It was from Devon that Carl McFarlane and his revolutionaries planned and organized the partisan actions against the Volsinii regime. The Gaelic Constitution was also drafted and approved in the city. In (___), the Volsinii Gaelland Fleet blockaded its harbor and allowed the 5th Legion a naval invasion of the city port. While the legion initially gained the city docks and the lower west-end, the 5th Legion was forced into a stalemate after fierce urban resistance. In (___) the legion was forced to withdraw after suffering excessive casualties. Currently the city is home to Gaellic Parliament, the Gaellic Presidential Office and the Chief Court of Justice. A monument at the Devon docks commemorates the Devon militia which denied the Volsinii capture of the city. The city is also home to the Mooreland Cooperative which produces the Mooreland Tunnel Boring machines.
Foxtrent- The biggest city currently in the republic with a size of (___). The city's industry heavily relies on agricultural manufacturing, with its primary products including pastries and bread. The city became the site of a fierce battle during (____) to (___). The city was defended with a native garrison force of 50,000 conscripts and the 9th Legion. Several rebel elements including the 2nd Revolutionary Infantry Division and 1st International Holtist Volunteers took part in its liberation. While not as devastated as Holdfast, the city did suffer moderate damage during the war. However it has mostly recovered during the 15 years since the Holdfast Agreement. The city suffers unrest however as landowners battle farmers for the rights to farmlands. With farmers having the support of the Gaellic People's Party while the landowners, often called 'farmland barons', have sought help from the Gaellic Nationalist Front. Several minor, violent conflicts have erupted over land ownership and is yet to be resolved.
Holdfast- The southern-most city in the republic and the one most ravaged by the war. During (___), several revolutionary elements under the direct command of Carl McFarlane himself sprang to liberate the city. Holdfast was lightly defended with an emergency militia of 30,000 and recuperating legionaries. Holdfast was quickly taken with token resistance. Any legionaries found by McFarlane's troops were summary executed. Two years later imperial forces under the direct supervision of Messor Aetius himself reached the city. In (___) the 3rd, 7th and 16th legions began the siege of the city. It had became heavily fortified in anticipation. After two weeks of heavy urban combat and legionaries slowly being repelled to the outskirts of the city, the order was given to saturate the city with artillery fire. 500,000 out of the cities 3 million residents were killed. 100,000 casualties were reported from the independence fighters. The entire manufacturing district of the city along with half of its residential districts were completely leveled. Three other surrounding counties were also devastated. By the end of the siege, an estimated 1 million people were displaced. 15 years after the battle has rehabilitated the city somewhat. However homelessness and unemployment are still prevalent problems. The city is also a major source of contention between socialist movements and manufacturing tycoons. Often clashing over worker's rights and workplace ownership.
Cornstalk- A city where the majority of the population are loyalist. However their position in the northeast of the country means rejoining the empire is impossible. During the independence war, a great number of Cornstalk residents were very vocal about the conflict. Many even volunteering to serve in the empire. The city was the stronghold of Duke Elvos de Búrca. Known more commonly as 'Elvos the Merciless' who helped the Volsinii defeat Lord Callan Ó Cuilinn at the battle of Bridgewater and ended the Ó Cuilinn insurrection. The city had always received special privileges from the empire. Privileges that its people vehemently wanted to remain. In (____), six years after the Holdfast agreement, the city barricaded its main road. Its mayor at the time, one Milford Kennedy, wanted to hold negotiations with Prime Minister Conan O’Rourke for the future of his city. Prime Minister O’Rourke agreed and started talks in (____). However because of Kennedy's unreasonable demands, negotiations soon broke down. The city would declare independence from the republic. With armed militias soon setting up positions within the six counties around the city itself. It is popularly believed that Kennedy had also made negotiations with the Volsinii empire for protection if they declared independence. However the empire dismisses such claims. With superior arms and numbers, the Cornstalk uprising was quickly stamped out. Former mayor O’Rourke is still a prisoner in the city's Iron-braid prison, which ones held political prisoners of the Volsinii empire.
