"Patience if a virtue...." he muttered slightly watching the scene. Panama chuckled. "Not right now it isn't," he laughed. Atticus shrugged and walked back to the front of the room and started straightening up things. They would need to roll out the meal cart once the general was done doing his thing. Panama took point back by the door and watched the room. The Major just stood there, watching Tatiana. Doc just rubbed his face and glanced towards Maddoc and sighed before flipping through the paper that Victor had handed him. "Who knows French?" he asked. "Auntie," Major said. "Oh riiight! Thanks," he said before motioning for Maddoc, they were done there and were ready to head out as the others were taking their seats. Looking back around his face squished up a bit. "Call me if anyone kills someone," he said before patting Panama on the shoulder and heading out of the door with Maddoc. The door swinging closed behind him. "Glad we're not on nightshift," Panama quipped and Major gave a slight nod. Someone else would take over for them overnight so they could get some sleep as well. It had been a long day and her and the others still had to file reports. Paperwork survived the apocalypse. There was the slightest of taps at the door to the conference room. Both Panama and Major's head turning slightly and nodding at each other. Panama stepped to the side as Major reached over and opened the door. The gentle sound of a cane clicking against the floor echoed as an older gentleman walked into the room. He was dressed in white cotton slacks and shirt with tan loafers on his feet. He couldn't have been more than five foot nine inches in height and had to be the eldest that had been in to see the group as of yet. He had a gentle look on his face as he walked in, unlike most that had come through the door, and didn't seem to carry himself like a military person. "Hello," he would say, in a faded accent from somewhere in the British Isles, with a nod from time to time to those he passed as he walked to the front of the room and sought out a chair to sit down in. His eyes were bright though, like crystal blue water, and they sparkled slightly with his smile. Those eyes were so familiar to anyone that had met a Martin in the past. Yet, only one person from their quarantined group in the room had seen them like this, happy. "Good evening," he added as he sat down and rested his cane against the table next to him. "Well, yes, before we get started I suppose I should introduce myself." He spoke slowly and with purpose. A voice like a grandfather about to tell a bedtime story. "Well I'm Aeron, Mr. Martin to most, and well what you have probably heard referred to as The General." He shrugged a bit as he clapped his hands together in his lap softly. "I, well I am in charge of the camp. I wouldn't dare say run because that is left to the younger folk but yes, I am well 'the main man' as Panama over there calls me," he said pointing at Panama with a chuckle. "My you all do look as you have had a long time of it but I hope you at least do feel a little better now that you have been fed and showered," he said as he leaned back in his chair and draped an arm over the back of it. "These walls, I know, not the most welcoming of ways but they serve a purpose. We didn't used to use them, at least not for this. First weeks after the outbreak, this was the original home to some of us," he said in memory induced voice. "Myself, my sons, Elizabeth over there," he said pointing towards Major. "And some others." Rubbing his chin slightly. "Dark times. Dark times indeed were those first weeks. Not knowing what was happening. Not knowing what would happen." Sighing and shaking his head he looked over the group slowly. "I'm sure you all have similar memories. Isn't that how we are though? As humans I mean. We forget so much over the years but then, there are specific times, moments, that are so clearly etched in our mind that if you were asked you could tell the very moment, the sounds around you, the smells, down to the last detail." Crossing an ankle over his knee he looked towards different people. "The moment you were called to war," he said looking at Alexander. "The day a child was born," he added looking over at Tatiana. "Or when you fell in love," he finished looking at Ash. The man seemed to go off into thought, perhaps remembering a time that stuck out to him. "Or the day you saw what it meant to be truly dedicated to something beyond all else." Rubbing his chin, his eyes blinked. They were the same shade as his son's. As others... Family eyes that each generation had had before him and since but there would be no more passed this moment. Taking a breath he watched his youngest son at his post. He looked weary, far older than he should have even for what most would refer to as a senior citizen. Granted he was no spring chicken himself. He was far passed his prime. He hadn't been a young man for half a century. Yet, there were somethings that aged men faster than anything else ever could and it was obvious his youngest had dealt with his fair share of burdens that should never be placed on a fathers shoulders. "Has he left his post?" he asked as he stood there, watching through the small window. He doubted he had gone unnoticed. His son missed little but he was unacknowledged and that was enough. "Only that once when Maddoc took over for an hour." It was the answer he had expected. He didn't like it and hoped he had been wrong. He hadn't. "This isn't healthy, you know that. It has been weeks now and he needs to do something else besides just stand watch." "You wish that I tell him this." It wasn't a question, it was a statement. One that was doubly confirmed. "Yes, I do. He won't listen to me, to anyone. You're his father.." His words were cut off with a guffaw. Not a joyous one but an incredulous one from the eldest man. "And you think that bears any weight in this situation?" The mans lips thinned as he shoved a clip board under his arm. "Then give him a direct order as his commanding officer. He needs to rest. He will break if this keeps up much longer." Looking over at the man he chuckled. "You do not know my son very well. When we hurt we must stand vigil over the things we care about, else we lose ourselves to the darkness within. Give him the time he needs. He has earned this post more than any other. That is a direct order." Towards the end his voice was firm as he spoke. He looked at his son through the small window once again before walking off. There was a loud huff as the other turned and walked the opposite direction. He seemed to come out of the thought only a few seconds later before clearing his throat. "Or even the day you saw a helicopter for the first time in a life time," he said with the barest of chuckles. Then his face saddened. "Life, it is difficult. Outside of our walls or inside. Problems, well yes, they will follow us no matter where we go. As does death. Are we cursed? Perhaps. Perhaps those of us that are alive are cursed to forever regret our choices." He paused for a moment before looking at them and holding up a finger slowly. "Then again, we