Magical abilities: Can shape shift taking the form of other beings or creatures. It can also possess weaker creatures for a moment. It can burn what touches its surface and throw or manipulate fire. Usual Temperaments: It is usually passive except when hungry and can be enraged to the point of not stopping its pursuit until the one who angered it is dead. Locations Found: Fotia, North and North East of the capital and the towns. In the desert. Weaknesses: Can be harmed by fire reducing attacks such as water or ice. [/hider] • [hider=Armis Viventum] Appearance: An Armis looks like an animate suit of dragonplate armor, but on closer inspection, it is evident that it is actually a form of chitin. Each Armis starts it's life cycle as a single piece of finger armor, taking around two weeks to grow into a gauntlet, then about several months to reach the size of an arm. From there, it takes an Armis about five years to develop a torso, and then 2 years to complete the maturation process. Every ten years after reaching maturity the Armis' fingers fall off, beginning the cycle again. On the other hand, an Armis that bonds to a host will mature within two years after bonding. Each individual Armis has it's own subtle uniqueness, no two the same. However, beyond that, it's looks are influenced heavily by either it's host, or the souls it has devoured, or a combination of the two. Species name: Armis Viventum Food source: In it's infancy, an Armis only survives off of ambient magics and microscopic organisms. However, once it grows to be the size of a torso, it begins feeding off residual soul essence, and once full grown, it hunts for prey, killing it with it's strength, and devouring it's prey's soul. However, an Armis that has bonded to a host will survive strictly on it's host's magic throughout it's entire life cycle, but can still devour souls if it's host wills it so. In the event an Armis cannot feed on souls, or magic energy, it will enter a state of suspended animation, ceasing it's growth, as well as halting all biological functions, until it once again is able to feed. Size: Size and shape vary according to what souls they have most commonly been exposed to, but Armai always take the shape of a set of armor made to be worn by a descendant. Natural abilities: All Armai that bond to a descendant gift their host with regeneration, as well as new, and increased abilities all around. Even with out a host, Armai have incredible regenerative capabilities, and their chitin is incredibly durable. Other abilities and traits are determined by the host they have bonded to, or by the souls they have devoured. Additionally, the host of an Armis can manipulate their Armis' shape and form with enough practice and concentration. Magical abilities: All magical abilities and traits (other than devouring souls) are completely dependent on the host they have bonded to, or by the souls they have devoured. Usual Temperaments: Armai that have not developed a torso yet tend to be very docile and curious. However, Armai that have reached full maturity are reasonably intelligent, and have been even seen using spells and weaponry. Unfortunately this new intelligence is accompanied by a massive spike in aggression; any mature Armis that did not bond to a host only seeks to grow it's power. How? By devouring souls. Locations Found: Armai are found in the area around the converging borders of Vrondi, Gaia, and Fotia. Weakness: Armai that do not have a host hold a core in the center of their torso, that, if broken, kills the Armis. Magical abilities: Can manipulate air to allow it greater flight and for creating whirlwinds. Usual Temperaments: Gryphons are carnivorous hunters, with hunting patterns more of raptor than of lion. They're seldom docile creatures, and quite difficult for descendants to tame. Locations Found: Gaian, Vrondi and Tearian mountains. He is very charismatic and uses it to trick his foes if he fears he cant fight them off with his magic. He can scratch pretty deep into any foe with his razor sharp claws. Magical abilities: He has the ability to go invisible and reappear in other locations. He can't do it very far (so its not that op as in Alice in Wonderland). He can also shoot magic spells that do light damage that he is still learning how to perfect. He is also able to levitate that takes very little magical energy to do after years of practice. Usual Temperaments: He is friendly and very charismatic. He sometimes even uses it to trick people into liking him or even avoid fighting him. Deep down he actually is very twisted when the time calls for it. He is always planning on how he can survive alone and not with other people but he uses them to his advantage, in a sense, while he can. Locations Found: Mainly in Gaia for most of his life in the cities of Pearl and Onyx. Weaknesses: His weakness is his size. Most monsters are always larger than him. Even though he can float he still has doubt in his ability to fight them and he suffers for it when its a huge size difference. Usually calm, cold, quiet or simply absent minded. They are always on a search for learning spells despite their limited capacity. Locations Found: South East of Tearia on their islands. In the Magoi Head Quarters. Deep underwater caverns in Tearia's undersea capital. Weaknesses: It is not very strong physically. It has a core in its chests center that if destroyed can kill it until it is replaced. If disturbed however it will attack with a venomous bite. Locations Found: West of Vrondi within Neros territory. Far south of Nero's capital and within a few caverns south west of twilight town. Weaknesses: Like many Dragons its heart is its weakness. Its heart rests on its underbelly and beats with a red glow. Its wings can be easily burned. It has a low tolerance for cold. The Scarecrow absorbs water by burying the stick it hops around on into the ground, remaining still for hours in order to store up every. Size: 4 to 7 feet tall, but always lighter than an average human of that size. Natural abilities: The Scarecrow's main survival skill is its ability to remain still and appear to be just a normal scarecrow. However, it it believed itself to be in danger it has the ability to spin at extreme speeds while hopping after the aggressor as a last resort. Magical abilities: The scarecrow can give off a passive aura that causes anxiety in those around it. If this does not work to ward off interlopers it can also release a concentrated wave of fear in a cone in front of it. Usual Temperaments: Scarecrows are a protective species, usually