Update Time I've thought about how to handle the hunting quest from a game runner's perspective and decided to propose the general idea here first before moving forward. Hopefully this way, those who expressed interest can voice whether or not they can work with this, and if not perhaps an agreement that works with everyone can be reached. As far as what I'm leaning towards for now, I suppose if I had to give the approach to leading this entire event a name, it might wind up being something like "sequential check-pointing" or something like that. I believe most reading this would have at least experienced something similar in previous RPs. Essentially, the GM or other such showrunner (me in this case) will be in charge of making a post for each and every key development in the story from start to finish. Really basic in nature, but to use this hunting quest as an example, my first post would probably be seeing the caravan gather in the morning. Keep in mind that I will probably be providing the precise time of day (or time bracket) that each checkpoint takes place as a point of reference. So naturally after everyone is gathered for instance, the party will begin the first leg of the journey and so on and so forth until they make it back to the village.
Side Note: I believe it only fair to tell everyone interested that the journey from the village to the festival grounds is set to take nearly a whole day (partly because I intend for medium to large pack animals to be involved with the trek). That means leaving and returning to the village may take a few days in total (in-story).
With that in mind, I intend to move things along with updates to the quest on a weekly (real life) basis. My first thought would be every Monday (exact time of day isn't a concern unless enough of you really want that set as well), but that day can be changed to one better suited to as many as possible. I really hope everyone can follow along with posts of their own week to week, and of course collaborations are welcome. That said, I don't intend to postpone scheduled updates just because one or two players won't be available for a turn. A courteous heads up is always welcome in that regard nevertheless. So hopefully that helps paint a reasonable picture of how this could go. Feel free to let me know who's still interested and if this approach is worth going with. I can't say for how much longer this current day we're on will keep going, but if this plan of mine gets the all clear, I will begin brainstorming and drafting this coming week.
