As mentioned prior, for arc 1 mechs are going to be hard-pressed on a minimum. This represents the very beginning of the entire Monster Resurgence and thus the humans are only equipped with more traditional weaponry and vehicles. I don't mind maybe one or two - provided they are given rather a logical backstory - but again, it's very limited. 

However, for future arcs, mechs should definitely be more wide-spread as more crazy stuff will happen.