staking out an territory and then defending it from all intruders. They prefer to set down stakes abandoned or remote human settlements, but have been known to appear in populated areas and drive away the properties owners using their anxiety aura. They do not like to move when being observed, and will only do so to preserve their own lives. Natural abilities: The Smug Runner and both a lightning fast runner and digger, able to burrow through the earth as though it were swimming through the water thanks to its tusks and eight rapidly working claws. Its teeth are amount the hardest of the rodent family, able to take a chunk out of most any predator. It is blind, but it compensates for this with excellent hearing, smell, and the ability to feel vibrations in the earth. Magical abilities: None. Usual Temperaments: Smug Runners are communal creatures and tend to travel in family groups of 6 to 9 individuals headed by a single matriarch. A supremely confident creature, they get their colloquial name from how close they are willing to let an enemy get before darting off or diving under the ground in the blink of an eye, letting out a distinct, bass, "huhuhuhuhuh" sound that can be easily mistaken for laughter. It actuality it is a warning cry to the rest of its family, and the Smug Runner will turn its impressive jaws on you in their defence. Natural abilities: Gives off a natural chill, and can move as fast as a man by sliding along the ground while leaving a trail of water. Doesn't seem to have any vital organs. While easily smashed apart, being made entirely of packed snow, if the snow is not melted it can easily reform itself. If snow is taken from the main body and kept separate without melting for a day and a night it will become another snowman. Magical abilities: Ice magic, able to give off freezing winds and blow streams of snow from its mouth. Larger snowmen are able to create projectiles of ice they fire from their bodied, or an icy shell to help defend against attacks. As the snowman uses these attacks, it will become smaller. Usual Temperaments: Indubitable Snowmen, who offer the nutritional value of snow and thus have no natural predators, are curious and lively creatures. It is not uncommon for humans to be surrounded and gawked at by these silent and keen eyed monsters. They will bounce around happily, attempting to entice the humans to play and romp merrily with them. This had led to people bring unintentionally led deep into the snowy wilderness during these games, and in places where they but up against human settlements children are told to never follow snowmen. Natural abilities: The Quill Spitter is covered on its face, arms, and back by large quills, as well as smaller quills mixed in with the purple hair covering its body. These quills are easily pulled out, but grow back in an afternoon. The quill Spitter gets its name from the quills around it's mouth area, which it can fire with remarkable accuracy. It's long arms muscular frame, along with it's claws, allow it to scale trees and tall rock peaks along with making it a formidable threat in melee. Magical abilities: None Usual Temperaments: A cautious opportunist, The Quill Spitter prefers to attack from long rage in order to minimize risk to itself. It will usually wait for prey in ambush from some high or hidden place, trying to kill with a single crippling shot to the neck or, for the older and more experienced Spitters, heart. Inexperienced or clumsy Spitters tent to pepper their target with quills and stalk their prey while it dies from blood loss, though this leaves them without a way to fight back against another Spitter should it stumble upon the kill. You see, their actual mouths are very small so although they can take game far bigger than themselves they eat very slowly meaning they must jealously guard their kill from other predators. It's vertical leap is unparalleled amount creatures of its size, and it is able to scale trees easily by leaping from branch to branch. Seemingly possessing a near human intelligence, it is able to comprehend complex commands and when brought into melee combat defends itself with martial arts. Its tendrils each have many spines that can retract into itself, each highly effective nerve poison that stuns its prey as well as clots its blood. it will use these spines to either capture its prey in its grasp, immobilize it for later, rend flesh from its opponent, or for extra grip with its tendrils. It has enough power in its tendrils to suffocate its prey or break it's bones. They tend to burrow and hide in soft soils and sand, or swim in shallow waters during most the day, though they can sometimes use this tactic to surprise prey, erupting from the ground or jumping out from shallow water to latch on to their next meal. During the night, they are most active in hunting for food. They will often stalk their prey for periods of time, waiting for good moments to strike, or can even set up its own ambush. Magical abilities: The jewels on the creatures body absurd moon energy and magical power, rendering magical attack almost completely useless. While it uses the energy it gathers for locomotion it can also deploy this energy in various ways. It can crate a barrier around its body, fire moon energy lasers from the natural cannons it has for hands, or unleash an omnidirectional laser barrage from the orbs located on its body. Usual Temperaments: The Moon Tyrant is a fearsome creature, typically leaving only a mass of destruction in its travels through any populated area. Luckily a tyrant under normal circumstances can only be truly active on the night of a full moon, a time it will spend patrolling its territory and destroying anything that has entered it. While it can move on other nights when the moon is shining, its movements are sluggish and weary. The less moonlight there is, the less the tyrant can act. Moon Tyrant's will always fight another creature it comes across, including other Moon Tyrants. These battle are terrifying to behold as the Tyrants' unable to damage one another with moon ray barrages as is typical, instead wade it to try and tear one on ether to pieces. These battles have the effect of scattering the ground with their precious jewels, and the battlegrounds are typically beset by prospectors on the next new moon looking to get rich off the bounty. This may be the reason the Moon Tyrant population has dropped off so sharply in the last few decades, as it is thought by some scholars that the lost jewels eventually germinate into more Moon Tyrants when left as they are.