still can hope can we not? For without hope we cannot live, we merely survive. We must live and, to live we must embrace what is out there and also what is within ourselves." The mans hands moved as he spoke. Like a bard from old times weaving a tale. "The light and the dark. We must seize those precious moments. The little things that surround us. Those memories. Treasures really. The way someone smiles or how their eyes light up. The sound of a laugh or the song of a sparrow. Yes, tender memories are all we truly can hold onto and we must lest it all be for nothing." There was a shrug as he rubbed his chin again. "Time makes old fools of us all, if we are lucky enough." Swallowing he looked back to the group. "But enough of an old mans rambling. I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. You should get some sleep. It is a long week ahead but try not to feel bad. We've all spent our time within these walls." Picking up his cane he stood slowly and then started to feel around. Patting his pockets he looked as if he had lost something. "Hrm, um, before I go, which one of you is Captain Holloway?" he asked. Panama motioned towards Ash. "Oh yes, right, thank you Eric," he said with a nod as he pulled out from his front shirt pocket a small piece of thick paper that was laying flat. The side one could see seemed faded and yellowed with age, the edges frayed and worn. One could not see the other. "I was told you were the one that brought in my grand-daughters dog tags. Um, yes, a significant gesture indeed." Stepping towards Ash slowly Aeron held the paper out to him. "Perhaps this will bring you some comfort, I know she would want you to have it," he said as he handed it over. Giving the man a pat on the shoulder, he waited a moment to see the mans reaction before smiling solemnly and nodding to him. "Well, goodnight everyone," he said before making his way back towards the door. The sound of his cane clicking on the floor as he went. Panama reached over and opened the door for the man. "See you after guard change," he said with a smile before the door closed behind him. Atticus stood up from where he was sitting and yawned deeply. Stretching his hands above his head. "Alright folks, grab your bags, let's get you to your rooms for the night." Atticus headed over to the door and waited for everyone. Once everyone was ready to go, he led them out of the conference room and down the hallway. Panama walking next to him and Major pulling up the rear as the last person walked out of the conference room. "Remember, the water in the tubs doesn't work, but the toilets and sink it does. Doors are locked over night and a guard will be patrolling. Come morning your doors will be unlocked and you'll be woken for shower, clothing change, and breakfast. All that jazz. If there is an emergency, just bang on your door, the guard will hear ya'." Each set of people was shown to a room. The rooms were all the same and they were interior rooms so there was no window looking out and there was no adjoining room doors. The only way out was through the door they would enter. Once each group was in their assigned rooms, the door was shut and the locked. They were alone now with their roomies and tomorrow was another day. *Alright peeps, time to hit the hay. It had been too long since she had seen Victor. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst. People were not found again, not really. Clinging to him like a lost child she continued to hug him. Riley decided to poke in there and hug the man while Tatiana was still clung to him. Whatever Tatiana thought of the whole situation, it was unknown. Her face didn't change and she didn't say anything. Seemed Ash had a thing or two to say about it. She only heard the first part but again, she didn't outwardly react. She had thoughts on the situation but she kept them to herself. Turning her attention back to Victor, she nodded and slowly got up. At Victors insistence she wouldn't hurt a fly, she smiled innocently towards the man she called Papa. "Da, vould never hurt a fly," she said in a bubbly tone. Glancing towards Ash, Tatiana stuck her tongue out at the man. There was a slight smirk on her lips. She hadn't hurt a fly, she had knocked a Captain on his ass. There was a vast difference. Walking back to the couch she stood by Jack. Swallowing slightly as she whispered against her husbands ear. "Suka snova peresekayet menya, i ya zakonchu yeye." Tatiana smiled sweetly at her husband and bopped her son on the nose. Jamie giggled and tried to grab his mothers finger. Taking a breath she sat down and waited, this general fellow was supposed to be there any minute. Tatiana wondered what the man was like. What to expect. Sitting there she rubbed her hands together in thought. She wished Thana was there, she didn't really know the woman. Only meeting her at the wedding reception but she liked her. At least the old Tatiana liked her back then. If anything, she seemed to be able to put Ash at ease. Looking over to Ash she wondered what he would do now. Thana wasn't here, he wasn't in charge anymore. He wouldn't be a leader here. If she didn't have Jack and Jamie there was a chance she wouldn't even try to stay here. As the General came in she watched the man closely. Wrapping her arms around herself as she sat there and listened to what he had to say. His way of speaking seemed to lull her in. Something about his accent maybe, or just the way he acted, she wasn't sure but she could listen to the man speak for hours. So he was Gunny and Maddog's dad? And Thana's grandfather? Explained the eyes. That was a heavy family trait it seemed. Yet, he didn't act like either of them in her mind. And nothing like the Thana she had met. That woman had acted more like Gunny most of the time, and a little Maddog. At least from what little she had known of the woman. She had only spoken to her at the reception since Thana had ended up being Ash's date that night. When it was over, her head tilted to the side, wondering what the man had given Ash but she didn't pry. She could pry later. Looking over at Atticus she nodded and grabbed her bag. It was time to go to her room. Walking over to Victor she hugged him and then gave Jack and Jamie a kiss. "Take care of each other, mommies going to get some much needed sleep. Maybe first since Nevnan," she said before falling in line. She wasn't worried about being apart from Jamie tonight. Alexander didn't seem the type to cause a problem. Victor would protect Jamie and Jack would kill for him. Following Atticus to her room she walked into the room and glanced around. Taking note of things. Grabbing a pillow off the bed closest to the door and the top blanket Tatiana made her way over to the large chair and pulled over a smaller one, setting her things down next to her. Getting comfortable she put her feet up in the other chair. She ignored one of her room mates completely but glanced towards the other. "Ve can start dance tomorrov," she said in passing before closing her eyes as one hand slipped into her pocket. There she would sleep for tonight, tomorrow would only tell if she stayed there.

