"Serene"
Eyes narrowed as the inky blackness became visible, hairs once more standing on end. She didn't like this. But before any of the others could move, she did, almost bounding forward, into the shadows. The fresh blood was noticeable, and bothered her. She moved almost akin to a Japanese horror girl, low to the ground, mindful of each step, ignoring if anyone decided to check her out from behind. Although concrete was a concept that most considered at least to be Roman age in origin, she seemed careful enough. Probably enough escape attempts in the time she'd been around, mixed with free time, had given her proper experience. Either way, she had also accepted the fire's presence, grateful to not have to use her own powers. Fingers gripped the edge of each stair like claws, moving down "layer" by "layer" like an animal on all fours, until she reached the bottom, noticing a faint dust trail, but nothing yet as she moved away from the foot. Only to freeze as her eyes finished adjusting. Even as a dragon with senses stronger than the average person, she needed time. "Jörð faðir, hvað er þetta?" Translation: Earthfather, what is this? Her expression darkened, as she rose up onto her legs, but rested the palm of one hand against the ground, studying it all. The ancientness of it all bothered her, though it wasn't familiar. Her breath hissed out, as she made room for the others to come down. Hopefully Wendigo didn't break anything on the way down. She scanned the space, mindful of the carvings, clearly on edge, and when the idol like object came into view properly, she moved back. "Serene" snarled softly, teeth being bared. She didn't know what she was looking at, but the wrongness of it was clear. She scanned more, seeing the blood track, following the dust trail to the cabinet that was turned away. She looked over to Aria whenever the wolf-human hybrid came down, and gestured towards the moved furniture, clearly interested in it. Language barriers be damned, gestures worked. Serene glanced back to the Wendigo, wondering how the other was fairing, given all the blood. Despite how aggressive she could be...understanding at least. But just as quickly, she returned her attention to the idol, growling a bit more, refusing to move her gaze away, as if expecting it to suddenly move.