Woodrow- The second city to declare its independence and join the fledgling republic. Several coal miners held a general strike in (___) to hold protest for their low income. At the time, the Empire heavily regulated coal prices in an attempt to control steel price inflation. However low coal prices meant less pay for the mostly impoverished mining population. Authorities were quick to crush the worker's revolt and disproportionately used violence on those who resisted. Several miners died in the clash and had left a bitter memory with its residents. Seven years later after the incident, upon learning of the independence movement in Devon, residents of Woodrow were quick to join in the movement. The native garrison quickly quickly disposed of any Volsinii officers and barricades and minor fortifications were set in anticipation of a counter attack. However the city itself was never touched by the war. Instead the roads around it became hotly contested between Volsinii loyalist and Carl McFarlane's guerrilla revolutionaries. After the independence war, the city became a center-point for Holtist and other socialist movements. Worker's unions were established with the help of the government. Several Holtist revolutionaries operating in Colwyn were residents of the city. An entire rifle division of volunteers comes from the city. Known as the Woodrow Division, they support Reg-ahn in the Zengrav civil war. However there are an estimated 30 million people outside of the republic who strongly identify as Gaellic, including the citizens of Colwyn. |Demographics:| A majority of Gaellician citizens identify as ethnically Gaellic. The Gaellic ethnolinguistic identity originated from the north-western portion of modern Gaellicia. The early Gaellic tribes, which would become the Gaellic proto-kingdoms, began to share a common language. Then a common culture and religion would begin to spread and migrate further south. During the Gaellic conquest and occupation, the Gaellic identity was suppressed. However a great revival of Gaellic culture has exploded in the region and in Gaellic diasporas around the world. |Government:| Gaellicia is a constitutional republic with a parliamentary system of government. The Oireachtas is the bicameral national parliament composed of the President of Gaellicia and the two Houses of the Oireachtas: Seanad Éireann (Senate) and Dáil Éireann (House of Representatives). Áras an Uachtaráin is the official residence of the President of Gaellicia, while the houses of the Oireachtas meet at House of Parliament in Devon. |Ruler:| The Republic of Gaellicia has two national leaders. The Head of State is taken by the office of the Presidency while the Head of Government is taken by Prime Minister. With the President being elected and the Prime Minister being nominated by the Parliament and appointed by the President. The Presidential term is fixed and can only be vacated if the current elect chooses so. However the office of the Prime Minister maybe vacated by a vote of no confidence from a majority of the Parliament. At which time the Parliament may choose another Prime Minister. The office of the presidency serves mostly as a ceremonial office, however he is considered the head of the Armed Forces of Gaellicia. The Prime Minister serves as the head of the executive branch of the Gaellic government. |Volksgeist:| The Republic of Gaellicia is currently promoting a new Gaellic reawakening. Where Gaellic people, whether in the republic or elsewhere, are now rediscovering their cultural identity. This cultural reemergence is fueled by the cultural repression of the Volsinii empire for 800(?) years. This cultural reemergence is also used by the Republic to instill a strong sense of nationalism in its people, albeit begrudging by syndicalist and other anarcho-socialist elements of the Republic. The Gaellic identity is strongly linked to its cultural roots. |Religion:| Most Gaellicians follow the religion of ' seanbhealach'. Roughly translated to 'old path'. Followers of seanbhealach believe in a pantheon of gods and goddesses that were widely worshiped in Gaellic lands before the Volsinii conquest. These gods and goddesses include:

An Sean-cheann:
An Mhaighdean:
An Gobha:

|History:|
Gaelic raiders pillaging their neighbors Emperor Virmar III's Gaellic Campaign The defeat Lord Callan Ó Cuilinn at the Battle of Bridgewater Gaellicians celebrating the ratification of the Gaellic Declaration of Independence

|Armed Forces:|
Riflemen of the 2nd Revolutionary Infantry Division during the battle of Foxtrent Rebel soldiers outside of the city of Holdfast ambush a Volsinii patrol Be prepared to write a lot.
