Gloves: She never seems to take them off. When wearing them, she can touch things without icing them over. Ever since she got them, she hasn't told a soul about what happens when she touches things without them. They don't need to know. Home: She lives with both her parents and elder brother. All alive, all healthy. Snow Globes: Though it is a little ironic, Eira likes to collect snow globes. She's not when it started, or when it will end. One thing is for sure though: she has a lot.
‹Sample Post›
"Been thinking about where you want to go?" "Mmm." "Oh, where? Actually, let me guess. U.J.?" "Yeah." "It's a good choice. Oh, gloves off." Eira hesitantly slipped them off, letting her bare arms and wrist free. It was summer, and it was supposed to be hot, but all she could feel was the chill of the air. She sighed, letting her thoughts wash over her. It was so cold, she was so cold. Ever since Eira was young, and her quirk had manifested, everything was cold. She must've looked as miserable as she felt, because when she took her eyes off of the floor, she was met with warm brown ones, the same as hers, filled with concern. "It's alright, Eira," and a hand on her shoulder. It was supposed to be warm, but she couldn't feel it. She moved to swat it off, but hesitated. Right, no gloves. She couldn't do that. The hand left anyway, because her skin was cold too. "Think I'll get in, Aids?" "Aidan. And of course you will. Your quirk's really strong, after all," came the reply, and he, her brother, grinned, ruffling Eira's hair. She could only scowl in return, sombre mood replaced by one more foul. "Quirk, huh?" she replied simply. Aidan bit his lip nervously. Wrong answer. "Oh, you should wash your hands," he said, a little too quickly, motioning towards the sink. It was full of steaming and soapy water. "What do you know anyway," she said bitterly, shoving her hands into the water. "You don't even have a quirk." Aidan flinched out of the corner of her eye, but he said nothing, fixated on Eira's violent scrubbing. "Want mine? 'Cause I don't," and an exasperated sigh in reply. "Eira, don't say that." It was her turn to be silent. She pulled a hot towel off of the radiator, and quickly dried her hands off. The air was filled with no words, but instead, thick, thick tension. It was a good minute before either spoke. Eira silently cursed herself. Maybe she should start to think before she talked, but really, she never would. It wasn't as if she would've said anything else. "We should talk about this, you know," Aidan said, pulling Eira's gloves from the tub of water they had been in. He left them out to dry, and she could do nothing but stare longingly at them. "Mmm." "Are you going to?" "Nah." "You are so- nevermind. Actually, scratch that, you're insufferable. Just let me do this for you, ok?" Eira dropped the towel onto the side of the sink, dangling her arms uselessly in the air. She couldn't use them again until her gloves were clean. Well, she could, but she didn't want to. She didn't want to feel the sheets of ice coming from her skin. Not anymore. It was difficult, trying not to touch anything, and it kind of hurt her arms after a while, but she was used to it by now. "You already do too much. Stop it, I don't need you to babysit me," she replied bluntly. "Jeez. You're my sister, so I'll do it if I want." "Are you really alright with this?" "With what?" Eira gaped at him, before gesturing wildly. "This! You could be doing anything but you're looking after me! You some kinda masochist or some shit?" "Like I said, you're my sister. And I don't mind doing this, so don't put words in my mouth," he replied. "And don't swear." "You- ugh! Stop doing that. Your stupid- pity thing." "Don't have any pity for you, Eira. You're better than me at everything," Aidan said, a lazy smile on his face. "Besides, it's hard to pity you when you act like an angry gremlin." Eira muttered under her breath in reply, though considerably less irritated then before. Once again, neither spoke for some time, though it was considerably more comfortable. She took to gazing out the window, admiring the gentle breeze. Her brother stared at her instead, as if trying to pry into her mind. She made obscene gestures with her hands, she couldn't do anything else with them, and he grinned and joined her with staring aimlessly into the outside. "They're done now," and he gently handed Eira her gloves back. She quickly put them on, flexing her fingers and crossing her arms. How she hated having her gloves off. She never wouldn't, not until the day her quirk was gone. "We're gonna get some other ones as well. They look the same, but just so you have something to wear when one set's in the wash." "Thanks," was all she said in reply, still in a bit of a bitter mood. Slumped over, she began to leave. She had things that needed to be done after all. When she was halfway out the door, she turned back for a second. "Love you, Aids." "For the-" and a sigh. "Love you too, Eira." In order to set up this link, he has to make skin