He carries a simple wooden staff with a blue jewel inbeded into it, although this is mostly a prop, the jewel just a plastic rock, since he can't afford a proper magical artifact.[/color][/indent]

He has a passion in everything magical especially black magic however he's also happy learning anything he can like mythlogies and mundane skills. The mask hides his facial ques but he usually sounds incredibly cheery and laidback pretty much all the time, making random jokes or going into long topics about this or that. The only time's he's particularly serious is when arguing about magic and its uses, especially with other people that share his passion about the magical arts.[/color][/indent]
[sub][color=00a651][b]Background[/b][/color][/sub][indent][color=gray]A talented but trouble making student of the arcane tower of magic, Jack applied for the tower at a young age after finishing his apprenticeship under his adopted father, wandering mage, who sent him to the tower with a letter of recommendation. He spent half his life in the tower, learning about the various schools of magic and blatantly failing his basic ethics classes. Mostly he couldn't understand why the study of forbiden magic would be forbiden. He felt that every magic had a place in the world and that every magic should be studied if only so that they could be countered when the time came. Even doctors studied viruses and diseases to find the best way to counter them so he didn't understand why mages shouldn't have free access to information on demonology and necromancy.

After breaking into his college Library's forbidden section for the nth time to read about dark arts, the administration finally got fed up with Jack and put him into house arrest as they thought of a punishment for him. It was decided that Jack was to be banished into the world for a while and forced to write his thesis on the dark lord's army as well as anti-dark army measurements, joining the war directly to better study the dark army. More than a few people considered this an extended vacation, Jack included who saw this opportunity as a chance to learn directly about the dark army's exciting rituals and creatures. He joined the order with a letter of introduction written up by the college administration which introduced him to the order as a student in the arcane arts specializing in frontline support magic and magical lore.[/color][/indent]

Magic In general: In the sense that he can actually use it and is all around proficient enough to use the basics of all schools as well as give basic information in most things arcane. The tradeoff is that he can only use incredibly basic beginner spells spontaneously and the heavy toll even the most basic of spells can take on his body when spells are cast spontaneously.

Magical Rituals: The place Jack shines in the most. He's an expert at long cast, high powered spells both in the areas of creating and disabling prepared magical spells. This specific talent is what was highlighted in his letter of introduction, which not incorrectly described him as a support mage and arcane expert. Defusing and countering prepared magical traps being his most useful skill in the field while being able to give a basic idea of magical rituals happening in real time or ones used long ago.

Necromancy: The magical school that Jack focused heavily on before being kicked out of the college library. He has vast information on even the most obscure undead, complex high-level rituals as well as how to best counter them both. Keeps the practical aspect of his skills a secret and is wary of using the necromancy's high-level spells or rituals both because of the school's dark nature and the dangers of literally summoning evil spirits and shoving them corpses.[/color]

His pursuit of dark magic, partially due to his love of magic but also in an effort to best learn the ways to beat dark magic. Tea... Especially anything minty or with black pearls, will do pretty much anything if you add in any lemon based pastry like lemon squares or lemon tarts.[/color][/indent]
