Once upon a time there was a man named Helios and a woman named Akarin, both were of different races and empires; beast and human. While these two empires were not bitter enemies they were also not at peace, small skirmishes often breaking out over territory. Akarin, needing to feed her two younger siblings took the measly crops she grew and crossed into enemy territory. At first she was treated terribly but showed no signs of retaliation nor hatred for those that insulted her. A man, Helios, noticed how hard Akarin was working and felt bad for the way his people acted, so with a heart filled with kindness he began to buy Akarin's wares, taking the time to even speak with her.

Weeks passed and it was now normal to see Akarin at her broken down stall with Helios right there. Both empires watched and realized that there was really no difference between then aside from looks and slowly the two empires began to learn more about each other. To no one's surprise Helios and Akarin fell in love and had children,  the two empires were beginning to get along and build up their friendship. Years passed and soon two empires became one and generations of peace rested over the land, all spurned by one mans kindness and a woman's determination. 

However the greed within man is strong, the king of the humans discovered that their beastkin friends held a power greater than any before and wanted it for himself. In the dead of night the king took 6 of his best men and slaughtered a beastkin for it's heart - Akarin's youngest sibling. The peace that had been shattered with one man's greed and in a fit of revenge the beastkin killed many, retreating back to where they had come from. Akarin, broken and betrayed, left her love to follow her people. Her last remaining sibling swore revenge on the humans who had wronged them, vowing to eradicate and destroy everything the humans loved.

The king and his men, not wanting to seem like the bad guys, covered up the truth and spun a story of how the beastkin betrayed them first. Then the king disappeared, leaving the throne empty. The 3 out of 6 men followed their king while the other 3 created the 3 ruling houses, creating what we now call kina City.

Azure is the continent in which our story takes place, it is a place filled with many different creatures - each living in vastly different areas. At it's very center lies a massive tree, Kokkino Dentro or The Celestial Tree. This tree gives life to all of azure, it's roots spreading and providing substance to the land. The two largest empires within Azure are Ghaba Medina and Kina - these two have been at war with each other for generations and there seems to be no end to their conflict in sight.

Kokkina Dentro is the center of Azure. The massive tree spreads it roots through the entire continent giving it life and substance. It is rumored that at the very top of the tree lies the celestial dragons that are chronicled to have created Azure, two sisters who work together in order to create a place for all to live. However many don't realize that within the tree are winding paths and deadly creatures that stop any from attempting to climb up. Though legend has it that if one manages to reach the very top and encounter one of the dragons than they will receive any wish of their choosing, thus far no one has come forward to claim such a thing is true.

The Erimos desert lies before Kuro Deimos, it is the only way to reach the hot and humid volcanic climate. The land is barren and covered in sands and large stone monuments, only those who know the land are able to survive here. Those that live within Erimos know that there are vast tunnels beneath the sand that most of the desert tribes use to travel, avoiding the scorching sun. They also know that the Cactini are an easier source of water, oasis' are a rare find.

Kuro Deimos is the farthest west one could travel and is home to three active volcanoes. Many people and creatures who prefer hot and harsh climate make this dangerous land their home, many adventures even dare to venture here in hopes to bath in the hot mud that forms at the base of the volcanoes. Those who are old enough to remember know that Kuro Deimos used to be the home of the Celestial dragons, filled with tree's and rushing rivers. Though an fight between the two dragons quickly killed the land and turned it into what it is today.

Ghaba Medina is the second largest empire with Azure, it is located within the vast forest of Ke'ano. Many of the creatures and people who reside her live within hallowed out tree's or have built homes within the branches, living off the land and hunting for their food. Many magic-based creatures also derive from Ghaba Medina, Kokkina Dentro's roots are the largest here and provide an odd source of magic to the surrounding area. Many people who are simply looking for a peaceful existence also reside here. This is also the home of the Beastkin within Kina lore.

Kokkina City, or Kina city for short, is the largest and most advanced city within Azure. It is the only spot where people can buy high-tech items and magical wares aside from Ghaba Medina, it is separate into the following three districts that is ruled by one of three ruling families; The Light District where the rich and powerful live. The Hope district where the middle class live, it is also where you would find most merchants and inns/taverns. The Dark district is where most crime, underground trade and prostitution reside, it's not safe to travel in the streets here after dark. As the largest empire within Azure Kina city has taken it upon themselves to govern many areas within Azure.

