At least until you piss him off, then he flips from this stoic diligent student into a raving lunatic just itching to get a brand new "training dummy or buddy" as he will correct himself. His personality quirks come from his over-commitment to trying to perfect everything. This leads him to be silent most of the time, as he focuses in on what he is doing allowing no distractions. However, if this state of zen is broken his real personality shines through as an aggressive, unempathetic, and selfish man who's only concern is advancing his own goals. He thinks little of anyone he doesn't believe is trying their absolute best to advance their studies. He also doesn't believe there is such a thing as a fair fight. In the real world, nobody plays fair and rules can and will be broken then so might as learn now. A quick note about Max is he loathes his name. He goes by Max to everyone that knows him and even insisted that the teachers do the same. His parents believed his name was the perfect reflection of the future they saw for him and would strike fear in his enemies, but "Miximo Muerte" or "Maximum Death" in English had to be the lamest name possible. If you want to break his zen in an instant, just say his real name in front of him and he'll throw a fist before you finish his last name. Background | Max's family background is an interesting one too say the least. His family was actually quite wealthy and had a pretty good standing as elites in the business world. They have the same snobbish attitude as other rich people, but more modernized than the old school aristocrats who go on about prestige and how powerful their bloodlines are. Max's family believed in a different power. The power of money was far more useful than some entitled bloodline of dragons. Well, that and they specialized in summoning Demons. Though demons were more of a blanket term used for the myriad of Dark and dangerous creatures his family chose to specialize in as their favored summons. The family had a firm belief that raw destructive power wasn't as important for winning as abilities were. A dragon may rip apart stone with its claws, but all that strength does little to protect it from curses, poison, and illusions. This may not kill it, but in most fights, people tend to forget that the summoner is the far more important target. Max's family's real power is in not winning in the summon vs summon fight, but the summoner vs summoner. To this end, Max was trained in various forms of combat to help combat the many kinds of summoners he may find himself squaring off against. He was taught to always press his advantage, but not to be afraid to hold onto a few tricks to catch his opponent by surprise with. Max learned a combination of Kickboxing and traditional Boxing to teach how to strike with strong decisive blows meant to end a fight fast if an opponent underestimated his unarmed abilities. He next learned swordplay though specialized in short swords and daggers. His goal was to either dual wield them if caught in a dual or to make a quick precise stab with a hidden blade if an opportunity presented itself. Then finally he was trained in small arms. He was taught to use various pistols both low and high caliber. His training did teach him the basics of rifles, but his family wanted his focus on close range combat. The idea was there were more opportunities to catch his opponent off in close range. The pistol was more meant to give him a range option in case his enemy was Machina who often specialize in such weapons or to give an enemy with overwhelming melee combat pause. His training was to use one large profile high caliber pistol to worn at his side and to keep a second low caliber silenced pistol hidden on his body. The idea is that any sensible enemy would zero in on the large pistol as the greatest threat and aim to take it out, but would then be caught off by the silent plink of the silenced pistol when they least expect it. This arsenal of training is finally backed up with state of the art equipment to further sharpen Max's edge in any surprise combat scenario.
Lightning A .50 caliber semi-automatic handgun, the closest real-world equivalent would be a Desert Eagle. It has a custom case that allows rails along the top and underneath the barrel and has several runes engraved along its surface. It is currently equipped with simple a red dot sight and custom made Magitech flashlight. This special state of the art flashlight is what gives Lightning its name, but not for the reason you'd expect. It was created using a series of solar runes carved along the gun's surface that collects actual sunlight that is then stored in a high capacity mana-battery. The flashlight, when toggled on and off, produces an impressive 4000 lumens of light that can equate to a mini spotlight. This on its own could easily blind a person in darkness, but its real power is an additional switch tied to the trigger pool of Lightning. A series of 8 capacitors are tucked inside the flashlight one for each bullet in a magazine. Upon pulling the trigger the flashlight will produce a 9 million candela flash of light, that is 2 million more than a flashbang. The handgun was dubbed "Lighting" because of this blinding light followed by loud discharge of the gun, thus the flash before the thunder. Lightning is typically loaded with FMJ rounds with dragon scale cores that are designed to punch through several inches of armor or dragon scales. Whisper A small .308 select fire pistol, the closest real-world equivalent would be a Glock 42 with rails along the top of the barrel. Whisper on its own is nothing special beyond its ability to be easily concealed. The real power comes with its many attachments. The first and the one that gives it its name is a special made Magitech silencer. This modern silencer not only dampens sound to an unhearable 10 decibels, the equivalent of breathing but also acts as a recoil compensator while doing so. The silencer utilizes several kinetic, sonic, and conversion runes to absorb the excess energy and sound that is dispersed by the gases of the bullet as it exits the barrel and directs that force downward to create a counterforce to help fight the guns recoil. The recoil reduction doesn't completely eliminate recoil when held in the hand, but when stabilized with a stock extender, the recoil becomes non-existent. The next is a lightweight stock extender modified to fold for easier storage and