contact with the other person. The transferral is not instantaneous, and Seth ends up experiencing whatever pain is cause for a moment before it is transferred. There is no way to limit or control what is transferred, and everything even mildly painful is caught up in the transferral. He is capable of breaking links at any time if he wishes, and does not need to break it through going out of range or another touch. After establishing the link, he does not have to keep holding onto the other person, and the link remains as long as the other person remains in a range of 15m from him. If they exit this range, the link is broken and another touch is needed to remake it. When one link is broken, all others remain intact so long as they are all within his range. He also cannot create a link between two other people, only from himself and others (this kind of effect can be created by transferring person A's pain to himself and then to person B though). Shoes against the hard floor. Blip, blip, blip. The maddening sound of the heart monitor. "Does it hurt?" "Not- not too much! They say I'm getting better," comes the reply, but her smile is strained. Around her eyes are dark circles, and it doesn't take a doctor to know that she's exhausted. Her thin arms stretched out over the bed lead to equally thin hands, which Seth clasps onto as if she might vanish when he lets go. "You know, I can-" "No! I mean, um, I'm sorry. Nevermind," she says, biting her lip nervously. Seth sighs, lifting up their hands and bringing them closer to him. "It's okay, Ellie. I won't. But just remember that if you want me to, I will," he says, and gets a small smile in return, which quickly dissolves into peals of laughter. "What- what's so funny? What- stop laughing. Oh my god, stop laughing. I'm gonna scream. Ells, I'm fucking serious." "Sorry. I'm sorry. I just wanted to laugh. I'm sorry," she says, wiping her eyes, and her smile revitalised. "Not been doing it too much?" "No. Sorry." "Don't- apologise. It's fine. I can come see you tomorrow, as well, y'know. If you wanna laugh a bit more." Almost instinctively, he holds her hands a little tighter. "You don't have to. Sorry. Oh, god, sorry. Ugh," Ellie replies, brow furrowing, but it's honestly kind of cute. Seth leans over to brush some hair out of her face before going right back to holding her hands. She cocks her eyebrow at him, and gets a smirk in return. "Don't worry about it. It's alright. Anyway, I'm coming whether you like it or not. I mean, I gotta go now, but I'll be back tomorrow, same time. Have fun while I'm gone, 'kay," he says, and finally lets go, only to stand up. He picks up his bag off of the floor. The zip is broken, but he forces it shut and begins to walk out. "Um, yeah! Seth." "Hmm?" he says, turning to look at her. "Love you!" Ellie grins, making a little heart with her hands. "Have a nice day." "Yeah. Love you too, Ells. Try sleep more tonight, I'll see you later," Seth says, and he can't hide the smile that comes onto his face. He leaves the hospital room, and once the door is shut behind him, everything feels a bit more dreary. Outside, the rain still pours. He doesn't have an umbrella either, and when he steps out of the front door, he's immediately pelted by water. He ends up walking in the cold for quite some time. There isn't a single thing about or on him that isn't completely soaked through at this point. He stops when he gets to a bus stop, where someone else is currently standing. A friend, of sorts. The other man raises his hand in some kind of greeting, and then takes a drag on his cigarette. "Hey. Visit the rich girl?" "Huh? Yeah. Hey, give me that," Seth says, trying to snatch the umbrella out of his hand, which is then held infuriatingly out of his reach. His irritated expression is matched by a lazy, amused smile. He gives it a few more attempts before promptly giving up, resigning himself to being soaked. The holes in the soles of his shoes soak up water into his socks, and it's very uncomfortable. "Fuck off. How long does she have left?" The umbrella is still held tantalisingly out of reach, and Seth regrets not investing in shoes with higher heels. Ones that didn't have holes in them either would be pretty nice too, actually. "Year. At most." "And she's loaded? No family?" "Yep." "Shit, you're gonna be-" Seth grins, the sides of his mouth curling up into a catlike smirk. "Fuck yeah. Just you wait, I'm gonna be absolutely minted." "Sly bastard," the other man says, but he looks more impressed than anything. "Playing the longest game I've ever seen, but it's paying off, yeah?" "Who gives a damn. I've been at this for too fucking long, about time I get something out of this." With one swift motion, he snatches the umbrella, much to the other man's surprise. It's not like he needs it, he's already covered in so much water that a little more wouldn't make a difference, but he just felt like it. He doesn't get to revel in the anger on his face though, because in an instant, he's running like hell. It's a good day.
