Just gonna place this here - though, I'm not finished. Let me know if there's something you'd change. As a blossoming cinematographer, her craft is a window through which she views the world. Her life is about angles, ambient lighting and the right things said at the right time. A series of stills viewed in quick succession, scene by scene, she values the aesthetic and sentiment within every moment. Clover can be silent as a wallflower or bold as a bouquet. She has the remarkable ability to fade unnoticed into the peripheries. A place where she can record situations unfold candidly. She can do this because she doesn’t assert herself or seek attention. In her script, her lines are charismatic but her actions are aloof. Clover’s name is a symbol of love. She thinks often about the cherry tree her parents carved their initials into when they were young, her namesake, “C♥R”. She wonders if it still stands, if the rings on its’ tree trunk grow wider in sync with the rings around her parents’ eyes. This is the cornerstone of Clover’s personality, a concept her brain revisits regularly to make decisions. B A C K S T O R Y Clover is suited to the tranquility of living outside Tokyo. Amongst wet rice fields where mosquitos feed off the ancestral blood of farmers that have owned their patches for generations. Amongst crumbling shrines held together by moss where deer and their companions convene to watch-over the dutiful caretaker. Amongst the glow of the only Seven-Eleven, like a human aquarium where youths gather in the parking lot and plan their escape to Tokyo or Osaka. The suburbs are beautiful, it’s true - but neon flowers bloom in the city, up the walls and reflected in puddles. Their petals read, “Half-Off!” They want Clover to buy things - and she wants to buy them. Clover is also suited to the hedonism of living within Tokyo. Amongst millions of individuals compartmentalised into box apartments where the walls are so thin you can hear them breathe. Amongst floods of tourists who can be out manoeuvred on the subway where every train is precisely on time. Amongst secret parties in derelict office blocks where young foreigners mix with rebellious Japanese youth. Clover is from a seaside town in the South of England famous for its vast variety of fruit bearing trees. Everyday the waves try fruitlessly to wake the sleeping town. Plump pears drop without a care onto comfy beds of grass to be picked up by curious townsfolk. Behind cobble stone dykes, dogs sunbathe in their gardens and don’t even stir when the mailman arrives. It’s a wholesome place to call your hometown. - Move to Japan - Heritage - Japanese Movies. - Lives alone above a flower shop - Dinner with flower family.
