One tends to lose track of time when living in cruel sands of the Erimos Desert. Upon getting to know him a bit better and earning his trust, he will become closer to said person and wont be as distant. Those who know him say that he is surprisingly amicable and friendly. Often sharing stories of his own life and hearing others' tales. He is also extremely loyal to those he considers his companions and earned his trust, he will never betray those who trust him unless he has a very good reason. That said, his trust is rather difficult to attain and if someone betrays him, forgiveness is not easily granted. Things change radically when in combat though. Much like most Jackal beastkind, who are known to be extremely ruthless hunters and ferocious fighters, Nefersetekh is no different. Becoming much more 'feral' than his normally calm demeanor, expect no mercy and no escape if you are his enemy. Background
The Seshem are a Beastkin sub race which appeared when a group of Beastkins, which were mostly canines (such as jackals, coyotes & etc), permanently moved to the desert a long time ago isolating themselves from Ghaba Medina due to diverging beliefs, ideals and religion. After many years breeding only with other canine beastkins, the animal gene somehow got stronger on them. While they lost the ability to take on an 'animal' form, their human form in the other hand, became much more animal than other Beastkins. With their bodies covered in a thin layer of fur and canine heads, the Seshem's general appearance closely resembles a human-canine hybrid. Their fur color ranges from sand to full black, albeit a few pure white ones exists, as albinos. There are still slight differences between them, mostly fur coloration, snout and their ears, some which resemble jackals, other coyotes or even a hybrid between them. Due to their animal features, they have incredibly acute senses of hearing and smell, which can be used against them by those who know their race well enough. Having a long story with the desert people and nomads, despite their fierce appearance and being famous for being ferocious fighters, due to them following old traditions and laws, they're generally peaceful to those who only seek passage through the desert. Merchants and wanderers often are relieved when they see a Seshem during their travels, for their presence means they will be safe from bandits and raiders. Similarly, those whom, according to their beliefs, are upsetting the balance by doing evil deeds or even have suspicious cargos and products are offered no mercy. Known to be ruthless and tireless hunters, trackers and fighters, running away from them is almost impossible and fighting back is rarely a good option unless one has a very good plan.
Born and raised in the hot, harsh sands of the Erimos Desert, Nefersetekh was taught not only how to fight and hunt, but also the ideals and beliefs of the old religions, more specifically, how the world needed to always be in balance to work and that it was their duty to whenever possible, mantain said balance. As it was expected of a Seshem due to it's instincts and acute senses, Nefersetekh quickly learned how to hunt and fight the way the Seshem always did. Unlike most though, Nefersetekh quickly learned everything his elders had to teach and eventually got better than the very ones that taught him. Be it fighting, hunting or even regarding studies and books, Nefersetekh was unexpectedly proficient. Easily reading complicated books regarding the Seshem's phylosophy, religion and origins which were passed down from his elders. As Nefersetekh grew older, he started to hear more about the war and the situation outside the Erimos Desert from merchants, wanderers, bandits and raiders he or other Seshem met when wandering themselves by the desert. Bit by bit, Nefersetekh realized that Azure was threading a dangerous path. War already raged between the Humans and the Beastkins. Slaughters and indiscriminate killings from both sides, Beastkins' thirst for revenge and the Human's predatory greed threated to plunge the entire Azure Continent into chaos. It was just a matter of time until other races, his included, got dragged to the conflict. That said, before picking a side, they as a race needed to broaden their horizons. It was long since his race went on their self-imposed exile, going to the harsh deserts. After that long, the world outside the Erimos Desert had changed. Politics, power struggles & etc. If Nefersetekh wanted to better understand that conflict, how the war came to be, he had to leave the desert. With that mindset, Nefersetekh left the desert in a journey to seek for knowledge and to learn more about the ongoing war. Appearance With most of his body covered in completely black fur, long ears and a long snout, Nefersetekh is very hard to ignore. Be it for his unique and exotic appearance, his animal traits or his imposing size and musculature standing around 1,95 meters tall, being discrete isn't exactly an option to him. Nefersetekh is mostly always found wearing traditional Seshem 'armor' which consists in a mix between the traditional light garbs used by the desert wanderers and a partial armor made with a flexible but resilient yellow metal. In order to nor restrain one's movements, it only partially cover his body, leaving most of the abdomen uncovered and covering his legs only with a light silk skirt.
Allegiance Much like the other Seshem who live in the Erimos Desert, Nefersetekh believes in 'balance' above everything else. Peace and Violence are only two sides of the same coin, thus, both are necessary for the world to be in balance. But the humans' endless greed and violence is clearly starting to upset it. That said, while Nefersetekh normally wont take sides, he sees the humans as one of the main causes of this war and believes the responsibles must be punished. Abilities

Seshem Anatomy: Nefersetekh is a Seshem. While not being able to transform into an animal like other Beastkins, his 'human' form has many animal traits. Thanks to that, he has not only acute senses of hearing and smell, but also has a powerful musculature, claws, sharp teeth and digitigrade legs, which further improves his physical capabilities. Thanks to his body being adapted to the harsh climate of the Erimos Desert, Their stamina allows them to keep running at full speed for some time before they need to rest.
Relentless Hunter: Being a master in the use of the Khopesh, coupled with the Seshem's unique combat style which uses their entire bodies, claws, teeth & etc. as weapons allow him to fight with a ruthless and unpredictable fighting style, striking on strange angles thanks to the Khopesh's curvature, using it's claws and fangs as weapons. Due to it's characteristically low stance and low center of gravity, the user can as easily strike an opponent's throat as he can slice it's Achilles' tendons.
Harbinger of the Sands: Although it's still not as strong as some other Seshem Elders, who were able to call forth full raging sandstorms, Nefersetekh can call forth a small localized sandstorm. When fighting on a desert or inside a sandstorm (conjured or not), Nefersetekh's physical abilities are boosted.
Strengths Due to his racial traits and training, Nefersetekh is a fearsome opponent in close range, rarely giving his opponents any room to breathe. His acute sense of hearing and smell, coupled with his musculature and his sharp reflexes make him an incredibly good tracker and hunter. He also has a deep knowledge regarding the Erimos Desert and knows how to survive in harsh environments. Weaknesses Strong smells and sharp sounds can affect Nefersetekh due to his sharp senses. Depending on how loud is the noise, he can even be rendered unconscious. If the smell is too strong not only it will completely block his sense of smell, but it will confound his as well. Nefersetekh has a limited knowledge regarding culture of other races and is not familiar with magic other than the one some Seshem use to call forth sandstorms and the only defense he has against it is trying to avoid thrown spells. Theme Song Trivia Nefersetekh comes from Ancient Egyptian. 'Nefer', meaning beautiful or merciful when linked with a deity's name and 'Setekh' (Set or Seth) the god of chaos, the desert, storms, disorder and violence. Also called 'The Usurper' for having killed Osiris. Seshem means 'Guide' in ancient Egyptian For those who don't know, this is a Khopesh:
