She loves to run, exercise, and work out while also enjoying watching anime, reading manga, and playing video games. She comes across as extremely energetic when met in person. She acts and sounds overly enthusiastic about everything, and she usually means to be too. Although she’s not shy about showing off her athletic interests, she does express her geeky interests much more subtly. She usually won’t intentionally reveal her love for all things nerdy unless someone makes it clear they like that stuff too. Emiko is typically a non-judgemental person, having come from a place of being judged for her habits herself. This is usually limited to odd habits rather than poor behaviour, as Emiko won’t tolerate someone being a jerk to her for too long. Otherwise, she’s prepared to talk people’s ears off about their hobbies, even if she doesn’t know a thing about them.
HISTORY
Once upon a time, there was a Sargent in the People’s Liberation Army of China called Jun-Tao Zhao. Jun-Tao was unfortunate enough to have a quirk, and although he tried to keep it a secret, he was eventually discovered. He ended up going into a sort of voluntary exile in Japan, hoping he could keep his identity and quirk a secret in a foreign country. There, he fell in love with a woman called Emiya Sakuma, and the two of them married. While Emiya was quirkless, she did not judge Jun-Tao for who he was, and endeavoured to help maintain his secret. Their secret only got more complicated when it became apparent their daughter, Emiko, also possessed a quirk. Now Emiya was scared that she would be discovered at a tender age and wanted to keep her as safe as possible. In doing so, she kept her shut up in her room as much as possible and limited her time outside. Emiko began to gain weight and develop unhealthy obsessions with anime, manga, and video games during her seclusion. Jun-Tao was on board at first, but watching as his daughter became an unhealthy recluse, he insisted that he be allowed to rectify the situation. She was even getting bullied at school due to how she came across. Emiya resisted initially, but eventually relented, provided she still remains inside as much as possible. Jun-Tao then set to work whipping his daughter back into shape. He first tried the direct approach and brought out the old drill instructor in him, basically ordering his little girl to do some exercise and eat healthy. That didn’t work at all. Emiko had gotten far too used to her life style and tended to pout and throw tantrums when pushed. Emiya told her husband the stick approach wouldn’t work so well on a small child, and suggested he offer her something to secure her co-operation. As much as it went against his principles, Jun-Tao agreed. The only question was what he could offer her. He then made another decision that went against his principles and said: “If you agree to exercise with me, then I’ll watch your damn cartoons with you.” Emiko was over the moon to have her daddy watch anime with her. Every time they sat down for a viewing, Jun-Tao would insist they do their exercise routine. Soon enough, Emiko was burning weight fast and even gaining muscle, while Jun-Tao was gaining a grudging respect for some of the titles Emiko insisted on showing her. As years went by, Emiko also gained an appreciation for physical exercise, and even became more popular at school as a result. Life was better for everyone, more or less. Jun-Tao was eventually hired by UA to act as a phys-ed teacher, primarily for its second year students. As a consequence, both he and Emiya thought it would be a good idea to enrol Emiko in the hero programme there. Emiko also had no objections. Between her zest for everything physical and her generally pleasant disposition, the idea of being some big damn hero was plentifully appealing to her. There was of course the added benefit of being able to dispense with the life of keeping her quirk a secret.
CONCUSSIVE FORCE
Short Quirk explanation: This quirk involves creating blasts of kinetic energy by making movements like kicking and punching. The blasts can travel some distance and can be performed in quick succession.