concealment, nothing special beyond that. The final attachment and arguably more important than the silencer is a small low profile scope that is made perfectly to slide over the rail of the Whisper. This scopes range isn't too impressive only accommodating shots at up to a hundred meters, but its real power is in its lens. This has been modified with a unique and difficult to make magic sensing rune. This rune pulses scanning for the presence of magic, then when found the lens will highlight these magical entities even through solid surfaces. Whisper is typically loaded with hollow point rounds which better-stopping power vs a low or unarmored opponent. Fester A black tinted short sword balanced for both thrusting and stabbing. This unassuming blade is arguably more deadly than either of the guns that Max carries. It is made from spring steel a durable light and flexible metal that is capable of taking immense amounts of punishment without breaking under the stress. That is not what makes it special. Max's parents performed a dark ritual upon the blade while utilizing their greatest household summon a Demon Lord. Max is unaware of the Demon's name due to names holding power in this particular demon's domain. The blade gained its slight dark tint after this ritual along with a few interesting sides effects. The blade is now unnaturally sharp at all time and has been equated to a monolayer for being able to cut through things with a hardness greater than steel. However, and this gave the blade its namesake, the blade seems to inflict a curse upon wounding a creature. The creature would find any cut the received from fester would immediately become infected as if left untreated for several days. This effect would only get worse with consecutive cuts as the wound would fester and even rot. The only hint to the blade's evil is an aura of malice that emanates from it when it is unsheathed. Nail A jewel tipped parrying dagger with a tip housing an arrowhead-shaped diamond of low purity. This unusual dagger is made with hardened steel as flexing under pressure would do more harm than good when trying to deflect blows. The narrow head tip is the only unique part of this dagger actually being designed to get stuck in the target. The gen actually detaches from the dagger by pulling on the pommel of the dagger. The idea is you would impale a target, then while pulling away slide your hand over the pommel and pull the dagger out. This would release the gem and cause it to get trapped inside whatever it punctured. This type of wound is difficult for magic to heal, because of the barbed nature of the gem it can't be pushed out without doing more damage to the host. On top of the fact its a diamond meaning it can't be easily broken down. This means an injury that magic could normally save you from is prevented from doing its job The name nail was a sort of poetic reference to the final nail in a coffin because once it's in it isn't coming back out. Tri-Tip Daggers Amazingly no special qualities are attributed to the many small guardless blades. They have rings on the pommel to allow them to be pulled at a moments notice. The smoke and frag grenade. Again nothing special beyond the fact they look identical. Thankfully they have very different weights and feels one being metal and the other plastic. Achilles Armor A breakthrough in technology allowed the consistent creation and arrangement of Graphene into a usable material and out of the realm of theory. Graphene is an incredibly durable material that surpasses even diamond in hardness while actually being still flexible, even elastic, and able to disperse force across its surface. The material also does not burn easily taking temperatures of 6000K to burn, the sun seems appropriate. The material is highly conductive, but the Achilles Armor is made using silk, and thin layers of leather with multiple layers of Graphene all throughout. The silk is non-conductive nature allows the electricity to run through the graphene and into the ground like a Faraday cage protecting against electricity. The entire outfit consists of a long sleeve shirt and pants of just silk and graphene. A pair of gloves with hardened steel plates on the back of the hands and bridges along the knuckles. A pair of boots with hardened steel toes. Finally, the main piece is a large thick duster that is designed with dozens of pockets customized to carry all the tools one could need. The materail is so defensible that the only magic on it is simple repair and maintenance runes. The name Achilles is often referred to when people talk about the weakness of something, but people often forget that before he was shot in the heel Achilles was unstoppable. The dye job of red and black was Max's idea as he liked the stand out colors, but the undershirt is also black so if he needs to he can ditch the red for a more subtle all black attire.
Summon of the day/week Max has a unique relationship with his summons being that he has none. His winning personality doesn't do him any favors when it comes to connecting with otherworldly beings. He shows no lack of abilities when it comes to summoning unusual and powerful beings from beyond, but his harmony with such creatures is disastrous and they tend to not obey his commands. Max has no problem with this surprisingly insisting that it's simply a matter of finding his perfect summon. The world is huge and the other worlds even more so. He won't settle for garbage and is more than willing to search all of creation for his ideal match. He believes the day he finds it he will be unstoppable.

Current Summon Changling Powers and Abilities They are said to have superior strength, but only slightly more than a human. Their agility is also otherworldy able to cling to smooth walls and ceilings with bare hands and feet and while carrying another person. They have sharp teeth and a lamprey-like mouth that allows them to feed on creatures, human or otherwise. They do so by bitting onto them and draining the life and magic from their body. They can appear human and even can impersonate summons if they are humanoid. Their true appearance can be revealed by a mirror but is otherwise flawless. Finally, their final and arguably greatest gift is their near invulnerability to mundane damage sources. They are not perfect immune and can be fought off, but only fire can truly harm and even kill these monsters. "Perfect" Max whispers as he slams his book closed.