Wayne Maldonado

Location: Camp Mexico Beach: Quarantine (W: Conference Room -> Bedroom 3) Skills: N/A
Wayne chuckled a bit. The main man. He liked that. Seemed this general fellow would be there soon. That was good. Wayne wasn't exactly a people person, to say the least. Turning in for the night sounded good. He could use some sleep. Especially in a bed and not out under the heat. It was something he was looking forward too. Sure he had to share a room but it wasn't anything he hadn't done before. He knew Hank, since before the outbreak. And Nigel, well they had been together with Erica for the last several months, so having him in the bunk was no big deal. In fact to him it was better than the alternatives. At least these two he knew. They had all shared more than their fair share of floors and hold ups for the last months. Shit, the first time they met Hank and himself had helped save one of them and take care of a group of walkers. Sure, he understood why people didn't like him. He was an ass but Hank, he was a good guy over all. A bit rough sure as fuck but damn, those two seemed to hate Hank for no damn good reason. Fucking kids. Looking over at Hank, Wayne smirked and grinned. "Fuck yeah, I'd drop and give her twenty," he said with a laugh thinking back on the woman who was called Daytona. Sure she was older but she was more his age than some of these young blokes. He wondered what she looked like in a sweater. He figured she nailed it. Laughing he shook his head at Hanks mentioning of those Lifetime movies. "Yeah, like those fucking Daniel Steele romance novels my wife used to buy from the drug store," he said and made puking motion. Glancing back over towards the Family Reunion over there he blurted out a laugh hearing only the first part of what Captain Ass-Got-Kicked said to the one half of the Sinead O'Connor twins. He watched, expecting the little momma to jump the woman like a bear. But she didn't. "Huh," he said quietly as he watched her walk back over to her husband and child. That woman was full of surprises. He had to hand it to her, she kept her cool better than he did half the time. Screw that, most of the time. He wondered if she was up to anything and if she was, damn he wanted to watch it go down. Since there were no new shows on TV these days, real life drama was the next best thing. Oh well, maybe another time, time for that general dude to show up. He did snicker at the whole wouldn't hurt a fly thing. Yeah, she was completely harmless. How long had it been since this man was around the little fire cracker? Hoping out of his chair he looked at the crowd watching the movie. "Sorry folks, seems like a good time for an intermission," he said before pausing the movie right at the screeching eels. It was a good scene. Not exactly one he wanted to miss. Flopping back down in his chair, he slowly turned it a bit more so he could see better towards the main area of the room where anyone else from this town had stepped over to, so they could talk. He figured this general fellow would be going back up there to do his little speech or what have you. "Well let's get this show on the fucking road, I got Z's to catch," he said with a toothy grin as he grabbed at the air again and shoved his hand back under his butt. The general came in and did his thing. He had to give the man this, he could talk. Nice talk. It was over now. Looking over towards Ash as the man left the room. "Well fuck, seems someone is already on Mr. General's good side," he said under his breath towards Hank with a grin. He had no idea what the man had given Ash but he had gotten something. Grabbing his shit he followed Atticus out the door. Once in the room, Wayne didn't give two shits what it looked like. Dropping his bag at the foot of the bed furthest from the door he grinned. "Night you fuckers, daddies gotta get some Z's," he said as he clapped his hands together and rubbed them. It was just after that, that Wayne went full belly flop on the bed, face in the middle of the bed, spread eagle like some drunken snow angel, taking up the whole damn thing. There was a slight moan, a loud and long fart that caused the back of his shirt to flutter, a sigh of relief, and then gentle snoring into the pillow. Wayne was out fucking cold.