Our story will tell the tale of adventurers who live within Azure, the lives they lead and how they will become instrumental in the war between Ghaba Medina and Kina City. Some may side with the seemingly innocent and kind-hearted citizens and leaders of Kina City. Other's may see the unfairness and desperation with those of Ghaba Medina and side with them. Either way a wondrous and compelling tale will be told.

[color=FAFAD2][b]2.[/b][/color] I'm looking for posts that are better quality than they are novels - though I would say at least 2-3 paragraphs. Decent grammar is also a must, I don't want posts that are just a bunch of run-on sentences. Be descriptive, this is a high-fantasy world so you should have plenty of things to talk about!
[color=FAFAD2][b]3.[/b][/color] People can create up to two characters, however please try to balance out genders and what sides you take with each character.
[color=FAFAD2][b]4.[/b][/color] This roleplay is heavily influenced by MMO's; Final Fantasy, World of Warcraft, Zelda and similar things. So when doing things keep those in mind to help you!
[color=FAFAD2][b]5.[/b][/color] I would like pictures to be animated. I don't want anything that's super bad quality, nor do I want anything that incredibly emo/scene. I was tasteful pictures. If you struggle with finding something let me know, I always keep a stash. Also remember...this is a fantasy setting, you don't HAVE to play a human, though I won't stop you from doing so either.

Humans are the most abundant race within Azure and spread across the entire continent. Their capital is Kina City. Most humans take to living peaceful and plain lives, raising livestock or working in shops. There are three types of elves within Azure; Light Elves, Wood Elves and Shadow Elves.
Light Elves are considered the most religious out of the three and are intensely devoted to the Celestial Dragon gods. The make their home closest to the tree within the forests near Ghaba Medina and rarely allow outsiders within their capital. They are characterized by their pale skin, pale hair and pale colored eyes.
Shadow Elves are the most hostile out of the three and make their home closer to the edge of Azure and are often hired by rich folk for assassination. They are rarely seen as they are able to hide within the shadows. They are characterized by their darker skin, darker hair and almost glowing eyes.
Wood Elves are much more friendly than their other two kin and make their home closer to Mizu port though stay within the forests. They are not afraid to let outsiders within their capital and often will help adventurers with whatever they need, even offering small quests for them to take part in. They are characterized by their neutral appearance.

Drakari are the descendants of the Celestial Dragons, however severely polluted is their blood. They make their home at the very base of Kokkina Dentro but aren't afraid to venture out into the world. They seem almost tribal to many people and many worship or praise them. Many Drakari differ in appearance. Some have more scale, others may or may not have wings or horns. The one feature that does run between them all are the lizard-like tails and the mark on their forehead.

Fae is a general term for a group of creatures; Fearies, Mermaid/Siren, Nymphs, Banshee, Kitsune and so on. It is hard to say where many of these creatures make their home as most of them are solitary by nature and are scattered around Azure. The only exception to this would be Mermaids and Siren who live in colonies in the sea surrounding Azure.

Beastkin come in a variety of sizes and looks, though essentially they are humans who can take animal form. They are sentient and can speak just like any other human can, however because of their ability to transform they are treated much different. They live within Ghaba Medina and are at war with Kina City and the humans, many Beastkin won't even listen to a human speak when coming across one and go straight to killing them, thus giving them the bad reputation they now have.

Harpies are creatures that are part man and part bird, however because they are part human they do not fall within the Beastkin Category. These creatures are often hostile and deceitful, luring others into traps in order to steal whatever they might have of value. Harpies make their home within Erimos desert, living within dark caves that lead to underground tunnels. The look of a harpy can vary among them and all of them are women, the breed by kidnapping men, killing them when they are done.

Angaria are interesting creatures, they are plant-based. They are not considered Fae however because they are organic and do not need magic in order to defend themselves. It is very rare to come across an Angaria as they usually hide within dark parts of the forest and do not take well to strangers. They are also solitary creatures though some to take to living in small groups for better protection. An Angaria can differ in appearance depending on the plant they are living off of be it flower, tree or weed.

Naga are creatures who are part human and part snake, just like the Harpies these are not considered Beastkin as they are part human. Naga are very proud and royal creatures who take a lot of pride in war, often causing conflict with others just so they can try and prove themselves. Naga live on the outskirts of Mizu port and have blocked off a good portion of the beaches to make their home. While not inherently hostile they don't hesitate to try and start a fight, though if you win against a Naga you will gain all of their respect as a warrior.
